Not saying you shouldn't read it. He's a great writer.

Re: The 'What are you reading at the moment' thread
So I found this book The Cocaine Chronicles, 8 short stories I think and so far they are good. I guess you already know what it's about from the title
Twice and twice shall he be marked, twice to live and twice to die.
Once the heron, to set his path. Twice the heron, to name him true.
Once the Dragon, for remembrance lost. Twice the Dragon, for the price he must pay.

Update on A Game of Thrones: I got about five chapters into it and decided not to read it. The soap opera-esque style and gratuitous rape sort of put me off.

Bah, your loss. I already have one person who refuses to read it for reasons that seem incredibly irrational to me, and trying to convince them is enough work.

I may try reading it again in a few months, I don't know. I'm not totally against it, but right now my interests are just leaning away from that sort of thing.

While waiting for my missing copy of A Dance with Dragons to arrive, I'm going back to Dune. I love the universe Herbert created, but his writing is so stale...

I purchased World War Z yesterday. However I will probably wait until after the Leaving Cert to read it.

I somehow always forget to update on here. I'm currently reading Gardens of the Moon, book one of the Malazan series. I'm liking it so far, even though it's a little confusing but I guess I'll figure it out sooner.

The Great Gatsby for my IGCSE course. Quite an interesting read, although I assume that a lot of the UESP old sports have read it.
