also according to people on the Bethesda forums some water combat files were found also
Hm thats very interesting :? I wouldn't mind a link to the discussion.
maybe those are not arrows on his back in the new pic. maybe they are bolts. some people realy want crossbows in the game.
I'm 110% sure those are arrows.Anyway, they wouldn't spend image space on something so irrelevant as crossbows.
If it really is something vampire/falmer related it's the perfect time to bring back crossbows and considering we already know the files are there they wouldn't have to put bolts in the picture.

A few things I think would also be included in the DLC are:
Werewolf skill tree.
Possibly Vampire skill tree.
Crossbow/Spear skill trees or the altering of Archery and Two Handed to accommodate both new weapon types.
A level cap raise to 91 or 101.
I EAT pain wrote:I don't know, BUT, I think there will be more shouts.
Thats very plausible because they already have shouts ingame they could add to our repertoire.
Mefris Elmek wrote:On the other hand if they give us new shouts I would be more then pleased There are already some shouts in game that would be a nice addition to our own:

Bex=can open easy locks, add two more words of power and you can open harder locks
Slen Tiid Vo=resurrects dead npcs and creatures to fight for the player.Last word of power even lets you resurrect a fallen dragon to fight for a limited amout of time but at a cost of a dragon soul.
Ven Mul Riik=a mist effect materialises around the player raising stealth 25,50 and 100% respectively. At full power the mist makes the player impossible to see, hear and summons ethereal decoys out of the vapours.
Fiik Lo Sah=Makes ethereal dummies of the player for combat practice.

Why does everyone think that because we found coding of vampires and a snow prince that that is the only thing the dlc will have in it?

The snow prince could be a miniscule thing in the dlc, and they could just be adding new vampire animations for the player to use. How can you see those things and jump to that conclusion?

My random speculation is, it's a small body of land w/ many things to do and the main quest revolves around something, although not sure what.

And my long run guess, by the end of their DLC, your PC will be on their way to becoming emporer. You know, cause you're a reincarnation of Talos. :)

Gonna start a new game as a nord, and name him Hjalti.

I hope so too.
I liked both KOTN and Shivering Isles but the latter is one of the best expansions ever made.

I personally hope there are not more Shouts. That would be redundant. An expansion should be its own story with its own theme - something that can be enjoyed independent of the main Skyrim content. There could be and should be some interesting new mechanic similar to Shouts, just like the new Powers that were introduced in Oblivion's expansions, but they shouldn't be Shouts.

The more I think about it, the more convinced I am this has something to do with Meridia, possibly the Colored Rooms. On careful inspection, the glow of the Dovahkiin's eyes is exactly the same color as Dawnbreaker's glow.

If this has to do with Meridia I hope we're not fighting against her/her minions. And it would be great to visit her realm.

I would be surprised. Most of what makes me think it involves Meridia must also involve being her champion, or something along those lines.

Because randomly spouting out something seems more relevant then making an educated guess based on files we know exist already. And what you just said describes Solstheim, in which case see:Bloodmoon

You're indeed entitled to your opinion, but criticizing others for citing a more relevant "source" then your own isn't a wise decision.

Keeping in mind that The Shivering Isles came out a full year after Oblivion :P Plus, Bethesda has been patching Skyrim pretty extensively since launch. That being said, BGS has grown, iirc, so I wouldn't write of a fairly substantial DLC, particularly when we remember it wont be out until at least June, if not July or August.

I'm inclined to think we'll be seeing crossbows soon, if not in this one, then on their own or with a different DLC. I'm looking forwards to those.

That's the trick now, how do the Snow Prince, Falmer, and/or crossbows relate to Dawnguard, and vice versa? I honestly have no idea. My first though is of Meridia to tell the truth.

Yeah. Ooh, maybe the Snow Prince is coming back undead? That could potentially tie in Meridia as well.

Lets try and figure this out. Does anyone with some programming have insight?

How many people would you guess it takes to really do all the patching that they have done?

I suppose for every person you have fixing things, you probably need a couple of people just playing the game with the new fixes to see if they work/wreck something else.

