Ilsylex in Revolution (Sign Up)

Post by Imp »

This thread is designated for signing up for "Ilsylex in Revolution", an Rp where you are part of a group, completing quests, to finally lead up to the main battle of the revolution. The reason I am making a sign up thread is because I have been planning out the Rp for about a few weeks now, and I cannot plan any further without knowing about how many characters, the characters' skill, names, and backgrounds. So, if you could sign up here, the Rp will probably start in a few months tops, probably a lot less, but I would rather not give myself a deadline. I can make adjustments for any amount of people that join.
The Rp is below.

Ilsylex in Revolution
Welcome, To the Wonderful World of Revolutions!

Spoiler:
Setting
In another world, there is a land that the natives have come to call Ilsylex. Ilsylex is a fairly small barren planet, home to only Humans and Dark Elves (as far as you know). The Humans are like us, and The Dark Elves, are pitch black masses of flesh bone and blood, in the form of a Human. These two races are at great hate at one another, and life is about to get very violent. The Dark Elves have ruled over the Humans since The Crimson Campaign, a battle held between the Dark Elves and the Humans, determining the superior race. The Elves destroyed the Humans. The Elves drove the Humans back further, and expanded the Elven territory. The Humans live in what is now Peasent's Place. The Humans living their are sick, cramped, and weak. There are twice as many Humans than elves now, and the Elves have more territory.

You
The character you play will be a Human taking residence in Fire Isles of Peasant’s Place. It is located in the North West Islands of Peasant’s Place, and is not as bad as the rest of Peasant’s Place. The North West Islands was named by the Humans, because of the native Human nationalism. Fire Isles is home to the most talented Humans in all the land. The Elves do not even know that the Fire Isles is made up of the strongest and smartest. You are in Fire Isles because you have shown a great aspect of a skill. Be it battle, brains, or anything else useful in these times.

Ilsylex
Ilsylex, as you see on the map, is a barren land. This section is here to give you a description of the locations.

North Pole- The ice caps to the very north of Ilsylex, inhabited by absolutely nothing. It is a barren wasteland at the moment, and most intend it to stay that way, due to its unbearable conditions. It has never been ventured on by anything.

South Pole- The ice caps to the very south of Ilsylex. Peple believe it is inhabited by Ru'Tarks and Run'Ton, but they do not want to take that chance, due to its unbearable conditions. It has never been ventured on by Humans or any Elf.

Forbiddenland- The land furthest north land, without ice. No being has ever gone there, and nobody wants to. It is said Ogres and Noraks live their. There are stories in Peasent Land that those Devertocil will come to you while you sleep if you are a bad child. Sadly this secretly already happens, the child's personality not mattering. No Human or Elf has ever gone there by its own will, or came back.

The Great Blue- A large body of water, extremely deep. It can be related to The superstitions of The Bermuda Triangle. Most sailors try to stay as close to shore as possible, those who don't are never seen again.

Mainland-The land that is made of Peasant’s Place, and Elven territory.

Peasant’s Place-The land below Forbiddenland, that is occupied by the Humans. It is an unorganized mess of self built shacks. No shops, no business, no smiths, and very few farms.
Fire Isles- Part of Peasant’s Place. It is your home, and home of the most talented humans. It is different from the other parts of Peasent's Place, because it does have shops, busiesses, smiths, and more farms. If they are able, less fortunate Humans make the journey there to thank you for your nationalism to your race. The land is something that give the Human Race hope, but must stay in secret. If it doesn't, there will be no more Humans, because the Dark Elves would be furious.

Land of Elves- The land down South where the Elves of royalty live. There lives the royal elves, with many great luxorious shops and homes. They have surpluses of necesities and wants, and keep them to themselves.

Elven Army- The land that the Elven Army always stands ready. They stay ready, waiting for anything to come across any part of the border, no Human knows why they really stand, and no Humans wants to find out.

Mechanics
This here will be my first RP that I see going somewhere has a more structured plot. You will be taken into a group, and you will follow a series of plots throughout. I actually have the RP planned for a change, with an ending and all. The reason that I haven't asked for a Co-Dm is because I would have to give them the whole plot.

The fighting in the game will work by two things:
1) Dice rolls
2) Detail and realism of battle posts. Though, remember that you can be unrealistic only in your skill, so make your skill count.
The weapons that you use in this game will be medieval. No guns or cannons. The Humans do not have siege weapons.

You will be part of a group. This group will be going around, rounding up allies, and completing goals to win the revolution.

-Important!
The Human race cannot cast any magic, or anyother race besides the Elves. Though, weapons and artifacts may be previously enchanted, and used to the other races' advantages. There are two kinds of magic, Dark, and Light. Dark can only be used by Dark Elves, and Light can only be used by Light Elves.

Dark- This magic is basically spells of fire, and absorbing enemy willpower and strength to fight. If mastered, the magic could kill anything with the flick of their fingers. The only true master of Dark Magic is Deverto.

