Aurin hastily followed suit, directing Sylia too toward their comrades via a firmly placed hand upon her shoulder.

Re: Mass Effect: Inquisition
Tharen could see the light of the end of the caves as they ran.
"We're almost there!" he shouted, hearing the engines of the Vienna roaring on the outside.

James dropped the avenger and kept pace with Tharen while they made their escape.

Re: Mass Effect: Inquisition
Aurin increased his pace so that he closely neared a sprint, pulling Sylia haphazardly along given her understandable exhaustion.

Tharen and Mirei boarded the ship. "Hurry!" he called out, knowing that they would have to lift off at any given time now. "We're almost finished. You can make it!"

Re: Mass Effect: Inquisition
James stopped just infront of the ship to lay down suppressive fire for Aurin and Sylia.

Re: Mass Effect: Inquisition
Aurin more roughly ushered Sylia and the pair soon made way to the Vienna's boarding ramp; both operatives' shields were well diminished, evidently, and so their haphazard arrival was with haste.

James followed on with them still blaring away with his Phalanx.
"Is anyone hurt?" He asked once they were at a safe distance.

Re: Mass Effect: Inquisition
The Vienna's ramp closed up and the ship took off. Seconds later, a very loud bang was heard, throwing the ship a bit off balance as if a gust of turbulence had hit it. Afterwards, it was smooth sailing ahead.
Tharen peered out of the window as they escaped the planet. The explosion had caved in the cave, and there was very little chance that anything could have made it out of that situation alive.
He turned to his fellow operatives and bowed. "Thank you. All of you." he said. "I'd congratulate all of you promptly, but we need to see to getting our three fallen friends into caskets." he said, walking off with Mirei following him. Minutes later, three filled caskets were secured in the cargo bay.

Tharen nodded at James. "Everyone. Come to the briefing room when you can. We'll have a debriefing and then we'll get comfortable. It's a long trip back to the Citadel."

Re: Mass Effect: Inquisition
Aurin, face still thickly coated in blood given his haphazard trip through the bunker's showers and consequent injuries, opted to first visit the medical bay before reporting for debriefing; there, said wounds were well cleansed and, when necessary, closed via insubstantial adhesive closures. Once satisfied and having been admitted by the responsible medical officer, Aurin entered and positioned himself unobtrusively to the one side of the room.

Re: Mass Effect: Inquisition
((I know Eltee is busy, but his interaction isn't exactly required at this point, so we're good to move forward a bit, for now.))
"Thanks for coming." he said, looking around. "It talked with Alliance command. In addition to the 250,000 credits each of you will be receiving, an additional 500,000 credits will be laid on top of that for the unexpected mission parameters."
Mirei took a step forward. "We've decided what to do with the shares of the dead as well. Ren's share will be donated to the Migrant Fleet, Nessala's share will be donated to the Thessian government, and Karnak's share will be given to the Batarian refugees on the citadel." she said, looking at the meager crowd that was gathered. "Do we all agree on this?"

Re: Mass Effect: Inquisition
"The plan's agreeable," Aurin concurred, drawing a sharp breath, "Save for your intentions regarding Nessala's portion. I dare say the Thessian government's in no dire need of 750,000 credits- realistically, our own operation or an applicable charity would be a more responsible choice."

Re: Mass Effect: Inquisition
"You're right." Tharen said. "We'll decide later, then. For now, thank you all for your help in this mission. Go home and enjoy your credits, and rest for a while. You've all earned it." he said, saluting them. "Dismissed!"
((So guys, if you want, you can send me a PM containing an 'ending' for your character to explain what happens to him/her after this RP takes place. When writing one, remember that the Reaper Invasion occurs in 2 months. I'll post the endings for the characters all in one post once I get them. ))

Re: Mass Effect: Inquisition
Endings
James
After the mission, James returned to Earth. There he continued to work for the Alliance, even briefly guarding the Normandy as it was being refitted for Commander Shepard.
Upon the arrival of the Reapers, James made his way to London. He valiantly fought to keep husks away from civilian transports, and was able to save many lives until he was killed in battle.
Tharen and Mirei
Tharen and Mirei went back to the Citadel for a while, where they finally decided to stop waiting and get married, despite their Alliance duties. They were wed one week after the mission concluded, with guests from both sides of the family who supported the Turian-Quarian union.
Unable to have their own children due to their difference in species, Tharen and Mirei retired from the Alliance and adopted two children; a baby Turian boy named Envar and an unnamed Quarian girl, who they named Rena'Zephryan nar Citadel, naming her after Ren who gave his life to help complete the mission.
Tharen and Mirei were en route to Palaven to show the kids to Tharen's family when the Reapers attacked the Turian homeworld. Tharen's family did not make it out alive, but he, Mirei, and the children were able to have their ship turn away from the attack and make it to Palaven's moon, Menae.
Tharen and Mirei were stationed on Menae and helped defend it while their kids were taken to a safehouse. Throughout the entire Reaper conflict, they defended the moon. At the end of the war, Tharen, Mirei, and the kids were alive.
Sylia and Aurin
After her fateful first mission, Sylia decided she wasn't cut out for a life in the Commandos. However, childhood dreams die hard, and her training wasn't the kind of thing one forgets overnight.
She joined C-Sec, where she was initially assigned a dull job in the Citadel's Customs branch. As chance would have it, six months after beginning her work, she encountered her old comrade, the Turian Aurin, as he was entering the space Station. They agreed to meet later in a nightclub, and they woke up together the next morning in Sylia's apartment. They were married within a few months.
Both survived the Reaper invasion intact, and in it's aftermath, Sylia became one of C-Sec's most respected officers, although her interest in work declined as she raised her and Aurin's two children.
To put it in a clichéd manner, they lived happily ever after.
Karnak
Karnak's earnings were donated to the Batarian refugees of the Citadel. Tharen had his body sent back to his homeworld, where it was buried.
Nessala
Nessala's earnings were donated to the Commandos, and the money was used to train new members in the defense of Thessia from the Reapers. Nessala's body was sent to Thessia, where it was requisitioned by her family and buried.
Ren
Ren's earnings were donated to the Migrant Fleet, and the money was used to buy a new frigate for the fleet; the ship was named the 'Haki' in honor of Ren. During the battle for Rannoch, the frigate reportedly held the line against dozens of geth fighters, before it was shot down. It crashed down on a central geth hub, decimating hundreds of mobile platforms.
