Random pic, your own TES scene

Post by Free »

I'll post a picture...

And you make your own TES scene from what you see on the picture.
It can be from Morrowind, Oblivion or Skyrim.

Comedy, romance, drama, horror, action, thriller etc.

  • Be original.
Be close to the lore.(Stay within all the major events that held place)

Make it enjoyable for others to read. (Check the spelling corrector)
It has to be at least one paragraph. (5 sentences max)
A maximum of two paragraphs. (5 sentences max)

Don't make it too long. (this on purpose to make it hard on you)
It can be about everything (from a scouts mission to a peasant's every day life)

Every few posts, I'll post a new picture and later on maybe two at the time.
After a new picture has been posted, don't make a story for pictures posted before.

Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

The leather hide boots created crunching sounds stepping on the sand.
The wind started howling again after it left the ash dust on the ground alone for a while.
As Assatlit came closer to the yurt, his left hand reached to his flamecleaver that bungled on his back.
''I..I used to call you muthsera..'' he muttered to himself clenching his right fist.
''I swear on our ancestors that..I.. I will not fail my task you.. you witch..''

The wind became more ferocious as ash became to flow inside the yurt.
''S'wit!..'' ''I better close the entrance before the corprus meat is unusable..''
As Hainab's head peeked outside her dark hair danced in the wind while pieces of ash got stuck between it.
Between the flying ash she noticed a vague figure coming her way.
The red eyes stood out in the fierce ashstorm while the man with a mohawk pointed his spear in her direction.

Thinking that the 7000 steps was too easy, the Dovahkiin decided to take the longer way up the mountain to High Hrothgar.
Do you mind? I'm doing the fishstick. It's a very delicate state of mind.

The little tent quivered under the force of the raging sandstorm, ugly, bloated bubbles covering its surface; and the wind hissed menacingly, searching a way to sneak in and to choke in its red, squeakily dry grasp the adventurers who lay side by side under the frail protection of the canvas walls. A young, stern-faced Breton, who had been half-sitting, half lying, reading a book in battered leather cover by the light of a glowing bluish orb that was floating above his head, looked up and said with a deliberate yawn, ‘A storm. How quaint. I daresay this is about the most exciting thing that has happened to us so far in Vvardenfell’. ‘Oh, shut it, Valtieri,’ grumbled a bulky Nord with long sandy hair who was trying – and failing – to go to sleep in the bedroll next to him, ‘We’ll get to that ruin soon enough. Then you’ll get all the excitement you want’.
It was year 133 of the Third Era.

@Norroen Dyrd
Best post so far. (in this nearly dead topic.)
I enjoyed it..

In my mind they're two members of a organisation send to find allies for the organisation's cause to rule Tamriel in order to further aid their hidden motives. Motives connected to the other realm..

Some agents of the organisation are sent to find ancient artefacts.
Others to recruit promising talent. Agents are recruited carefully and based on their talent, current skill and mindset.

The leaders of organisation exists of different races, all either believed to be dead, exiled or simply forgotten.
''Almost succeeded legendary villains'' type of leaders.
Not known to their subordinates they give orders through loyal captains.

These two agents were put together as a cell because of the combined magical/physical strength.
They are sent to a ruin to recruit a certain individual who lives there.
First persuading or otherwise by force as told by the organisations local vvardenfell captain.
A promising asset if he joins their base located in the island group located beneath the coastel valenwood city Greenheart.
The student of Yagrum Bagarn..

Anyway that's what I saw when I read your scene.

Thank you, Free! :D
That was one interesting and creative interpretation of my humble impromptu. I am taking the liberty of assuming that you perhaps aren't too familiar with Oblivion, because my thingy is really much simpler than that, and I reckon it would have appeared as such to Oblivion players. But then again, I might be mistaken and you are just taking the road less travelled. Which is pretty much awesome.
A rather off-topic question to Free: I can't but wonder what monument is that in your avatar, where it may be found and to whom it is dedicated. :?:

I'm not familiar with oblivion. I'm not a fan of sequels in general actually.
They get worse with each new release. After Morrowind I did not want to get disappointed, so I skipped it.
I played Skyrim (to my regret) and it felt like bethesda did not deliver that feeling they delivered in Morrowind.
With lore so broad and creatively made they could've most definitely made a better game then Morrowind (and oblivion)and its mods.
Spoiler:
That is a statue of an ancient Guanche king in the Canary Islands.
There are many dedicated to ''the ancients'' who fought against the Spanish.
Guanches is the name given to the aboriginal Berber inhabitants of the Canary Islands.
They were a branch of the berber people of north Africa and they migrated to the archipelago sometime between 1000 BCE and 100 BCE or perhaps earlier.

These are a few of the many.

While the mist surrounded the trees, Bolrin held the grey coloured arrow drawn on his bow.
His view in first person, as well as his bow went from right to left, left to right.
Each step he took, he took cautiously while the figure next to him fell flat on his face.
''Hmmr By grace of Auriel..'' a humonoid ape growled with a deep voice.
Bigger, wider and hairier then the Bosmer, he tapped some dirt and leaves of his red cape.
They were far enough into the woods that the noisy Gilverdale could not be heard.

''I am nots fitss this bumpy lande..'' ''I shjdould be on flatte ground of beautiful Alinor!''
As Morth lisped his discontent, he cautiously followed Bolmir while holding an one handed sword.
Besides them , only echoes could be heard, echoes from things they rather not bump into.
''You've never been there Morth..'' ''And they plan to keep like that..'' Bolmir whispered while keeping his eyes and bow straight forward in case of.

''W.. You.. I.. I for your informatsionne I waz ienvited tso go there.. aftser we captsure the damm thinge..''

''Really?.. Well Morth..'' ''I fail to see why.. because..''
''You really stand out here with that red thing on..'' the Bosmer replied while suddenly running.

''And for you itss count Morth sstupid bossmer!'' he shouted raising his sword while Bolmirs arrow rocketed towards the mist in front of them.

(To long, sorry.)

Thank you for the information. I remember reading about the Guanche in a popular science magazine dedicated to world travelling. The picture they had in the article featured a statue similar in style, of a Guanche with a spear and a dog. :)
I do hope you will allow me to go on participating in this thread with short stories in spired by Oblivion and Skyrim, as unfortunately I played little of Morrowind quite a long time ago.
EDIT: I will take a risk anyway.

Sometimes he was sure - almost- that he was still alive, still Emperor Pelagius III. Sometimes he would start having a nagging suspicion that he might be dead, and the world around him, merely an illusion, a long-forgotten memory kept from dissolving into the waters of oblivion only by ghosts such as himself. But most of the time he was not really quite sure. His mind - if he still had a mind to speak of - was like a dark forest, filled with swirling mist, and among the gnarled trunks moved a shadow, ever elusive, beckoning to him, mocking him, laughing... Its laughter swelled like the waves of an angry sea, flooding the forest much like the mist did - no, its laughter was the mist. That shadow was Sheogorath.

Oh, this reminds me of the little tent past the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary in Dawnstar...the one surrounded by all the hoarkers. Many a sweet roll and wine bottle have been consumed in that tent. I love camping.
