As He Lay Dying
Spoiler:
Image
When he finally stumbled out of his quarters, bleary-eyed and shaky, all the other apprentices had already started going about their daily routine. Atmah was sitting barricaded behind a huge pile of books, Hafnar was practicing Destruction spells, Elvali was brewing some suspiciously smelling liquid, and Takes-In-Light and Girduin were arguing over something in front of an arcane enchanter.
'Hey... Morning, guys,' he said with a meek wave of his hand, his voice failing him.
Hafnar, who had turned away from his target to replenish his magicka, caught sight of him and grinned, his eyebrows raised in a sly, understanding expression, 'Hiya, Savos! Rough night, eh? Told you it was a bad idea to test that potion on yourself'.
He shook his head, gulping loudly, 'It... It wasn't that. I had this horrible nightmare...'
Hafnar laughed, 'About failing your exams? Don't tell me you are becoming like Atmah!'.
'I heard that, you wise guy!' came the indignant response out of the book fortress.
'Touchy-touchy!' Hafnar called out mockingly, 'That's life, you know - if a fellow has a crush on an egghead, he turns into an egghead himself... Okay, okay, mate, don't blush,' he added, giving Savos a friendly pat on the back, 'Let's hear all about this nightmare of yours, then'.
'Well, it's kind of like this,' Savos began falteringly, 'I dreamt that all of us had finished the College and become sorcerers...'
'Doesn't sound like a nightmare to me,' Elvali remarked, looking up from her bubbling, gurgling and smoking alchemy reaction.
Savos forced a small, crooked smile, 'There was much more to it than that. In my dream, we went on an expedition to the Labyrinthian... And there were things in there... Horrible things... All kinds of undead, and...' he shuddered, 'A skeletal dragon!'.
'Skeletal dragon? Pretty nifty! Wish I had dreams like that!' said Girduin, setting aside his soul gems and preparing, arms crossed leisurely on his chest, to listen to the continuation of Savos's story.
'And as we went on and on, deeper and deeper into the ruin, some of you guys got killed...'
Takes-In-Light snorted, 'Goes to show your real attitude towards us'.
'No, no, you don't understand!' Savos protested, 'It was... It was torture for me to see you go, but... but I felt I just had to press on, because there was no going back! And then... when there were only three of us left - Atmah, Hafnar and me - we reached the final chamber, and there we awoke the most terrifying undead creature of all! It was immensely powerful, and we couldn't overcome it, and...' he covered his face with his hands, choking on tears, 'I dreamt that I... that I turned on you, Hafnar, and on Atmah... and I used your souls to bind the monster in place, because I saw no other way of stopping it... And...' his voice was now no more than a whisper, and the others, including Atmah, much as she pretended to be absorbed in her revision, had to strain their hearing to make out his next words, 'I... I abandoned you there... and I fled... back to the College...'
There followed a tense, brooding silence, broken at length by Atmah saying, in an extremely exasperated tone, 'Oh please, Savos! Don't you realize how immature it is to have a breakdown over some silly nightmare when there are so many other things you need to worry about? Like exams!'.
'The teacher's pet does have a point, old man,' Hafnar winked encouragingly, 'Don't be such a wimp. It was all a dream, after all. We are all here, together, alive and well, and my soul is just as firmly attached to my insides as ever... Not sure about Atmah's soul, though - she might have lost it in the ocean of homework'.
This time Savos's attempt at smiling was more successful.
'That's the spirit!' Hafnar exclaimed, throwing his arm around his best friend's shoulders, 'Remember: it was all a dream. Just a dream! Now, everybody, come over here - let's give Savos a great big group hug!'
Exchanging looks that were warm with hidden laughter, Takes-In-Light and Girduin were the first to join Hafnar in the living circle that closed in round the sheepishly grinning Savos; then Elvali came up, dragging the seemingly reluctant Atmah behind her by the hand. For a few moments there was nothing but arms intertwining, and faces pressing against one another, and hearts beating at each other's side. All of a sudden, Savos felt strangely warm and elated, ecstatic almost, hanging on greedily to this precious moment when all six of them were one.
'I love you guys,' he whispered into an ear which he could not identify. Somewhere behind his back, someone's voice murmured, soft and reassuring, 'It was all a dream... All a dream...'
Of course it had been a dream! There had never been any expedition to the Labyrinthian, there had never been any monster, any sacrifice... And there never would be! This was the reality - him and his friends together, and it would never change, never! And to think that for a moment, he feared... Savos laughed at his own stupidity - but somehow, it hurt him to laugh, as if his ribs were dislocated and pierced through his flesh with each breath taken. He wondered if Hafnar, with his Nordic strength and warm-heartedness, had squeezed him in his embrace a bit too tight - but Hafnar was gone, and so was everyone else. He was all alone, lying awkwardly in the College courtyard, his body warped by burning pain, and snow was falling noiselessly round him in large soft flakes, which melted in the white wisps of his hoarse, gasping breath and in the billowing steam that rose from the scorchingly hot pool of his blood. The truth flooding his dying mind like a tidal wave, he moved his eyes, blinded by tears, towards the indifferently grey sky, and gazed unblinkingly at the falling snow, till finally his face stiffened into a twisted mask - the mask of horror at wakening to reality.
In between the lines there's a lot of obscurity.
I'm not inclined to resign to maturity.

