Weird save game name issue

Post by rpbraley868 »

So i was going to move my save games around and ive come across a strange issue.........half my save game names are written in.... Chinese?

畃牲湥⁴慓敶猀❮⁴桴⁥楈桧䔠晬眠 -Save5
慍湩儠敵瑳甀汩d⁦潍湲湩⁧瑓牡攀 -Save0

So i cant identify which save file is which. But is it like that for anyone else?

Wow, that is weird, that has never happened to me. I suppose you could just remember which slot has which game?

BTW, Google translate claims that the first one means "Sun offerings Tu the the ⁴ Piaozhen Sha ❮ the ⁴ rafter ⁥ Xu Hui 䔠 Zui Mian" and the second is "The bland Tongladicuo Zhui confused d ⁦ Wei torrential Breast - feeding ⁧ Lian Mu climb", so it's not much help. And "torrential breast-feeding" sounds like a superpower from an uber-feminist comic. ;)

More boringly, it looks like Save5 is "Current Save" and Save0 is
"Main Quest".

Your first line 畃牲湥⁴慓敶猀❮⁴桴⁥楈桧䔠晬眠 encoded as ucs-2
(how windows generally encodes unicode) is (byte by byte, in hex):

43 75 72 72 65 6e 74 20 53 61 76 65 00 73 6e 27
74 20 74 68 65 20 48 69 67 68 20 45 6c 66 20 77

but this (in ascii) is just
Current Save\0sn't the High Elf w
(where \0 is a byte with value zero, used to terminate strings in c),
so this save was most recently saved as "Current Save".

Similar for Save0.

It looks like you may be viewing the saved-name file in an editor
that expects ucs-2, or you copied it with a copier that expects the same
thing.

Ah! thanks lol
I just opened the file in notepad (which was its default) and some of them were in english. Odd that they were different.
I had no idea that you could tell all that just by the save name
