Three Sigil Stones from Kvatch Gate

Post by SupidSeep »

Is this supposed to be a bug or a special feature for the first Oblivion Gate?

I found that when I reached the Kvatch Gate's Sigil Stone, I can repeatedly activate it to get more Sigil Stones before I get booted back to Tamriel. There is enough time to get 2 more sigil stones if you keep activating it quickly. You have to be standing quite close to it to do so.

All of the sigil stones' attributes are randomised so it is not a 'duplication' bug or something similar.

Argh!!!! I'd totally forgotten about that!! I think it has been mentioned here, whether a bug or a "special feature", it's certainly a good perk.

Have only recently done the Kvatch Gate (though I'm not going to bother going back and redoing at this point!), took my Sigil Stone, then sat there bored waiting for the fireworks to get themselves over with!!

Yes, it's true. I finally confirmed it day before yesterday. If you're quick, you can grab up to three sigil stones before you flash outta there. And if you're picky, like most of us, you will want to do a quicksave just before you grab them in case you don't like what you get. 8) But I don't think it's limited to the Kvatch gate, at least I hope not.

Think you might be disappointed there. I was in the middle of "selecting" which Sigil Stone I got when I first saw this post this avo, just a random gate (just east of Skingrad, was quite funny to see the White Feather Goblins fighting the minions of Ob. and protecting the city!!), but I def could only take one.

I had enough time to easily hit it 5 times while the "fist" icon was still active, but I still only got one. Tried hitting again after I got the first etc as well, nothing I could do would garner more than the one.

Damn, that sucks. I will give it a try tonight and report tomorrow. There are gates popping up all over the place. Maybe the Kvatch gate should be left alone until you're done with all of the misc. quests you want to do so that as you ride throughout the countryside, you don't get that nasty change of weather, change of color, etc. as happens when you ride nearby a gate...

That's exactly why I left Kvatch so long (3mths later, level 21! :D ), closing the Kvatch gate seems to be the trigger to start random gates opening.

yea once you close the kvatch one then you talk to jauffre then the gates start opening, only after you talk to jauffre though(maybe the killing of the guys at weynon is the thing)

Yes once you return martin to waynon, the script, set MQ00.openGates to 10 opens 10 gates to start with :) And interestingly enough, there are 25 gates open at any one time...i love the CS :D
