Today while on my way to Riften I passed by something I'd never seen before in the game. A wounded Stormcloak Soldier in mourning clothes, with bandages on his head, just laying there writhing in pain in the middle of the forest.
Is he part of a quest? When approached, he gives the typical Stormcloak speech ("If you know any true sons and daughters of Skyrim...") and then groans and coughs. I'm asking because if he's not part of any quest, I'll just kill him since he can't be helped in any way
Sorry if this has been brought up, there is no article for him on the wiki.

You should also visit their camps while your at it.
There you will find a few soldiers that would benefit from your medical expertise Dr.House.
I'm not sure what you mean with that, but I only said "he can't be helped in any way" because I tried to use Healing on him (and it did nothing) and he has no dialogue besides the one I mentioned. So if he's not part of a quest he can't be helped. Sorry.

And my point was that killing him will resolve what? You'll "end his suffering"?
He's either a bug or a radiant encounter,nothing special.

Healing Hands does not help wounded NPC(scripted ones at least).

I see. Thank you.

Point taken. I realize it was a stupid and irrelevant thing to say but yes, that is what I meant since I'm roleplaying the sort of character that would do that.
I thought this soldier was a particular case due to his location.

Technically, none of the Nine want you to go to Sovngarde. Shor does, and he's not among the Nine.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

Understandable, still in this case it's the game itself that is keeping you from healing him,not his wounds. For this reason, personally ,I would just let him be.Chances are he will be discovered by a SC patrol.
