So... What would happen when... *MAJOR SPOILERS*
So. We all know the Dovahkiin has done a whole bunch of [&@%!]. He but what happens when he dies? I mean, look: You see, when the Dovahkiin dies, he has ALOT to do... What do you think would happen? Would it be disclosed so you can keep Role Playing? Or a DLC of some sort? Or just overlooked and not mean't to be a concern? Well, I thought it would be a cool discussion anyway...

Ahh yes the "I sold my soul to various parties so what happens when I die" thread.
I would suspect due to the Dovahkiin would go to Sovengard if he died, being the avatar of Akatosh and Lorkhan he/she is.

Guys. Obviously some sort of time-share custody program. One week with Nocturnal, one week with Hircine, one week with Sithis, one week in Sovngarde, repeat.

I wonder who would think the Dovahkiin's soul is worth fighting the other claimants over... I don't think Sithis cares as much as the others.

The dovahkiins soul is the soul of a dragon so either Akatosh will claim you (so that you don't fall in the hands of the daedra) or the daedra will probably fight about you. I think all of them could need a "dragon" in their realm^^.

Which is why I create different characters for different roles. :] To avoid lore-related confusion.

Re: So... What would happen when... *MAJOR SPOILERS*
Hmm, here's what I think would happen:
4 major factions/gods sit on a table when dovahkiin (let's just call him Dee for the moment) dies: Sithis, Shor, Nocturne and Hircine.
Sithis is a the great void if I'm not mistaken, so his seat would be rather empty. Therefor he has no say in this.
So it's Shor, Hircine and Nocturne. Since Hircine is holding several Harbingers of the companions as his bodyguard and hostages, I believe Shor wouldn't want Dee to go to the hunting grounds as well. Knowing Hircine, things might heat up a bit and things might be said that shouldn't be said. Shor, being all honorable, would want to punish Hircine for his insults...
Long story short: Shor and Hircine start an all out gang war.
(Sovngarde Goodies vs Hunting Hounds)
Now, with Sithis not being present and Shor and Hircine leaving the tabel to play their little wargames, Nocturne is the only one left. So I suppose she will snatch Dee, being patron of thieves and other scallywags, and Dee would have to serve her eternally (or at least 'till Shor and Hircine realize Dee's no longer present).

Re: So... What would happen when... *MAJOR SPOILERS*
As a Dragonborn, doesn't he belong to Akatosh first and foremost? Like, wouldn't he have a soul snare set on him so his "father" could snatch him right back up immediately? It seems to be what Akatosh did to Alduin when he died. A hole opens in the sky and that soul sucks right up, presumably to its maker.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

This is what I would think also. akatosh/Lorkahn, since he is an avatar of both, would just pull him up.Pilaf The Defiler wrote:As a Dragonborn, doesn't he belong to Akatosh first and foremost? Re: So... What would happen when... *MAJOR SPOILERS*
I've seen it suggested in some of the theorizing about the DLC that the PC will actually ascend to God-hood like Talos. Wouldn't this prevent the Shor/Nocturnal/Hircine/Akatosh problem?
I don't know if I even agree with the ascention theory, but it could clear this up in a lore-friendly waysince you wouldn't die.

Considering The Dovahkiin is already an avatar of Shor(Lorkhan) and Akatosh, him tuning into Talos, who is Lorkhan reborn, or a Talos like figure, would be him turning into what he already kinda is.

Then perhaps the dragonborn is like the nerevarine: the reïncarnated soul of a hero, this time Talos/Tiber SeptimSajuukKhar wrote:Considering The Dovahkiin is already an avatar of Shor(Lorkhan) and Akatosh, him tuning into Talos, who is Lorkhan reborn, or a Talos like figure, would be him turning into what he already kinda is.
But like the eternal champion he doesn't know it untill he dies and becomes again what he is, being the *god* Talos

Na, the Doavahkiin is a mantler, not a reincarnation.Qirin wrote:Then perhaps the dragonborn is like the nerevarine: the reïncarnated soul of a hero, this time Talos/Tiber Septim
But like the eternal champion he doesn't know it untill he dies and becomes again what he is, being the *god* Talos
http://www.imperial-library.info/conten ... quiry-tree
"Tiber Septim: "The Stormcrown manted by way of the fourth: the steps of the dead. Mantling and incarnation are separate roads; do not mistake this. The latter is built from the cobbles of drawn-bone destiny. The former: walk like them until they must walk like you. This is the death children bring as the Sons of Hora.""
If The Dovahkiin becomes a god it will be using the 4th of the 6 walking ways to reach heaven through violence, that of mantling, walking like them until they must walk like you, the same path that the champion of Cyrod took when he became Sheogorath, the same path Martin took when he became Akatosh, and the same path that Yismir Wulfharth, Zurin Arctus, and Tiber Septim took when they became Talos who is Lorkhan reborn.
The Dovahkiin does however follow the same path as Tiber, Ysmir, and Arctus, which is the path of the King, the Rebel, and The Observer, The path of Akatosh, Lorkhan, and Magnus, a path that he walks with Tullius and Ulfric.
So where is my dream? It is the continuation of reality. But where is my reality? It is at the end of your dream.
