Snowed in da midlands where I iz from... also.
But now it's 1500+, and most of it's gone. Stupid weather system..
I did go out into the deep dark morning - which was actually, obviously - bright and snowy and glowy. Very nice, especially as it was just falling, and was settling nicely.
The ethereal prettiness & quietness was, however, entirely lost on my cat; who simply wanted "Argh!! White and cold!! Let me in!! Let me in!!".

It started here this morining then kind of fizzled out. Now, with some help from the wind it is getting quite nasty out their. The snow coming down doesn't look like it will last long though. Doesn't really matter though we need the moisture terribly.

I really like the snow! Part of the bear persona is that I'm the type who doesn't change from shorts to pants unless the snow is well past my ankles. It's been many years since we have seen a good snow like that. Truthfully, I have seen enough snow this year. It has actually snowed more this year after that groundhog stuck his head out. I wish somone would've shot him!
"Groundhog Assassinated; didn't have chance to see his shadow"
Yeah, and there was much rejoicing!
It's supposed to be the rainy season. I've kind of been looking forward to the Thunderstorms, hail, and possible tornadoes. Qutie a few tornadoes have been through places I've been or lived, but I've managed never to actually be around when it happened. I guess I should consider myself lucky, but I've always had a fascination for that kind of thing. "The Wizard of OZ", is one of my favorite movies of all time!

Pah, snow. Snow here means this to us "HOLY CRAP GET OUT THE SHOVELS!!!" and also very low temperatures, lol. We had our first Thunderstorm of the year last night... god I love thunderstorms... give me rain and lightning over snow any day.
The shadow of the past never dies, so walk forward knowing you can become better than what you've left behind.

I live in the bussling metropolis of Canberra. We get a little snow each winter, usually just stays on the ground for a few hours then melts. But before I moved here there were a few "proper" snowfalls. At ~600m above sea level it's about as far up in the mountains as any major city here.weka wrote:I take it you life up in some mountains somewhere then?? There's not many parts of Oz that get snow is there?!Daedra Prince wrote:....Maybe I'll get some snow here too in a couple of months.
A couple of years ago Hobart had snow on Christmas day, (remember in Australia December is the middle of summer).
The pic is about the heaviest it has gotten here. I remember playing rugby in weather like that, short shorts and basically a thick t-shirt in driving snow, 50km/h winds and -3C. Makes a man out of you.

Removed due to size.

i like snow too though, although this year it was just badly timed. no snow all over winter, boring grey christmas and then a few weeks ago it started snowing, right on time for easter.
and then only a couple of days later i was walking around without a coat cos the temperatures had shot up to 10-15°.

We haven't had any proper snow at all this year, we actually had a green christmas!
We did get some snow later on but it was rather puny compared to how it should be, I mean, I couldn't even make my traditional snow cat this year...
I went north to visit my grandparents over easter and now they had about a meter of proper snow, the kind that squeks when you walk on it
Now that's how it should be...
