Re: The General Discussion Thread
So you did standard grade English then? Remember Wilf the Dog? That was silly how it started trending on twitter.
Is this meant to be witty, informative or deep? I doubt I can manage all three.

No, Scottish Standard Grade. I'm going to assume that AP is a higher qualification.

AP stands for Advanced Placement, so yes.Jakarius321 wrote:No, Scottish Standard Grade. I'm going to assume that AP is a higher qualification.

Re: The General Discussion Thread
Ah ok, the only Int I'm doing is Int 2 Graph Com, I wanted to take it Higher next year but the columns didn't work out so I'm doing Chemistry for one more year than I'd planned but I'm hoping to pick up Graph Com again in 6th year if my brain hasn't leaked from my eyeballs by then.
@Gideon Some Googling has informed me that Advanced Placements are "generally recognized to be equivalent to undergraduate courses in college" and are a lot higher up than what I'm doing.

Probably. AP is only for eleventh and twelfth grades, and Pre-AP is ninth and tenth. But if you're reasonably intelligent, you can usually get into and do well in AP courses.

Re: The General Discussion Thread
This is depressing. I'm working on an assignment that should've really been finished a week ago, which needs to be handed in on Monday, and I just realised that there's a VERY good chance that I'm not understanding the questions correctly. But I left it so late that I can't ask anyone if I'm understanding it correctly... Which wouldn't usually bother me all that much, except now I work with the people who mark my assignments, and it can get a little bit awkward.

Chess huh? I'm kinda good at chess, but I'm far from the best. It's hard to develop strategies when the only person you play it with (and rarely at that) is with my twin brother.

Re: The General Discussion Thread
It's easy. Your targets in order are Queen and knights sometimes bishops or castles/rooks. Myself I always make sure my king has an exit and my queen is protected by a pawn at least or she doesn't go down without the enemies queen. I once got checkmate with 2 pawns and a king

Re: The General Discussion Thread
You can still see the thread if you go to the announcements forum, but since we can't post to that forum directly, and it doesn't show up in other forums, we can't actually post to the thread anymore. I think. I tried messing with the url to put in a different forum code (like http://forums.uesp.net/viewtopic.php?f= ... &start=375 ) but it still won't let me post there.

I woke up dizzy today. On the one hand, it's kind of a nifty feeling. On the other, I really don't want to fall over.

I can't speak to rolling hills, but there's certainly something about living in the country.

Botswana is calling me...The capital city Gaborone is still incredibly primitive and undeveloped, and yet by-and-large they're very happy. One of the lowest overall hunger rates in the world, and yet the average salary is a third of that in the US.

Re: The General Discussion Thread
Both the city and the country have their merits. I would never be for want in either, but I'd always want to be in touch with the world I don't quite live in. I've lived in city and quiet farming towns, and I like both equally, but no matter where I am I always crave the other. Never happy.
It is funny how my phone works way up here in the Catskills, though. (Is that how you spell it? Oh, well.)
