Colorville- Total War

Post by Imp »

Quick Backround
Spoiler:
Oh there once was a nation that lived in great peace,
It was called Colorville which had seven countires!

There was Redland, Brownland, Tanland, and Greenland,
with Grayland, Blackland, and Blueland with them.

Each land had a ruler, named by their color,
Gray led Grays, Tan led Tans, and so on, and so on.

They lived in hamony and equality,
Till Blackland decided that it should disappear.

Colorville searched and couldn’t find Blackland men,
Colorville became fierce, and wondered where they’ve gone.

The lands blamed each other and it led to war,
And this just begins the story we will tell.

Now
Spoiler:
Though, once they stopped looking for Blackland, the leader of Blackland (Black) proposed a world war for himself to watch. He threatened to easily destroy all the civilizations, unless all of the colors split from eachother and fought in a Total War. You really have no choice, you must do as Black commands. During all of this, you are a leader in a civilization. You must be the last nation standing, no matter what the cost. You must defeat each nation, no matter what is thrown at you, or your own death will occur. You are either Red, Brown, Tan, Green, Gray, or Blue.
Nations you must choose from, and be leader of

Weapons
Spoiler:
MELEE WEAPONS
Halberd
A halberd is a two-handed pole weapon that came to prominent use during the 14th and 15th centuries. The halberd consists of an axe blade topped with a spike mounted on a long shaft. It always has a hook or thorn on the back side of the axe blade for grappling mounted combatants.

Battleaxes
Designed to cut legs and arms, the battleaxe has a narrow, slicing blade resulting in deep and terrible wounds. Relatively lightweight (compared to modern splitting axes), they were quick in combat. The handles were often reinforced with metal bands to preventing breaking by the enemy. While mounted knights and nobility came to favor swords and armor, they were not impervious to the effect of a well-placed axe stroke. By concentrating the weight in the wedge of the axe head, a battleaxe could crush through armor and easily cut flesh.

Flamberge
The flamberge is a flame-bladed sword and has a characteristicly undulating style of blade. The wave in the blade is often considered to contribute a flame-like quality to the appearance of a sword. While largely decorative, attributes of the waved blade were useful in combat.

Claymore
The two-handed large sword in the Medieval period. The average claymore ran about 55" in overall length, with a 13" grip, 42" blade, and a weight of approximately 5.5 lbs.

Shortsword
Shortsword refers to a sword shorter than the “standard” ones but yet longer than a dagger.

Pike
A pike is a pole weapon, a very long thrusting spear used two-handed and used extensively by infantry both for attacks on enemy foot soldiers and as a counter-measure against cavalry assaults. Unlike many similar weapons, the pike is not intended to be thrown. The pike was an extremely long weapon, usually 10 to 14 feet long. It had a wooden shaft with an iron or steel spearhead affixed.

War Hammer
A war hammer is a late medieval weapon of war intended for close combat, the design of which resembles the hammer. The war hammer consists of a handle and a head. The handle may be of different lengths, the longest being roughly equivalent to the halberd, and the shortest about the same as a mace. Long war hammers were pole weapons (polearms) meant for use against riders, whereas short ones were used in closer quarters and from horseback. War hammers often had a spike on one side of the head, thus making it a more versatile weapon.

Ranged Weapons
Arbalest
The arbalest (also arblast) was a late variation of the medieval European crossbow. A larger weapon, the arbalest had a steel prod ("bow"). Since an arbalest was much larger than earlier crossbows, and because of the greater tensile strength of steel, it had a greater force. A skilled arbalestier (arblaster) could shoot two bolts per minute. Arbalests were sometimes considered inhumane or unfair weapons, since an inexperienced crossbowman could use one to kill a knight who had a lifetime of training.

English Longbow
The English longbow, also called the Welsh longbow, was a powerful type of medieval longbow (a tall bow for archery) about 6 ft 6 in (2.0 m) long used by the English, Scots and Welsh, both for hunting and as a weapon in medieval warfare.

Siege Weapons
Battering Ram
A battering ram is a siege engine originating in ancient times to break open fortification walls or doors.

Catapult
Catapult

Siege Tower
A siege tower is a specialized siege engine, constructed to protect assailants and ladders while approaching the defensive walls of a fortification. The tower was often rectangular with four wheels and a height roughly equal to that of the wall or sometimes higher to allow archers to stand on top of the tower and fire into the fortification.

Hmm, very tempted by this - I call Greenland!
Just a few questions: Is there anyway for us to recover the people we lose? Do siege weapons cost more people per weapon e.g two people per catapult? and would alliances be possible?

In this specefic RP, I don't think that I could allow that, sorry. You would need your own civilization.

Sorry for any missing information. I am doing this from a very uncooperative phone.

I would only think (because of the difficulty to quickly kill a person in armor) that people cannot be taken back, unless they are taken prisoner or wounded on the battle field. And when people are injured too badly, you probably wouldn't be able to save them unless you are from Blackland.

It depends on how effective and quickly you would like the catapult to work. Alliances are deffinetly possible.

Thanks for clearing that up.
What I meant to ask was: Will there be a constant flow of fresh people or is it when we run out of our starting people it's game over?

This looks interesting. I might join, so I'm calling Brownland. But in your first post, you said:
imperialkhajiit wrote:Nations you must choose from, and be leader of
And then under "Rules," you said you can choose who to be in your country. What's up with that?

You're welcome

When you are out you are done, but you can capture enemy slaves to fight for you.

I meant to say that you can switch roles within your nation, but your major role and default role is the leader.

I should be getting my computer when the rp starts, but for now I am sorry for all mistakes or details that I leave out.

I see, that's actually pretty interesting. I'm liking this RP's potential. But you should wait for more people to join before starting the RP. Try to get someone for every country, if that's not what you already had intended.

And so did the cold month of January begin, a slight frost throughout Colorville. Black's letters finally reached all of the nations, sicking war onto each nation but himself. Many couriers were out today, knowing many letters will be sent. Black's letter reached each kingdom at this time, and each courier is requesting entrance into the kingdom to give the letter to their leader.

Lord Green was troubled, he had sent another patrol this morning in another futile search of the Blacks and they had returned with a courier.
He rapped his knuckles across his throne. The courier appeared in the throne room and handed him a letter.
Green read the letter and stood up in disbelief.
"No that cannot be, why would the Blacks wish for War?" He asked himself, "We cannot allow them to threaten us, I must send envoy's to create an alliance to stand against them."

Brown opened the letter on the table in his study. He couldn't believe what he was reading at first, but as it sunk in, he thought to himself, "This must not stand. I must prepare my castle's defenses for an attack immediately."

Green's trusted advisor -Marcus spoke.
"I agree my Lord, if we can stand together we can defeat them."
Commander Hawke -the Leader of the Green armies- stood up.
"Not to go against your wishes my Lord, but what if the other kingdoms believe the letter and strike out, we should ready our defences now and play diplomat later."
Green decided to follow his initial judgement.
"Yes send a letter to the Reds, Tans and Browns requesting an alliance," He turned to Commander Hawke, "Ready our defences Commander.

Spoiler:
Should we pu al limit on how many people you can put in an alliance?
Spoiler:
Alright, I guess I will allow it, but I just don't want everyone ending up to be in the same alliance. In the end, you will need to destroy your alliance members. You can alliance in the beginning, but there will only be one winner.
"Yes Lord Green." The courier said. He ran off to Brownland in the swamp. After a great amount of time, he arrived on horseback and yet another courier went to the gates of Brown Castle.