Yesterday I married Jenassa with my Dunmer assassin and an Orc bandit showed up in the chapel.

After the wedding was over he grabbed his sword, flexed some muscles, and kept repeating "Congratulations on your wedding. I'm so happy for both of you."

It was damn strange

Playing as Asgeir, the cursed nord whose soul was split into several pieces and given to every daedric lord in exchange for saving his family's life, and who was put into a sleep for 200 years before waking up near the town of Helgen before it was destroyed. On his quest to serve the daedra in order to regain his soul back, he met his descendant, Vorstag, who joined him on his quest once Asgeir told him about everything. He warned Vorstag of the vile things he might see, but still Vorstag accompanied him.

As they approached the town of Morthal, a bandit approached and attacked the two of them. The bandit was quickly dispatched. Turning around, however, they witnessed a large battle between necromancers, bandits, and orcs. They tried to get away without being noticed, but several took notice of them and began to attack.

As Asgeir carved through the enemies with the Rueful Axe that he earned from Clavicus Vile, he heard a sound; Vorstag was impaled on an orc warrior's sword, dropping the Mace of Molag Bal and Spellbreaker on the ground and falling, dead.

Asgeir survived the battle and recovered the artifacts that Vorstag was carrying, but it was clear now that all he knew of his descendency was dead.

(This actually happened, I fast traveled and landed right in the middle of a three way brawl. I miss Vorstag, but this was just too cool to not continue playing afterwards.)

22nd of Sun's Dusk

I must have angered the gods or maybe luck wasn't on my side. My faithful steed and I sauntered along a road hoping to find some fresh game. It was my bad luck that I stumbled upon an Imperial Camp and they weren't too happy to see me. My demonic mare charged into the fray kicking her hooves at the Commander, effectively rendering her unconscious. One of the soldiers suddenly changed his focus from me to my steed. I didn't worry much, my horse was unstoppable. I ducked below an overhang and leaped nimbly onto a rock. The soldiers below were inept with a bow and arrow and I ended up taunting them for a good half hour before taking one out with my own set of archery equipment. Suddenly, a familiar roar resounded in the valley, shaking the very earth as the sound bounced off the stone walls. Dragons. There was no mistaking it. I rolled off the rock, pulling out my daggers and slicing the remaining soldiers' throats. The dragon let out another mighty roar as it circled, looking for a good vantage point to turn me into Fried Khajiit. I squinted to get a closer look at the mighty Dovah as it hovered over the camp, frying the last remaining Imperial Soldier. Light gray, black spikes, icy breath. I was dealing with a Frost Dragon. I couldn't do this with only Shadowmere as my back up. Dovah vs. Dovah vs. Dovah. That always makes for a heated battle.

