What's the weirdest glitch that's happened to you?
I'm not sure if there has already been a thread for this, but if there has been, please tell me.
Here's one that has happened to me:
-One time when I talked to a Black Hourse Courier person on the horse, she started doing a backwards rotation through her horse while she was talking!

Vampire
One time (after a very long-running game), I was strolling through the market district of the Imperial City when the guards suddenly gave a shout and started attacking someone. I was startled -- even more so that it wasn't me they were attacking, for some odd reason. I saw the guards quickly cut down someone in white; when I got closer, it was Ontus Vanin, he of the late sleepy habits and trashy book reading.
I got closer to take a look, and discovered his face was pulled back unmistakably like that of a vampire that hasn't fed in a long time. How or why he contracted vampirism, I'm not sure, but I guess he was scary enough that the guards thought he needed to be killed.
I've played through a few times since this happened, but I've never seen it happen again, and I'm still at a bit of a loss to understand why it happened. Sometimes I doubt that it happened at all, and that I was just too shocked by the killing and assumed that his old face resembled one ravaged by vampirism ... but then every time I see him alive in new games, and then compare what he looks like to some vampire I'm fighting, I get even more doubts about what happened. I'm still fairly sure that he was, indeed, a vampire on that play-through.

Exact same thing happened to me . . . except I didn't check the body to see the vampire . . .Elhana wrote:One time (after a very long-running game), I was strolling through the market district of the Imperial City when the guards suddenly gave a shout and started attacking someone. On the 360 one time I walked into Bravil and all the NPCs were hovering about a foot off the ground with their feet together and arms stretched out - like a "T" stance. None of them were moving or talking and when I touched one, they fell dead to the floor. I reloaded an old save and it's never happened again.

Re: Vampire
Ontus Vanin will attack someone if his Disposition toward them is near or at 0. Usually it's the player he attacks. The thing is, his Disposition modifier towards Mages' Guild members is glitched: set to a negative value instead of a positive one, the higher in rank you climb the Guild hierarchy, the more he hates you.Elhana wrote:One time (after a very long-running game), I was strolling through the market district of the Imperial City when the guards suddenly gave a shout and started attacking someone. Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

I used to play Oblivion, then I took an arrow in the knee.

MAGES GUILD SPOlLER!!!!!!!!!!!
I was doing the last quest of the Mages Guild, and had gone into the room with Mannimarco in it. After he attacked me and I fought back, I summoned a Dremora Lord to help me in the battle, and cast a paralyse spell on Mannimarco. He fell into one of metal plates that has fire in it, and lights up the chamber. He was lying in there, with me and my summoned Dremora Lord beating the crap out of him. Suddenly Mannimarco flew straight across the room, like characters when they are hit with a spell and die. But no message popped up saying he was dead. I ran across the room in the direction that he had gone, and he was floating in the water, dead.
I had to reload the game about three times before it would allow me to pass this quest
