Re: Favourite Race
I haven't played all of the races yet but I'm so terrible at the game that I doubt their skills would really affect my overall view of them. From my point of view my favourites are probably the Khajiit, mainly because I love cats, but also because I find the whole backstory of their race so interesting. They seem to be racially abused and discriminated against just because they're different to everyone else, and so many of them seem to have the sad stories to match their mistreatment.
Re: Favourite Race
I play mostly always as a Khajiit but I voted Argonian cause I love them both equally. My first character ever was Argonian I think in morrowind. Khajiit and Argonian have the underdog thing to them, and also theyre both quite sneaky which suits the characters I play.

And you can justify the killing of slave owners, and that's a plus!
Re: Favourite Race
For me I have to say Orc and Dunmer a close second

Re: Favourite Race
My favourite race would definantley be the Breton, I mean come on, you get a magicka bonus! Plus dragon skin is nice too... Although I don't play as Khajiit, I think they're an awesome race not only because of the cat-like appaerance, but eye of night is a great spell.

Re: Favourite Race
Well, Altmer get Magicka boosts, too, and if you choose Atronach as your birthsign, it helps against the Weaknesses. Also Cuirass of the Saviour's Hide works well.

Argonians FTW!
They have a boost to spears! also is very amazing all the mistery of teir lore and attitude!
You ca also use a "slave-background" for an awesome roleplay.

Argonians on top probably. Bosmer and Bretons tie for second. Though I pretty much like all the races in their own way :3

Re: Favourite Race
Argonians. Because of their hip-hoppity running animation and that it's easy to sympathise for their plight in Morrowind.
Unplayable speaking, I'd say dremora. They look and feel so much more better than the later incarnations we see in TES IV/V.

I love Dunmer and Bretons equally, but I have to say in Morrowind my favorite was the Dunmer.

Re: Favourite Race
They aren't to bad actually, and can make great Atronach-Battlemages. I think a lot of people just prefer the more 'unique' races which are not full-blooded humans.LongLiveTheEmpire wrote:Hardly anyone likes Imperials? How sadI love Imperials they are absolutely great in Morrowind.
One of the benefits of the Imperials though is their 'HUGE' personality boost, I mean they start off with 50 and you can add another 35 to that at the beginning. You could pretty much get what you wanted most of the game with that kind of number, not to mention the fact they have the Charm spell which makes you irresistible.
I may actually make a smooth-talking Hlaalu(despite my hate for them) Imperial thief at some point. Could be mighty enjoyable having everyone not want to rip my face off.

Re: Favourite Race
That's basically the character I am playing now. Everyone just likes him immediately. And Empire, I am a fan of Imperials, though I guess I haven't voted in this poll (considering there are 14 others scattered around this site haha). Imperials were the first race I played in the ES games, so hold a special place for me.Dean wrote:They aren't to bad actually, and can make great Atronach-Battlemages. The dunmer are my favourite.
Not because they're ''unique'' or ''cool'' but they resemble my people in history, culture and mentality.
Great houses system and ''ashlander'' tribes, ancestor worship (not any more), the haircuts (not any more) etc.
Actually to much to name.

Re: Favourite Race
I agree with you, Imperials are the best. Though not because they are the first race I played in an Elder Scrolls game (That honor would go to the Wood Elves). I like Imperials because they are most like the humans of today and I love the idea of playing as my own race in a video game with a wide variety of different races to choose from. I also love the Empire and everything about it so yes I agree, Imperials hold a very special place with me aswell.scribbane wrote:That's basically the character I am playing now. Re: Favourite Race
Bosmers are the best for two reasons.
In Morrowind, Bosmers' eyes are all deeply dark, and so for this simple fact, they totally fit well with the dark ambient of the game. They don't have the physic of a Nord, but they have their one skill of archery that no others have. I mean, take distance : if you wanna be a warrior, you can chose orc, nord, imperial, dunmer, redguard... If you wanna play a mage, breton, high elf, dark elf, etc... But an archer, ONLY Bosmer rules !!
The second reason is that they are not in the high hierarchy of the game, they don't occupy the highest seats in any town, and yet, they have a great reputation, knowing more than any other how natural life is.
Go Bosmers !!

Re: Favourite Race
Dunmer, naturally. And seeing how they have lived for over 4000 years on a very hostile land and flourished, it can be said that the dunmer are pretty badbutt.

Re: Favourite Race
I like Wood Elves the best, to be honest. I just find it highly appealing to be small, and fast I guess. lol
Dunmer, would be my 2nd favorite. With Altmer probably coming in a distant 3rd.