"Oh-Dah-VIING!" - My Thu'Um rang across the land, summoning my trusted ally. Meanwhile, I had to hold this dragon off. Shadowmere may be strong, but she wasn't invincible. "Hey! Slug Breath!" I snarled. The dragon snarled as it swung its mighty head to eye me. He seemed to recognize me - the defeater of Alduin, the World Eater. He flapped his wings and ignored my horse, instead focusing on me - his true rival. The gray reptile let out a mighty "FO!" and I stumbled, tripping over a rock leaving myself open and vulnerable to an attack. I cowered as the gray dragon reared up, its mouth curling into a sinister smile as it prepared to say one word and effectively end the tale of the legendary Dovahkiin. However, the fates disagreed with the dragon. So did Ohdahviing. A shadow, black as the Void, sliced through the air, and roared, "YOL!" at my would-be-killer.* Finally. Backup was here. The great gray dragon swung its spiked tail as it turned around to face Ohdahviing and I was forced to roll out of the way to avoid it. I scrambled away, chugging potion after potion until my stomach was about to send all of my health right back up. By now, the two dragons were using the skies as an endless arena, diving and flipping while sending great gusts of fire and ice at each other. Now was my chance to end this..."Joor Zah FRUL!" Again, my Thu'Um soared as a blue ring at the Frost Dragon's soul, lashing at its soul and bringing the beast down to the Earth. "Now you're mine," I snarled, flashing my teeth. I knocked my arrow and sent it flying right at his eye, blinding him. He roared in frustration, lashing about randomly, almost sending me into orbit - or to the moon. "YOL!" Two voices shouted in unison, Ohdahviing and I had both taken advantage of his weakness, ending his life. Sparks leaped from his corpse as it began to glow and shatter. All that was left as a reminder of the great fight was a gleaming white skeleton.

I was about ready to retire for the night and head to the nearest village but apparently, the gods were holding some grudges. A Sabre cat, lying in ambush suddenly crashed into me, knocking the wind out of me. I struggled to pry myself free, but it was useless. I don't know where my steed had gone for the duration of my fierce dragon battle, but out she came and decided to engage in battle with a giant cat. I grabbed my two daggers and stabbed the bloody thing in the heart, ending the battle almost as quickly as it had started. Well, by now I was sure that the gods had really started to hate me because a wolf pack decided that I was a tasty meal. I made short work of them but by now, I was getting a bit annoyed. I mounted my steed and galloped off to the nearby village of Rorikstead. Well, guess who was waiting for me? Apparently an Elder Dragon was just flying around waiting for me to come on by so I would make a tasty meal. Unexpectedly, two soldiers charged out of the nearby inn, axes and maces glinting in the moonlight, bravely challenging the dragon. It was a bit of a stupid move, but hey they were Nords. All they got in return for their heroism was a nice blast of fire to their faces...and death. Ohdahviing must have heard my yells of terror because I soon heard another pair of wings soaring toward me. I dashed up a cliff so I could be a bit closer to my foe. For some reason, Ohahviing looked like the Black Plague or something because the Elder Dragon decided that he couldn't best us and fled. I flopped on the ground, exhausted, before making my way to the inn. I'm pretty sure the innkeeper was deaf or somehow didn't notice that a ferocious dragon battle just happened outside and I just saved his town because all I got was a rude remark about travelers. Sometimes I wonder if the Dovahkiin is old news or nobody cares that I saved the world.

*I have an Ohdahviing retexture that makes him almost all black with red eyes so I have like a demonic army of ghosts and dragons and horses...

