So, I want to get back into Oblivion. I've played through it on PS3 numerous times, but I'm looking to start fresh on PC for the mods. The thing is, there are so many of them out there, I don't even know where to begin. I was hoping someone might give me some suggestions. I already plan on getting some of the major ones such as the unofficial patch and the Oblivion overhaul, so what I want to know about is more of the cosmetic stuff.
For instance, is there a good mod to make the faces in-game less awkward? I don't want to add new races either.
What are some suggested armor mods? I'd really like a set that looks similar to what Aragorn would wear in the LotR movies.
And anything else you'd recommend for a better-looking experience? Keep in mind I don't care about increasing bra sizes or removing anyone's underpants. Oh, and no anime in my Elder Scrolls, please!
Thanks!

Not so good with this, but:

Make a Google with "aesthetic mods oblivion". Of course you get a shipload of material but, hey, take it as a study. "You're bound to find your happiness out there".
AND, before trying the mods, make a safety copy of your entire Oblivion in another place. That way you can always return to the original. Cheerio!

Re: Aesthetic mod suggestions
I took a quick look through my list of mods, and here are some of the aesthetic improvements I use:
Natural Faces - cleans up that blotchy look
Vanilla Eyes - very nice eye textures, much more realistic than Ren's IMO. If you decide to change your character's look after you've left the sewers, you need to save the game WHILE you have the race menu still up, and then load from there again. I'm sure you can find a complete explanation of this process elsewhere.
Atmospheric Weather System
Salmo the Baker - there are a couple of different versions of this mod floating around, and I'm not sure which one I used. Hopefully this one isn't buggy... but in any case it's worth a shot because it's SO pretty!
Armored Circlets - if you want prettier headgear
Amulet replacer - a must, makes amulets look like actual precious metal
Ring replacer - also a must, done by the same modder as the amulets
Book Jackets - also available in hi-res, just search for it on the nexus, but even the regular res is stunningly beautiful
Illumination Within - lights up windows at night
ANYTHING labeled as Unique Landscapes - these mods are works of art! Chorrol Hinterland is probably my favorite, but so many of them are fantastic.

Thanks a lot, both of you!
Deandra, I'll definitely be using a few of those. They look like they'll really pretty up the game!

Some more mods for the landscape...
-Natural Environment
-Unique Landscapes (One of my favorites but it can have a lot of conflicts)
-Qarl's Texture Pack (Giant performance hit though! x.x)