I know nothing about it, so i'm just pulling this out of nowhere, but maybe they had 2/3 of their team working on new stuff, and 1/3 working on the fixes. If thats the case, i would think it would be a pretty substantial DLC thats coming out in a month and a half or two months or whenever.

If, on the other hand, some of the programmers moved on to a new game, and the rest were working on the fixes until the last patch came out, then it probably wont be much bigger than the fallout DLCs

Bethesda has said that the main DLC's will basically be expansion packs, and i think they said somewhere (can't remember where) that there would be three of them. I wouldn't worry about it.

I am soo excited for this DLC unfortunately for me, i hate xbox. Anywayz i think this dlc is going to add the lycanthropy perk tree, possibly also a vampire perk tree as well, and improve and expand on both vampires and werewolves, dawnstar is going to be the first avenue to go off into our dlcs, im guessing a ship to an island, maybe solstheim, maybe the elven homeland, spears and crossbows are probably going to be added, and i think their might be 2 seperate quest lines for it, there is that faction of monster hunters, u see them patrolling occasionally, but they have no quests or anything i have found yet and i cant remeber their name, i think its going to have to do with them, the falmer and the thalmor

My best guess is that this DLC is going to add....approximately 20 hours of awesome new content to my Skyrim game experience.

The only thing I don't understand about Werewolf/Vampire Perk trees is this, how will they be implemented? Will it be tied to your Character Level, or to a new Werewolf/Vampire skill?

The only possible way I could see them actually leveling up is that you gain perks depending on how many NPCs you actually kill as a Vampire or Werewolf. This would be a departure from the typical skill trees but would still seem to fit the basic mold.

That makes sense actually, I had been thinking Character level, but I hadn't thought of it from that angle. It could also be tied to NPCs feed upon perhaps?

Yeah..in the case of Vampires either/ or. Maybe a slight bonus for using the drain essence ability.

Not sure if it has been suggested (and not wanting to sift through 5 pages) but with Alduin "dead" and his link as being first child of Akatosh (and possibly one of his aspects) and the
Spoiler:
time jumping via the Elder Scroll
, perhaps things have been shaken up enough to cause another Dragonbreak.

If time went all wonky again seeing a full fledged Snow Elf might not be hard to fathom. So, in this instance, Dawnguard could refer to things shifting back to the Mythic Era at the dawn of time, resulting in Dovahkiin having to fix it. Having a soul of a dragon would allow him/her special privileges and considering dragons are descended from Akatosh (god of time) it sort of makes sense.

Here is a quote from Where were you when the Dragon Broke, the edit in brackets is obviously mine.
Mannimarco, God of Worms, the Necromancers:

“The Three Thieves of Morrowind could tell you where they were. So could the High King of Alinor, who was the one who broke it in the first place. There are others on this earth that could, too: Ysmir, Pelinal, Arnand the Fox or should I say Arctus[edit: all Shezzarines?]? The Last Dwarf would talk, if they would let him. As for myself, I was here and there and here again, like the rest of the mortals during the Dragon Break. How do you think I learned my mystery? The Maruhkati Selectives showed us all the glories of the Dawn so that we might learn, simply: as above, so below.”
So it may be time reverting to how it was at the mythic dawn (not to be confused with the cult).

Just and idea...though it's probably just about Meridia, hahaha.

I don't know what it will be like...
I'm just really upset that bethesda said that they wont make any small DLC for skyrim
Which means Skyrim wont have DLC houses,
Which means, I can't have the skyrim version of battlehorn castle,
I really wish they made stuff like that, ecspecially because I play on xbox and I can't get mods
Maybe Dawnguard will have it's own houses

Actually, I was suggesting in another thread that the Mannimarco quote may be a clue about the MMO, not Dawnguard, since we know Mannimarco plays a role in Elder Scrolls Online. But perhaps Dawnguard is a reference to these events as well. A Dragon Break does revert Tamriel to a Dawn like era temporarily until the Jills of Akatosh can rebuild the Dragon. Is it possible that destroying Alduin, his firstborn, results in a similar phenomenon?