I'ma go ahead and put the whole thing in a spoiler, so I don't have to spoiler individual bits. - Spoilers contained are about the Thieves Guild. So, if you've done all that, you don't have to worry.
Spoiler:
I think the most interesting thing that's happened in my game so far, is the fact that all the followers I've had that have died, have either been killed by another follower, or got in to way of one of my attacks... None of them had died by trap or enemy yet... XD
I've got the Ultimate Follower Overhaul mod, so I could set them to essential, but I feel it's more interesting this way. I generally only have up to 3 followers at a time though, I don't know how anyone could handle 15!

At the moment I've just done enough of the thieves guild "special jobs" to do the really special job in each town, and the Thieves Guild is almost fully restored... I did it all before I even did the Goldenglow Estate mission XD

And now I'm trying to do all the Daedric Shrine missions, but there is one that I cannot do! I need some followers to help me, or I'm going to doe every time.

Wife and Housecarl in a fight!

Post by neXus »

I guess I should put this in spoilers, even though it's only about the first dark brotherhood mission.
Spoiler:
So I had just completed Innocence Lost, where I had to kill Grelod the Kind. I was rewarded with the Aretino Family Heirloom. As with any rare item, it went on display in Vlindrel Hall (the Markarth house). As soon as I set it on the shelf, Aegis (the housecarl) and Mjoll (wife) run over saying things like "Oooh what is that?!" and "That's mine!" and "Not if I get it first!"

So I sit back and watch this for a few seconds, and then Aegis punches her right in the face! She runs away, avoiding any sort of fight, and the Heirloom is still sitting on the shelf. But Aegis must not have liked her attitude, because he runs into the other room, grabs that Staff of Magnus (absorb 20 magicka/sec, or health if magicka is gone) off a rack, and uses the entire charge on her! But he wasn't finished; he pulled out his bow and unleashed with that.

Finally, after watching her suffer enough, I had to stand up for my wife. So i went over and punched Aegis a few times, he submitted, and the fight was over. But so much hate over a little plate?! Crazy

Ok...So..Heres the story.

I was just derping around in riverwood, and out of no where I hear a giant screetch, look up, see a dragon. No problem I thought.

Suddenly all the town NPCs start helping out, I was hoping non would die, luckly they all ran after a while.

So, I pulled the bow back, aimed at the dragons skull, ready to fire the final arrow.

SUDDENLY! Sigrid charges at the dragon WITH A KNIFE, and gets eaten as the arrow kills the dragon.

I finally had enough of Stenvar (my Altmer's husband). Afterfinishing up a quest for Septimus, I lured Stenvar out by the shore and blew him up. I threw both our rings at his body. I eventually went back to my Solitude hom and Jordis won't talk to me now. I can click on her but she doesnt speak. It is really weird but prob a bug.

I had been hunting an elk when an ancient dragon flew out of nowhere. I was level 20 and had no chance of beating it so what did I do, what any smart person would do in this situation. I ran straight towards a giant camp the dragon flew after me. He used fire breath while flying and hit two giants and two mammoths. The giants didn't like that. So when the dragon landed they all ran up and pounded it with their clubs. They basically pounded it so hard it got stuck in the ground. The giants walked away so I was able to absorb its soul.

Esbern killed my freaking follower!!!

So... here's the story:

After trashing the Thalmor Embassy Yakov, along with his new follower Belrand (after Brelyna bit the dust), headed up to Riften to locate Esbern. After flipping off Brynjolf for suggesting him to do petty thievery, he went to find the man by his own accord. Everything went smoothly (unlike with Slythe who faced all the infamous Esbern glitches) BUT when came the time to head up to Riverwood it all went downhill. During their journey they had constant problems with Esbern's total disregard for the safety of his companions since he kept shooting fireballs with a VERY poor aim. More than once Yakov's twin Dremora Lords wanted to beat the living **** out of Esbern after the dude had accidentally blasted them as well. Yakov however avoided unnecessary violence by summoning the twins away.
But then came the time when Esbern managed to blast Belrand and Belrand didn't take it too well. So the nord went and handed the old man's butt to him by hacking away with the Mace of Molag Bal. However, Yakov could only stare with frustration when Esbern recovered and the pair resumed their fight, the result being: Belrand kicked the bucket. Yakov could hardly believe it and almost strangled Esbern when the man walked up to him like "Yo!" as if nothing happened. However, being a master at Conjuration Yakov just took a deep breath and summoned Belrand back as a Dead Thrall. He could hardly afford to lose all the stuff the nord was carrying.

