Coolest, hardest, most heroic thing you've ever done

Post by Knight of the Nine »

Hello uesp forum users and fellow Skyrim players

I was wondering yesterday what people think is the coolest thing they have done on Skyrim, me and a friend of mine were discussing this yesterday and his was: He had no arrows left, and the slow time shout was on, he caught an arrow being fired at him and killed the firer with it, then he had to run because loads more guys were coming along. (He's level 45 I think)

So I was wondering what all of you Skyrim players have done that was epic and legendary beyond compare?

I'd best start with mine:

I was helping my little (9 year old) step brother on his account and he said how hard gaints were, I then said (slightly boastfully which is kind of sad really) "I bet I could take on a gaint naked!" So I switched to my profile, took off all my armour (except some boots and an ancient nord helm so I could look epic and killed two gaints and three mammoths with an Elven Warhammer (epic). Then I found in the gaint's chest an ebony warhammer of storms (not upgarded) and went around killing minor things until I cam across a sleeping Elder Dragon :D So then after a msssive battle I planted my warhammer in his face (only shout I used was Dragonrend (to make the fight fair). All the while as good as naked. (Level 44 by the way)

As a side note, which sounds better, the naked elder dragon fight or the catching arrow thing? We had quite a debate about it.

Sorry, I have to go for the arrow catching! But how exactly does that work? Never used the Slow time Shout.

Krosis @ level 3. By the time I had beaten him, I think my Archery had increased by about 15.

Playing any part of the game with the Lord of the Rings soundtrack in the background. Especially Civil War quests.

Also I haven't done it yet but I plan on robbing the DB by doing the destroy the DB quest but not killing any of them, but instead just sneaking around pickpocketing and stealing things around the hideout.

theres a sort of barricade across a road in a bit of wasteland owned by bandits, i found it just after i unlocked beheading on my 1-h

they were taunting me etc, and i charged them, beheaded two straight away, ran through the gate and was missed by all the rocks they released, and basically fought my way up to the leader, and after a couple of blocks and counters i beheaded him too. In about 60 seconds they were all dead except for one who was running away, and i fired an arrow at him and watched him drop just before he escaped behind a rock

My char is a bosmer, lvl 48, i ran up a mountain and found a word wall, killed the dragon and a dragon priest then entered a dungeoun from the exit, and kill the draugr deathlord without taking a single hit once inside, on master difficulty without dying once. Archery + dual wield (1axe/1sword) with extra bleed dmg for axe and decapitate... it was the most epic 10 minutes ive played in the whole game, the only other thing i can think of that comes close is when i had to fight a frost dragon, a blood dragon, an elder dragon, and a group of giants all at the same time becuase of a group of bandits ( i use sneak also for the bonus bow dmg, so as i went into sneak and teh bandit was running away he ended up shooting a dragon that was flying over head as a group of giants was fighting another dragon, while these were going on as i was watching toward the bandit and other dragon i stumbled into a dragon burial and i got the attention of the third dragon.... it was awesome, i had faendal a flame atronach and i used sanguines rose... still took about 20 minutes to finish the fight, soo many close calls too i would have been crushed if i died n lost the opportunity to fight 3 dragon battles at once....

I was at Sky haven and saw a dragon going to town on some place across the river. I pretty much jumped off the mountain and then through a squad of forsworn to save them. I was too late to save the orc who was working the smelter.
I would be a procrastinator, but I keep putting it off.

My assassin wiped out all the bandits at Treva's Watch without being caught once. I felt like a badass after that...and that was with no HUD at a difficult level.

By the way, where are the multiple dragon attacks coming from? I had to fight two dragons at once too (blood and frost). That was WAY fun. It was right by Karthswaren so we also got attacked by Forsworn. I had a couple close calls too but I didn't die! At the end of it all I was like WTF just happened?

I'd have to say one of the coolest things I've done is how I defeated Morokei. I walked up to his magic-energy-shield-thing being provided by the Enthralled Wizards, then used Slow Time and shot one arrow at each of the wizards, then turning around to face Morokei. I pulled out Dawnbreaker and Dawnbreaker (glitches are fun :P ), and waited a second for Slow Time to stop. Time sped up, the arrows connected with their targets at the same time, and Morokei was freed. Just in time to get a dual-wielding power attack to the face. One hit killed.

My hardest moment had to be the time I fought an Ancient Dragon and an Elder Dragon at the same time on master difficulty. It was shortly after I had upgraded and enchanted my armor to the point where my character is essentially a demi-god. I didn't think anything would be challenging anymore, but those dragons were tough as hell to kill. Every time I got one on the ground and started attacking him the other would be shouting frost/fire at my back. It was a good 5-6 minute battle that required several health potions, but eventually I killed them both and I felt like I had confirmed my demi-god status.
Long live the Empire!

