He sat down by a table, throwing his pack on top it, and taking out some dried fruit to eat instead.

Spoiler:
You talking to me, gurl?
Llarays got out his sword, and began swinging it around in strokes, careful not to break anything.

"Llarays, get something to eat. I won't be stopping until we get to Vivec, so if you don't eat now, you mightn't eat until we get there."

"Right." Llarays took a piece of jerky out of his pack, now very hard after the time it had been in there. He began chewing.

Thoryn had risen early once more, and had left the others to hunt along the fertile Odai plateau. Now he returned, a nix-hound slung across his shoulder, he began skinning the beast with a hunting knife, before cutting it into portions, most of which he wrapped in cloth and salt he had lifted from one of the abandoned houses.

"When do you plan to set out?" he asked Leiden, as he took the remaining meat and began setting up a cooking pot hee had also lifted from one of the other houses, above the fireplace.

Nightrunner awoke and opened his door. He strolled past his three companions in glorious nudity, whistling a tune. He went out into the sun baked city to collect his gear. As he had thought, the sun had dried it out wonderfully. He quickly dressed and went for a small walk, glad for the feel of clean clothing against his skin. In the courtyard of the temple he found a small decrepit apple tree. the apples were surprisingly crisp and juicy. He picked about 10 and returned to the guild hall, dropping them on the table.

Nightrunner felt sorry for his companions who only had stale bread and old jerky to eat. "Here, eat these, they're good."

"Were you just..." Leiden shook his head. "I don't want that image in my head. I'm going to pretend it never happened." Leiden took an apple, and bit into it. "Qa'Mhirr! Let's go!" He yelled, before turning to Thoryn. "As soon as possible. If we get going, we could make it to Vivec by the end of the day. I can almost taste it now."

Llarays took an apple. "You mean Vivec is the apple?" he asked. Biting into it, he put his sword down, and began readying himself.

Qa'Mhirr strolled in from outside, dragging a line of small fish with him, "Some of us don't sleep through the dawn," he said as he made his way over to Thoryn.
He strung the fish on a mantle piece and helped the dunmer set up the cooking pot, "If you plan on making it to the city in a day, it'd be better if we started on a big meal, rather then stopping in the midday sun."
"Or trying to protect ourselves on an empty stomach in Vivec," he went over and grabbed some pieces of wood from some broken chairs and room dividers, throwing them in the fireplace beneath the pot.
Reaching in with his left paw, he lit the dry wood with a quick spell and he turned to Thoryn, "Stew or surf and turf chowder?" pointing at his small catch hanging nearby.

"There's plenty of meat," Thoryn declared, "Here, take this," he said, handing Qa'Mhirr one of the parcel's he had set aside earlier, "Best to consume it while it's fresh at any rate." He took several strips of meet and set them aside, working on the fire to bring the flat metal plate he was using as a hotplate up to an adequate heat, when he was satisfied he set the strips to sizzle momentarily and when they were done, took them off the heat.

"I suppose you're right..." Leiden said reluctantly. "But I want to get moving soon. So, let's keep it quick."

Qa'Mhirr took the wrapped meat and walked over to the room he had slept in, still barricaded; he disappeared and reappeared a few minutes later with his gear.
From his pack, he pulled out a few steel bolts and began impaling his fish on them one by one, then stabbing them into the hearth stones at an angle towards the fire.
After a few minutes passed, he pulled them out with him mechanical hand and set them aside to cool.

"Vivec... almost." Leiden said. "Didn't think we'd get here, to be honest." Leiden admitted. "After Stros died... thought it was a bad omen. Glad to see we're not dead... well, most of us, anyway." He finished, grimly. "Sorry, being a bit miserable."

Llarays looked at the meat. "If we can just make it to Vivec... then again, what if we don't survive on the way somewhere after getting to Vivec?" he muttered, frowning.

"That'd suck, that's for certain." Leiden said. "I don't want to try and deal with the Argonians down south either - I'd rather deal with the Empire than have the Argonians realize what this land is worth. No offense, Nightrunner, but you did invade once."

"Black Marsh probably knows of the precious metals on this island with the amount of former slaves in their ranks, they just tend towards lighter and flexible materials," Qa'Mhirr interjected,
"Probably find no use here, no point in gathering resources you don't use and don't trade, given their apparent isolation," he picked up a skewered fish and sprinkled some sugar on it, taking a testing bite.
Content with the taste, he began eating

Thoryn portioned off his steaks with bread he had allowed to soak on one side in the juices of the pan, which had begun to cool. Offering one to Llarays he begun to devour his own. "There will be much to do once we reach Vivec. I take it we will have to see to more permanent fortifications if we plan on resting there for a prolonged while."

Llarays took it with gratitude, and took a fish, putting it on his bread. Happily, he began munching, silently competing with Thoryn to see who could eat faster.

"Fish!" Nightrunner exclaimed happily. He hadn't eaten fish in a very long time. He grabbed one and wrapped it in a piece of bread, smiling broadly. "No offense taken Leiden." Nightrunner said, savouring every bite of fish he took. "But if your race had been enslaved for a thousand years, you would invade when you had the chance as well." Reaching into his bag Nightrunner pulled out a small bottle of Flin he had lifted from the manor. He took a long swig before handing it to Llarays.

"The Dunmer of old enslaved everyone, not just Argonians. But I take your point, even if I see the invasion opportunistic. Slavery is and always has been wrong." Leiden then turned to Thoryn, while at the same time taking a fish. "I'd like to sell the spoils first - that should give us the opportunity to get fortification, trade lines and workers here. That's if you'd like to stay on. That offer extends to all of you. I should be able to do it on my own with what I've discovered, but I said it at the beginning - equal shares."

Llarays thought back to the Manor. "Equal shares," he mumbled, "that sounds fine."

"What do you mean by that?" Leiden asked, sensing sarcasm in his tone. "We've yet to cash in our loot, let alone get to Vivec, which was what the job actually is." He said. "Anything we pick up along the way isn't something that can really be split, unless you'd like to try and convince any of us to give away what we already have."

"Qa'Mhirr would guess a giant crater lined with shiny things," he said between mouthfuls, "Water level notwithstanding."
He reached up and grabbed the bottle of flin that Llarays was failing to notice, lifting a piece of hard bread, then soaking it with the flin and replacing the bottle.
"No offense, but khajiit makes more money on the move then sitting around, that and this one isn't really suited to working around a mine."

"I will have to see what transpires when we reach Vivec," Thoryn sighed, his original quest pushed to the forefront of his mind, "But I know that whatever may happen, one day I shall return to Vivec to find it rebuilt and flourishing once more under your direction."