"Wakey, wakey! Come back as a zombie!"

After this little incident Yakov made a decision to ditch all the followers. It's not like he even needed them battle-wise.
But still.... FREAKING ESBERN! >_<

Today I brawled Mikael to get him to stop going after Carlotta, or whatever her name is, and immediately after, he began singing Ragnar the Red, as if nothing had happened.

Felina, Onmund, and their dog Meeko entered the Bee and Barb late one night. Tired, hungry, and cranky from a long week of traveling, they just wanted a hot meal and a good night's rest. After feeding the dog a piece of rabbit haunch, Felina sat next to Marcurio, a fellow Imperial, to chit chat about life back in Cyrodiil. It was a nice conversation, until an old, booze-smelling man walked up to Felina and said "Be brief Imperial, there is only so much I can stand being down wind of your stench".

As he walked away to sit at a nearby table, Felina felt a surge of hotness course through her veins. How dare he speak to her in such a fashion? Who did he think he was to speak to the Dragonborn like that? Loyal to the Empire or not, an Imperial she was and racism against her own kind she would not stand for.

Quietly, she set her plate of food down next to her on the bench. She looked over at Meeko chewing on his rabbit haunch, and at Onmund standing in front of her in disbelief at what the old man had just said to his wife.

"I've got your back" Onmund whispered to Felina. She pulled out her poisoned, Nightingale blade, and blocking everyone else out in the Inn, she walked up to the old drunk, looked him in the eye, and shoved her blade into his chest. His eyes grew large in agony as he gasped for air. But it was too late. Dead he was.

Silence washed over the inn, except for Talen-jei's "My lady!"

Felina stood over the man's body, with a satisfied smile on her face. She sheathed her sword and slowly walked away from his body. Then in a second, she turned to the crowd gathering around her and yelled "Does anyone else feel like offending me today?!"

Immediately, a fight broke out. The man guarding the door pulled out his dagger and started to whack her, but Onmund was fast with his lighting. Using Voice of the Emperor, Felina was able to calm the crowd down. She looked around her and saw blood, food, tankards and stuff everywhere. Bolli, the fisherman, also lay dead. She glanced over at Marcurio, who had also jumped to her defense. Keerava shook her head and asked "What did you do, Dragonborn? You know I don't like magick!"

Felina ran over to Meeko and rubbed his fur, then gave her husband a hug and a kiss. She turned to Keerava and said "I will help you clean up the mess" Which she promptly did. She dragged both dead bodies into the basement with Talen-jei's help. They heard another fight breaking out upstairs and lightning bolts being shot. Felina ran upstairs and saw the bald man that had attacked her laying crippled on the ground with Onmund standing over him. "I will watch him".

The rest of the night and early morning, she spent cleaning up blood and trash from the inn. Satisfied that she had gotten away with defending her Imperial bloodline, Felina gladly paid the 60 gold coin that was asked of her bounty by a guard. At least she wouldn't have to deal with that old man's racism anymore.

I recently came across Salma and Beem-Ja. I found it pretty interesting to follow them through the ruin on their quest, and rather pride myself on saving Salma during the final battle (I was healing her like mad and got quite a few level-ups in Restoration).
It never cases to amaze me how any dungeon you come across in Skyrim might lead you to unique adventure.

I was climbing down a mountain on my horse, and forgot to press the toggle walk button, and so I ended up flying, instead of climbing. I did this maybe 3-4 times before I actually remembered to turn walking on. :p Hopefully I have learned my lesson.

