The Senator's position on this issue, as on many others, iz missionary only. He further believes that women should maintain respectable attire in all situations. You know, the Pikachu hoodie got me thinking. Surely there's a way to tie this story in with the Trayvon/ Hoodiegate "scandal", right? I mean, since the whole "race wars" thing fell apart as soon as it became clear that Zimmerman was Latino (disregard that, the media still wants to press a 1960s throwback black-vs-white racial narrative) and since the gun control angle doesn't work, seeing as the law in question is actually quite reasonable (disregard that, habeas corpus and presumption of innocence shouldn't apply to people defending themselves, apparently), there's got to be SOMETHING to keep these stories alive.

Clearly, Obama supports Nigri because she's a hoody-wearing criminal, and Santorum wants us to shoot her in the face.

Black v Brown works just as well when hyping a race war narrative. Mainly because Blacks and Latinos compete heavily over menial jobs, but also because both groups are viewed as key parts of the Democratic coalition. Driving a wedge between Obama and Latinos could turn a few swing states in November. Or at least, that's the 'thinking' in the right-wing agitprop echo chamber.

Of course it was a vocal flub. When you're a presidential candidate, you never want to intentionally call a black man a "nig" anything. The question isn't whether this is a flub, that much is a given, it's whether this flub should be called to task and held to the standards expected of a man who will be representing US corporate/federalist interests on the world stage for four whole years.
