The time when you were a filly ingnorant
Well, not when you were a filly, but when you just realized the existance of The Elder Scrolls. Show some love to dady, describe it to me.
Example:When tamriel was made... I was in a friend's house, and he has showing me his superb duperb computer, and oblivion was a funny thing he show me (It wasn't the real oblivion, he just show me how to ride a... flying animal with wings on it... and steal a horse. Odviously, I didn't feel atracted (everybody hail the 1gb ram notebook of mine!) but I had the felling that something bigger was about the game. I made some researches and (you make know this one) I didn't understand a little pebble of what was TES!. Well, since I like my things straight, I say: "I will play the very first one
And that's how Eques... Tamriel was made

Re: The time when you were a filly ingnorant
I used to watch Toonami, an anime block on Cartoon Network. They gave this game called Morrowind a 10 out of 10. That compelled me to try it, along with the description of a western RPG with ten playable races, hundreds or thousands of individual pieces of armor and weapons, and just as many explorable dungeons.
I wasn't the least bit disappointed.

Re: The time when you were a filly ingnorant
I read very positive reviews of Oblivion and articles about in a video game magazine. My friend said it was really good so eventually I bought a PS3. One day I was looking at the second hand games in gamestop and saw the black PS3 box for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year edition. I bought it and started a game as an Argonian. It blew my mind, don't regret it for a second.

I started playing Morrowind because my parents wouldn't let me play WoW. God, I'm so thankful to them.

My father used to work with a guy who was really into Oblivion, and he loaned us it, and as they say, the rest is history!

I'm ashamed to admit this, but I played Fallout first and was a fan. Then I decided to pick up a game I had seen at my local game shop for years (*facepalm*) and decided to give Oblivion a chance. And now I'm here. One of the best decisions of my life.

Saw my brother playing Oblivion at his computer one day and he let me create a character. An Argonian named Dennis.

You say "both games" like there are only two Fallouts....
I would say play Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout:Tactics as well. They are awesome, still Fallout: New Vegas is my favourite.

Nothing compares to the fun I had in Oblivion. I have fond memories of hauling ass back from Rockmilk Cave with loads of Glass Armor.

That's how I made most of my money in Oblivion, not gonna lie, and as my first character was a Breton Battlemage who wore light armor, I got lots of decent loot for myself in that cave.
Since I broke in with Morrowind, which was many people's first TES game, my earliest gaming memories were a bit less positive - since Morrowind was less lenient on players who made mistakes. But once I got settled into a groove and rolled a character that fitted my playstyle - an Imperial warrior - and got ahold of some powerful artifacts, and got engrossed in the main storyline, much fun was had.

Most of my friends played oblivion when it was first released, they would always talk about it. I bought it years later for $20

Re: The time when you were a filly ingnorant
I actually started with Redguard. At the time I wasn't really old enough to make purchasing decisions, so it was my sister's. I enjoyed watching her play it and was ecstatic when I was finally allowed to play it. Fast forward to about 2004. I was at Wal-Mart and was browsing the games section as we had just gotten a new computer. It had been awhile since I had played Redguard, but I still had fairly fond memories of it. I found a game called "Morrowind" which I was drawn to when I saw "The Elder Scrolls" written on it, so I purchased it. My PC at the time could only play it on the bare minimum graphics options, but I still loved it. In 2006 I purchased Oblivion for my Xbox 360, as my old PC couldn't run it. I kept playing on Xbox until I purchased a gaming laptop in 2008 (which coincided with me joining the UESP forums). And with Skyrim's release last November, I purchased a brand new gaming desktop to enjoy it on. And it all started with Redguard!

Well, my brother had the game on disc. I found his hiding place for the disc, then played it. It was awesome, I think, though I kept on dying. So I "took a break", and only found it again... erm... a year? before now.