Light- This magic is basically healing, and strengthening tributes of a soldier, or anybody. If mastered, the magic could reincarnate anything with the flick of their fingers. The only true master of Light Magic is Dayou.

Races

Gods
Dayou- The creator of Light Elves, Ru'Tark, Run'Ton, and Humans, Dayou is the God of Good. Neither boy or girl, It does It's best to help out the Dayou races, but cannot be seen by Deverto, Dayou's other half. Dayou controls Good-hearted magic, positive energy, swiftness and grace. Dayou is said to take form of a Light Elf when on Ilsylex.

Deverto- The creator of Dark Elves, Ogres, and Noras. Deverto is the God of Evil. Neith boy or girl, It does It's best to wreck havoc unto everything, unless Its own personal being is in danger. The Deverto doesn't mind if Dayou sees Deverto to bad things, Dayou isn't as strong as Deverto. Deverto controls Dark Magics, negative energy, and disease. Deveto is said to take form of a Dark Elf on Ilsylex.

Devertocil (species created by Deverto) WARNING! Somewhat repulsive.
Dark Elf- The Dark Elf is nothing like Elder Scrolls, except for it looking like a human. The Dark Elf is the only species that is able to control Dark magic. Its appearance is a human, though, it is 100% colored blacker than a shadow. The Dark Elf is constructed of only pure evil, and it will stop at nothing to show it.

Ogre- The strong, stupid, and ugly ogre was first created so the Dark Elves could bully something other than themselves. It has black blotches on its stretchy face and brownish moles everywhere. It has no cartialge on its nose or ears, and absolutely no hair. The rest of its color is a dark green. The Ogre uses giant barabaric weapons in battle, and tears limbs from its ememies, drinking the blood from the dead being's stomach. It has disappeared years ago, and is said to live on Forbidden Island.

Norak- The weak, smart, and fat spider people were created to outsmart the Dayoucil Ru'Tark. The Norak has a very round bottom with four legs attacked to it. It's upper torso resembles a very obese human with another four more spindly arms, but is the color of a black widow. It has antenna on its head, and a regular human mouth and nose. It has no ears, but very silky hair. It is known for its expansive knowledge and ways of the tongue. It is usually able to trick its oponnent into sleeping in its home, or going somewhere alone, where it decapitates the enemy and eats its insides. It has disappeared years ago, and is said to live on Forbidden Island.

Dayoucil (Species created by Dayou) No Longer Repulsive
Light Elf- The Light Elf looks like a human. The Light Elf is the only species that is able to control Light magic. Its appearance is a human, though, it is 100% a blinding white light. The Light Elf is constructed of only pure love, though it is very passive.

Ru'Tark- The Ru'Tark is a dumb and strong bear person. It was created to outbeat the Devertocil Ogre. The Ru'Tark walks on its hind legs, and relates to the description of a black bear on its hind legs. Though, it has feet, a human face, and opposible thumbs. The Ru'Tark does its best to save those in harm from the evil. Even though their size is so great, they are great sneakers and arrow shooters. The only thing they take the offensive on is Devertocil races. It has disappeared years ago, and is said to live in the South Pole.

Run'Ton- The Run'Ton is an intelligent and weak midget, with the facial features of a Lorax, and the same colored fur, though about .5 meters in hight. The Run'Ton may be small, but their intelligence makes up for it, and that is why they were created. Dayou wanted to outsmart Devertocil Noraks. Run'Ton (plural) are known for their expansive knowledge and logical thinking. They disappeared years ago, and are said to live in the South Pole.

You
Human- The most basic race, evenly balanced at almost everything, created by Dayou. The Human is who you must be, and are the ones at the disadvantage. The only skill that they have that the Deverto made creatures do not is the ability to be kind. Dayou always will try to help Humans the best that can be done.

