Most difficult enemy
Most difficult enemy
Who do you think the most difficult enemy in the game is.
My nomination for the overall most ridiculous enemy, at least at the level it starts appearing at is the Will-o-the-wisp. Unless you have very strong magic attacks it is going to be very difficult to kill those things. They are 100% immune to normal weapons, so you are forced to use silver weapons (at least before level 20), which are several grades weaker than the best available weapons at the time. And, their absorb health spells are so strong that they will be absorbing more health than you can deal damage (plus taking your own health in the process). That, plus their lovely attribute damage attack and tendency to go invisible between attacks. Unless you're a mage or have heavy magic resistance (Breton, Atronach birthsign, etc), there's almost no way to beat them; I guess you can try killing them with silver arrows while staying out of their range, but that takes forever.
The only easy thing is they seem to have pretty poor vision/awareness, so it's pretty easy to sneak around them and just avoid combat with them.

I don't think any enemy's are all too difficult (besides those giant walking alligators) but one of the most ANNOYING enemies are zombies. For an archer like me, it's just painful to see so many arrows go to waist on a single zombie. If i was skilled in blade or anything like that i'd use it but I only have arrows so, its a shame.

If you're having the biggest problem with Dread Zombies (the mean, stinky ones), one possible explanation is the fact that Dread Zombies have natural Health regeneration, much like Trolls. You take your sweet time in killing one, and he's going to slowly heal back up again.Agent wrote:I don't think any enemy's are all too difficult (besides those giant walking alligators) but one of the most ANNOYING enemies are zombies. Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

I actually find zombies incredibly easy to deal with using marksman. They have to be the stupidest AI enemy; you can sit 10 ft from them in sneak mode and plant sneak arrow attacks on them again and again; it usually takes at most 3-4 to take them out. Things like wolves and mountain lions are much worse than zombies if you want to stick with archery attacks.

Mountain lions are the enemies I hate most... coming out of nowhere and just slashing the crap out of me.... Gah. Even bears aren't that bad. At least with a Minotaur Lord I can see him coming. And the will-o-wisps are just fine for me. I have a character that I'm not leveling up at all and he did all the fighter's guild quests. Had to take out 3 of the f-ers. It was surprisingly easy. Then again that could just be because my character is level 1....

Mountain Lions are a true test for a character at first appearance. Fast closure, rapid delivery of attacks, and the high damage makes the likelihood of stagger-lock all too high. And if you find yourself in over your head, don't bother running— they'll begin eating you feet-first if need be.
Of course, they don't like water...

Goblins are the most annoying thing in the game to me. The fact that they sound like deranged monkeys just ups the annoyance factor to me.
But you're talking about most difficult. Hmm. I use Martigen's Monster Mod, so there's quite a larger variety of stuff to deal with, and some of it is brutally tough. You think mountain lions are bad? Try fighting a black panther or diseased puma! Or slimes. Gawd I hate those things.
But from the "vanilla" monster list, I'd have to say the one I hate seeing the most is the Spider Daedra. Though they are going to be a non-threat this time, as I have 100% magic resist and haven't even closed the first Gate yet.
And I hate stagger-lock! argh.

It's easy to kill both with a fast blade weapon, just go forward, hit him a bunch of times, go back, and keep doing that until its dead. Blade is a pretty good backup for archers.Agent wrote:I don't think any enemy's are all too difficult (besides those giant walking alligators) but one of the most ANNOYING enemies are zombies. Mountain Lions really weren't a problem for me. I mean, I only did face them once and was only for one of the Fighter's Guild quests. I was at lvl 11 or 12 and had an Elven Bow w/ Silver Arrows. They went down in a few shots and didn't do all that much damage. Than again, by the time they reached me they were dead.Dark Spark wrote:Mountain Lions are a true test for a character at first appearance. The Starving Mountain Lions of the Fighters' Guild quest are drastically nerfed, since they reasonably expected new players to encounter the animals well before reaching Level 10.Agent wrote: Mountain Lions really weren't a problem for me. Yeah, try being at the levels where mountain lions just start appearing, walk off the bridge connecting Weye to the IC and just keep walking down the road... suddenly you hear a roaring noise and BAM, you're staggering out of nowhere and your health is disintegrating.... Not a fun experience.
Those fighter's guild starved lions are newbs in comparison.
Although, last time I did that quest one got glitched into a rock and continuously knocked out the guy that goes with you... even I couldn't get to the da** thing until it glitched itself back out. But that's the only time one ever posed a relative threat (possible reload moment).

That makes perfect sense, lol. The real thing feels like it's going to be a bit of a challenge than.Dark Spark wrote:The Starving Mountain Lions of the Fighters' Guild quest are drastically nerfed, since they reasonably expected new players to encounter the animals well before reaching Level 10.Agent wrote: Mountain Lions really weren't a problem for me. If you're at 102 blade, chances are you are already at a relatively high level (probably 20+ unless you have been power/spam levelling). At those levels, mountain lions become basically annoying pest animals. However, at the time they first show up, at level 12 I think, they are very tough because of their speed and powerful melee attack. The first time you see them do their pounce attack is pretty scary too. For an archer character, it's next to impossible to kill them with arrows; all you can do is hope to get the initial sneak attack then use some type of melee weapon.

Yeah I see what you mean. I'm on level 37 now. This is the only charachter that I have ever had. To be honest most creatures are pretty easy nowjdh79 wrote:If you're at 102 blade, chances are you are already at a relatively high level (probably 20+ unless you have been power/spam levelling). There are lots of ways to get an enchanted weapon early on, even at level 1... I got an enchanted Claymore while doing the Raid on Greyland quest (I just ran the guy to the guard and let him do all the work!) Enchanted sword, free house, woo hoo!
Anyhoo, I use a LOT of paralysis + damage poisons, and haven't found much yet to be a real challenge, so I eek up the difficulty slider. Then again, I've put off doing the main quest, so maybe that's why....

It took me 20 min to kill one of those things. They hang around in Mankar Camerons paradise.