I had to fight 4 dragons at once. Yes FOUR :)

Deadly dragons mod, and i fought them in Whiterun. A very long battle, very epic. No casualties , civilians nor guards.

But the most epic battle had to be rushing to save Karthwasten from a dragon attack and i started to lose, and a passing Imperial war party (Immersive patrols mod) joined the battle (about 10 soldiers, 1 commander and 1 mage) and with their help we were able to slay the dragon, with the commander getting the finishing blow. Had a battle for Kvatch feel when the soldiers show up to help. Suffice to say i offered to buy those soldiers a round of drinks ;)

Knight of the Nine wrote:(only shout I used was Dragonrend (to make the fight fair).
Hah, Dragonrend does not make the fight fair, as the main weapon of dragons are flying and breathing. Bringing them down makes them more than vulnerable. Personally, I have to admit that I usually make dragon fights unfair by collecting large amounts of magic resistance, so that I can stand their breaths ;)

Anyways, i don't have much cool nor heroic acts, but lots of hard ones, usually when playing at low level. Once I was trapped in to a chamber behind Otar, being used almost all my potions and other things, at level around ten or something. My arrows just didn't make any damage to it (him? her?), but it killed me with one single spell cast. After many, many tries, I finally tried to escape the ruins by sprinting, and after a few tries I succeeded (a few times when I tried to run, I got spell to my back which killed me). Boy, how reliefed I was when I was out...

Another time my low level Breton met dragon at Skyborn Altar. I used all the possible and impossible means I had with me, and after a million tries I was finally able to kill it, mainly because of pure luck. Boy it was hard... It was my first character, and one of the first dragons I was fighting; nowadays I am a little bit more experienced how to prepare to meet dragons :D

I have had hard, long and fierce fights against all sorts of enemies. Bandit chiefs, bears, sabre cats, trolls, draugr overlords, dragons, dragon priests, you name it. Yesterday I had a fierce fight with my current character (level 15) against a random bandit thug, against hired thugs, against group of bandits and so on. In all those fights, I used up my potions, scrolls, spells, everything :) If you ask, how in hell I can have difficult fights against such enemies, you should know that with my latest characters I am merely looking for challenge, trying out totally different approaches to fights (and yes, I play at Master difficulty, have played almost all the time except the very first tries). For example, my current character uses dagger and light armor, no shield, no magic; makes melee fights at low level pretty hard, and they are only possible with aid of alchemy (I have constant lack of paralysis poison, as well as other necessary potions and poisons).

I killed Alduin with my fists. It was pretty epic.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

I believe you just won Skyrim, please tell me you were not wearing any armor either?

Something that happened to me that I thought was epic was when you are escaping Helgen at the start. I walked into that first room and didn't have a weapon equipped so was fighting hand to hand and killed that imperial guard that demands you be killed even though you're not on the list. Anyway the death went to a kill cam were I grabbed the back of her head and punched her repeatedly in the face. I nearly cried from laughter at this.
I'm on my way to Windhelm to join up with the Stormcloaks, Ulfric has the right of it!

Arrow catching is one of the coolest things in the game!
You actually have a chance of catching one if you are lighting fast without the Slow Time shout but it requires heavy training(if you play games like Red Dead Redemtion then you are pretty much set).
Otherwise the shout slows time to the point you can actually see the arrows coming towards you and if you position the crosshair on them a "Take Arrow" option will aper.

I was...the whole fist fighter build kind of depends on it. Doesn't matter much, though. He was a high level version of himself and ate through my health constantly. Not an easy fight. Only used Dragonrend and drank lots of potions.

It's not Legate Rikke in Helgen. She's an unnamed NPC. When you side with Ralof, she's one of the first Imperials you run into. And I killed her in one of my playthroughs just like that. Probably my favorite kill cam animation.

I've been trying to remember mine, and I've finally got it: A hagraven at level 10. It was for the Blessings of Nature quest, and the first time I just wandered up and got slaughtered by the witches. The raven herself didn't even come out.
I tried my usual frontal aproach a few times, and realized I was way out of my depth. I ended up hanging out on the opposite ledge, dodging fireballs and sniping at the coven, until I'd taken everyone out but the leader, and she was fairly low health. Then I jumped down the cliff, and we fought hand to hand in the light of the setting sun, until I finally emerged victorious.
I felt pretty epic after that.