Flying off high points on horseback is a never-ending source of acrobatic tricks. I blink at the screen dumbfoundedly whenever that happens to me.
Anyway, recently I discovered I had way too much spare cash from selling all those countless Dragon Bones (yay for the Steed Stone power and my enchanted boots!) and so I went to Eorlund to train in Smithing. The thing that still makes me all smug is that I trained five times when my levelling bar was already full, and so when I levelled up to 30 those five levels in Smithing counted towards my progress to level 31, but as I had still technically trained while on level 29, when I levelled up to 30 I was entitled to five more sessions. Which I did, pushing my level progress bar to 31 even further. Thus I advanced almost one whole level in a matter of a few minutes. I think I have just confused myself with my explanation, but oh well, I am still smug. Ebony Smithing, here I come! :)

Doing the quest waking nightmare in Dawnstar, as I killed the Nord at the end, he said Nerevar guide me. I find this odd, since Nerevar is a Dunmer saint, and this guy was also a priest of vaermina.

Do not forget there are two of them - a Nord and a Dunmer. Probably that was his buddy speaking, as this is a standard Dunmer phrase.

I was out on a cross-country Alchemy gathering trip, picking plants, catching dragonflies and whatnot. A real-life housefly crawled across the screen, and, for a couple of seconds, I was chasing it with the cursor, trying to get the "Take" prompt to come up.

After I caught myself on the cusp of reality, I turned the XBox off, went outside, and mowed the lawn. (But I kept an eye open for circling dragons.)

I was given the quest Boethiah's Calling, but decided not to do it; however, an unfinished quest dangling in my journal was not a very neat thing to have, so to get rid of it I typed the necessary console commands, which were supposed to finish the quest. I had assumed I would just receive a notification of the quest completion, but instead a conduit of Boethiah appeared and spoke to me.
The thing that surprised me most was that, since I had not sacrificed anyone at the shrine, the Daedra used the body of Jarl Eilisif the Fair, presumably due to the unfinished second stage of the quest where you are supposed to kill her. After delivering Boethiah's message, Eilisif fell to her knees - I am pretty sure she is essential, but the conduit sequence required her to be dead, so there was some confusion - and started crawling along the road, all the way back to Solitude.
I was afraid she would never revert to her normal self, but waiting for a few hours at the Blue Palace seemed to have helped - she returned to her throne and even gave me her horn delivery quest.

Today, I went to "The Bannerd Mare" and brawled Mikael to help out Carlotta. I completely forgot about this quest in my lower levels so I decided to do it now. After the brawl I became to excited and "accidently" killed Mikael... now half of Whiterun lies in the blood of it's inhabitants, oh yeah and I'm stealing everything I can before fleeing to Windhelm.

Alright I can't say i didn't try:
Alessia pushed to doors open to the shrine of talos open and saw eltrys in a pool of his own blood, confused she approached the body and three markarth guards shoved her back into the doorway. then the guard to the right said "You had go sniffing around didn't you, doubled our work is what you did snowback." Alessia rather startled burst out in anger "the silver bloods bought you out didn't they!" the markarth guard chuckled and replied casually "The silver bloods own Markarth and the guard now i'll just need to arrest you and put eltry's murder on you." Alessia now livid with rage drew her ebony sword and pulled up her shield and whispered "Lets see you try...." The guards simply drew their swords and attacked, Alessia chopped off the first guards head and impaled the second guard then proceeded to smash in the third guards head with her shield. she then took a step outside and a steel arrow bounced off her shoulder plate. Soon Alessia faced 15 guards and and managed to kill them however they took their toll and she was out of healing potions. As she turned around she found her self facing the entire markarth guard and saw legion soldiers numbering among the markarth guard, the same legion that she had spilled blood for and beheaded many man and women for. Now feeling truly betrayed she poured potent stamina poison over her blade and charged to her fate.