Re: The time when you were a filly ingnorant
I started with Daggerfall (TES 2) at my best friend's place on his mom's computer. We were in 3rd or 4th grade at the time (1996) and really most of it was way over our heads, but we persevered and finally figured out after weeks of playing how to get out of the first dungeon alive. I didn't end up playing Daggerfall for that much longer, though. Just enough to get hooked into the series.
I remember telling people how cool Morrowind was going to be before it came out, and indeed how cool it was/is. Skyrim and Oblivion are great games but both of em IMO are no Morrowind which is no Daggerfall. And that's for worse but for the better, too
And some things, like quest bugs, will always be the same

My dad had Oblivion when I was in about 2nd or 3rd grade (so like 7 or 8 years old). I would watch him then finally decided to play. Of course when I met my first bandit I went off crying to my father for help, honestly thinking if my character died I would too. Btw my first character was an Argonian named Harold Fluffybottom (I came up with the Fluffybottom part)
Yeah, that was my introduction to TES.

I've been aware of each of TES games coming out since Daggerfall, but could never play them because my computer was too crappy. About a year ago I had this brilliant idea of checking out those awesome games that made me so frustrated when I was a kid, because while my computer is still crappy, it's not crappy by 2002 standards. So I got Morrowind, and later went back to Daggerfall and Arena, and I fell in love with TES.

Re: The time when you were a filly ingnorant
Played Morrowind at a friends house on the original Xbox when I was about 15, (so 2006ish) then convinced my Dad to buy it on computer. The [&@%!] loved it so much that I barely ever got to play it.
Then when 360's came out, I bought one, and Oblivion was one of my first 2 games. (Saints Row being the other)
Completed every single quest you can in Oblivion (Yes I checked that on the wiki)
Still havn't got anywhere near completeing Morrowind. I tend to get bored with 1 character after a while.
And the only questline I've finished in Skyrim is the DB, so I'm still playing both Skyrim, and Morrowind every now and then.

Re: The time when you were a filly ingnorant
Like several people, I got into Morrowind and Oblivion with the help of Fallout 3. When I was browsing Fallout forums I always came across references to this strange game by the same people called... Oblivion.
Oblivion? What a stupid name. Who wants to be a frilly-dilly elf? PASS.
It took me nearly a year to actually realize the majesty of Oblivion, as well as Morrowind. I played the games to death, looked forward to Skyrim, got Skyrim, got bored with Skyrim, played Morrowind and Oblivion again, started modding Skyrim, got back into Skyrim.... All in all, it was Fallout 3 that introduced me to the Elder Scrolls games, however reluctantly.

Re: The time when you were a filly ingnorant
I had never actually heard of the Elder Scrolls before Skyrim's release.
I recall in the days up to the release that all my classmates/friends were going wild about some new game called Skyrim. Never actually gave it much attention, until I heard (more like eavesdropped) my classmates as they read through the game guide. Some of the quests and objects they were describing sounded absolutely fascinating, but what really caught my attention was the mention of Dragons (I've always been a fan of Dragons). This prompted some research and I found myself becoming more and more interested in the game. Didn't actually decide that I wanted it until I started watching Pitchingace88's playthrough on Youtube. That's when I decided I wanted it, but I was rather hesitant to get it because I didn't think my 2 year old PC could handle it.
Finally bought Skyrim on December 31st, 2011 and (to my surprise) my computer was capable of handling it on High.
Until my old ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 card decided it didn't want to work (the same day the 1.6 update was released from beta on PC). But that doesn't matter.
I found myself getting pulled further in after I bought Skyrim. I was attracted to the lore, and wondered what the other games were like.
I spent more time doing research on Oblivion GOTY and Morrowind GOTY, and eventually bought them in June. Now I love them all.
Of course, I've also been watching some Dawnguard playthroughs and I'm certain I'll buy that as well... Poor internet or not.

Re: The time when you were a filly ingnorant
Many years back my family built a PC, and the graphics card game with a bunch of free games amongst which was Morrowind. I enjoyed it quite a bit, and a few years later bought the GOTY edition for pocket change. That game was engrossing, I think only recently have I really explored 99% of it (I think I've really seen 100%, but you never know).

Well when I was little I use to go over to my uncles all the time to play baldurs gate SoA on his computer. When he got morrowind it was the same deal. When I was old enough to have my own computer I purchased both games and they are my favrorits to this day.