A History
Before Ilsylex was created, in its place were two divine beings. Dayou and Deverto, rulers of Good and Bad. Dayou is good, Deveto is bad. They both joined together to create Ilsylex, filling it with things of Holy and Unholy. These two gods were friends, due to their balance. They finally decided to make life. They made Elves of two species, Light Elves (Dayou's Elves) and Dark Elves (Deverto's Elves). This marked Year 1. The Elves lived in peace, balancing out the world of 'Yin and Yang’; until Deverto decided peace wasn't the 'fun' way to go. In Year 300, the Dark Elves were rallied up, and destroyed every last seen Light Elf, until the only species on land were Dark Elves. These Dark Elves were brutal, and awful to each other, until Dayou finally accepted his loss, and helped Deverto by applying order to Dark Elves in Year 400. The Dark Elves were now brutal and evil to everyone but themselves. This left a problem, because there was nothing for The Dark Elves to be mean to, so they again harassed and killed their own race. Deverto, was thankful for Dayou's help, and didn't want to see it go to waste. Deverto decided to create more evil beings, so Dark Elves could bully and harass them, instead of each other. In Year 1000, the Deverto made Ogres, who were stupid and strong. This gave fun to the Dark Elves. In 1001, Dayou, not to be undone, created another species also, Ru'Tark (Bear People), who were also stupid and strong. Deverto became offended, and wanted to make something to balance out his Ogres, to kill all Ru'Tark. Deverto made the Noraks (Spider People), who were intelligent but weak. Dayou, again meant to beat that by making the Run'Ton (Think of The Lorax, the size of a LoTR dwarf), who were also intelligent but weak. This lead to The Great War in 1111, where the Ogres and Noraks teamed up against the Ru'Tarks and Run'Tons and fought all over the land. The fighting ceased after 889 years of intense bloody battles and reincarnations when all four species vanished simultaneously. This marked Year 2000, and the Dark Elves believed they were the only species again. One thousand years later, Dayou still feeling left out, created the Humans, and year 3000 began, when the Dark Elves and Humans teamed up to fight off the Ru'Tark, Run'Ton, Ogres, and Noraks coming from the North and South Poles. The Dark Elves and Humans were victorious, and lived in peace until 3500, when the Dark Elves demanded themselves the superior race. Thus began the Crimson Campaign of 3506, where Humans and Dark Elves fought for this title. The Dark Elves won with little to no casualties, and sent the Humans to Peasant’s Place in 3600, and took the rest of the territory and set up a forever standing army, protecting the Royals from Peasant’s Place. After years of harassment, the Humans decided to gives themselves some nationalism, and set aside a set of islands for the strongest in build and brains in 4000. For an extremely long time, it was just a distant hope, having a few people together that knew how to do things effectively, but many many generations later, more people advanced. The Fire Isles was named, and actually improved (the people and the island) in year 10,000. The Human race was very strong and skilled at this time, and was able to create medieval type weapons. They raised flags on their secret islands, which was red with a white dot in the middle (Opposite Japan). Inside the white dot, was a fire emblem (which looks like the fire 'Topic Icon'). This is now, Year 15,000 where the Humans of Fire Isles are burning with white hot fury, and are no longer going to be pushed around.

In my opinion, when you create your own world you have to offer a little more than a brief summary of the current events.

Think about Matt's introduction how he went into great detail on both Marukhati and New Age or Eltee's WoTV

With my New job I have little time to even catch up so it will be hard for me to even finish my fanfic. But you go into detail you don't make it sound so simple.

You describe an apple as being: An apple.

He's suggested you describe it as: A luscious ruby-red fruit with not too thick skin and a sweet juicy meaty core that almost melts in your mouth not squishy like slush.

Think about the detail I went into when I made the RP... A description of magic, races, places, a history, current events, spells etc.

Did all of that advice and changes that occured just happen so nobody could join? Sigh...

EDIT: Sorry, I realized that that just kind of sounded like I am trying to guilt people into it, but I wasn't. So to prevent anyone joining because of that previous statement, the Rp will just be dead.

EDIT2: can you at least tell me why the topic is bad?

Name : Hillod Gor
Gender :M
Age :25
Specialty : (Keep in mind you are godlike at your specialty) Stealth
Background : He was born into a peasant family. As Hillod grew he got progressively better at sneaking around and began breaking into Dark Elf nobles houses to get some quick money by selling their valuables. For his 25th birthday he decided to go on his greatest heist yet along with his good friend Alistair. He clambered up the wall surrounding the house and dropped into the courtyard without being seen. He unlocked the gate to let Alistair in and they made their way across the courtyard to the house. Everything went smoothly from picking the lock to evading various magical traps until they reached the object of their hunt. It was a golden egg imbued with rubies and sapphires that sparkled in the light it was sitting in. Alistair abandoned caution and approached it quickly. Before Hillod could say anything a pit opened in the floor beneath him and bars closed over it. Hillod rushed over the pit and looked down through the bars to see Alistair looking back up at him. "I'll get you out" he mouthed through the bars but stopped when he heard footsteps. He looked up to see the owner of the house approaching the pit quickly, as he hadn't seen Hillod, Hillod faded into the shadow to see what would transpire. The elf gave a look of disdain at Alistair before spitting through the bars at him and saying something Hillod couldn't hear. The elf then waved his hand over the bars and the floor closed over them again but Hillod could hear a muffled scream and a quiet crunch coming from where the pit was. He drew his shortsword and dagger before charging across the room at the elf. He plunged the blades into the Elfs chest and watched as its life ebbed away. He removed his blades from the body and spit on it before rushing back the way he came and out into the street. It wasn't long before guards were searching for the murderer and Hilod had to make his way to the Fire Isles to escape capture.
Appearance :He is dark haired with a scar running vertical on his cheek from a near miss with a trap. He often wears black clothes or other dark colors.
Personality : he is Fiercly loyal to his friends but is otherwise morally flexible ready to do what needs be to get the job done. He has a good sense of humor and tries to be generally likeable
