Re: Morrowind General Discussion
Yep, he's around level 14 now and is kicking arse! Got a Frost Enchanted Glass Longsword for him as a reward from the second Redoran Smith quest(I finally got rid of Icicle, yay!).
I'm actually growing rather fond of the Redoran as a whole... there is a lot more to them then just brawn. They really do deserve their title as 'Protectors of Morrowind', because throughout history they have always defended their home land with unrivaled passion. I'm actually questioning if I like them more then the Telvanni... both are very interesting Houses, and nearly the complete opposite in their approach to life. One is for the people, the other is for themselves.

What is your view on Umbra? Wanting to die an honourable death, that stuff.

Re: Morrowind General Discussion
Umbra is probably one of my favourite encounters in the game... there is something in his words that makes me a bit teary. The guy just wants to rest after the horrors of war he has taken part in, but he is so powerful that everyone he meets falls... his gift for war is also his curse.
I believe he shows how the Orc race really is... almost like the embodiment of their ideals and ways. The ones you meet at the Daedric Shrines and in caves are just bandits/murderers and shouldn't be how the race is perceived, but unfortunately a lot of people see them as such which gives them a very bad name.
I actually remember making an Orc warrior once, he was based off the guy in fact. Very fun character to play, was an explorer more then a quest completer.

Indeed. I always never kill him, unless my characters are so evil and cold that... well, yeah.

Re: Morrowind General Discussion
I kill him all the time. My good characters do it to grant him release from this world like he desires, and my evil characters do it for the rewards.
I always leave it to the later levels though.

My good characters always feel like they can make him more... happy, but then they realize they should kill him after all. So I don't really not kill him every time, but I don't kill him at the first meeting every time.
Well, that goes without saying.I always leave it to the later levels though

Re: Morrowind General Discussion
I kind of get what you are saying... I think. I always feel bad that I killed him(very attatched to the bloke), but at the same time it makes me feel like a landmark has been reached when I do.
I'm not sure what level I will be when I do face him, I'm at 100% diff so I'm going to aim for level 17-20.

You're going to face him like an honourable warrior, I guess, so I'd say 20, yeah.

Re: Morrowind General Discussion
I'm having a lot of trouble deciding what my new character will be... I'm still a [&@%!] off about my game being corrupted and losing my Temple guy.
The two I can't decide between are a Telvanni Mage/Vampire, and an Imperial Cult Knight. I love my magic and the Telvanni questline, I really do, but then there is also the fact that I want to give maces and heavy armour a try... I barely ever use them despite the looks being pretty awesome.

I think you should give maces a try. Trying out new things, always good. Have include some honor in there.
Just asking, why, when you use the permanent summons exploit, that the game crashes if you don't aim at the ground?

Re: Morrowind General Discussion
Hey guys, could you help me out? I'm still playing my insane Telvanni charatcer (and it's a blast), but I'd like to start another one and I'm not sure how to approach it. I want to make a goody-two-shoes this time (all my previous characters were more or less cold-blooded opportunists) and I'm looking for some inspiration. He/She'd definitely join the Imperial Cult, but aside from this I don't know what to do, I just want to try out something new. Any ideas?
(note: I'm playing with Tamriel Rebuilt, though I haven't explored it much so far.)

Re: Morrowind General Discussion
I am going to join fighters guild and i maybe join house redoran or start main quest or both.
First thing i did was going to balmora after selling limeware platter. Then i made some potions and bought bound spear spell and made 100% magicka resist spell for boots of blinding speed. Then i traveled to sell stuff to creeper and get orcish items. Now i am adventuring some time and getting better items.

You could join the Temple as well, then there is always the Imperial Legion, and or House Redoran. With the Legion, you don't neccessarily have to advance very far, and you could possibly rp as a guard, protecting the citizen's of whatever city, or fort. Or you could travel around offering assistance in whatever way to the citizens of the different cities.
With Redoran, well, I think it's pretty obvious, seeing as they are the most honorable and noble House, they are the sworn protectors of Morrowind.
Also, if you have the Bloodmoon expansion, the East Empire Company gives you an oppurtunity to make some good or bad decisions, somewhere along the questline.

Created a wizard, and loving it. Had some trouble adjusting to the playstyle, but once I had a strategy down, it was smooth sailing.

Well, I've heard you can go to the Construction set and adjust the Cliff Racers' fight to 0. Then they won't attack you.

Does a weapon with that kind of enchantment work for you? And do you use bows?

ya but i run out of arrows REALLY fast, i mean i left balmora and it started with 10 so i shot them down but it soon grew and grew until i couldn't count them all and the game was giving me the message "out of arrows", i then used my spear and ended up breaking it then my back up dagger and when i reached Vivec the ordinators saved me
