Well, could start with the survey on page one of this thread. That'll give you an opportunity to not only participate in House activity, but delves into lore simultaneously. Two 'Racers, one arrow...or bolt if you prefer.

Urh, what survey? Can't find one on page one, just one for Hlaalu. I haven't woken up properly, my perception isn't at its best.

Don't worry, they're actually 'hidden' away on the second page, although I'll try and get a Mod to add them to the OP (for alas, I cannot myself, as I am not the OP of this particular House :P). Courtesy of AddictedtoMorrowind:

Where would you like your base to be?
Why do you support Dagoth Ur's beliefs and ethics?
Why did you choose Dagoth over the others?
Is Corprusmeat good or bad, in your opinion?
Which Dagoth creature would you like to be?
If Dagoth Ur wanted you to destroy Vvardenfell, where would you start?
Do you hate Nerevar?
Who are your allies, if any(factions, houses)?
Which disease do you like the most(Corprus, Blight, etc.)?
If you could change one thing in House Dagoth, what would it be(rituals, rules, etc.)?

Put the compiled work so far in the OP, nicely done! The Poison Song series are some of the few books I haven't actually read, ironically. Guess I have some catching up to do.

Välkommen, fisksalladen! You have been enlisted as a corprus beast, as per your request. You will be at the frontline, sharing the gift of corprus with the guests to our bases. BYOB.

That would work, but bump yourself up to Ash Vampire Argonian, you've been here longer than myself, and helping keep the House from "going poof". I believe that definitely deserves the rank up.

Should Sleepers retain "Dagoth" entitlement?

I'll let Dagoth Ur decide, but that all seems good to me. One thing I was thinking about though, does House Dagoth have a future after Dagoth Ur's fall, and into the 4th Era? I mean, there's no mention of them after Morrowind the game, but I'd like to think they live on.

Poison Song pretty much confirms that, well, in theory. Contradictory statement perhaps. But, I have a theory I briefly mentioned; the "Tythonian Theorem " I guess one could call it. In Poison song...(SPOILER ALERT)...Tay is born of Dagoth and adopted by House Indoril out of mercy after the war. That mercy turns on them when Tay finds his true heritage, and assumes his place as Dagoth-Tython, leader of House Dagoth. His revolt was short lived and to my understanding, he threw himself into a volcano. The Dagoth bloodline mystery is, what became of Tython's child that Dagoth-Acra carried?

That said, regardless of the continuation of the direct Dagoth heritage, it isn't implausible to think that Tython could be reincarnated much like Nerevar in the Nerevarine. The "Tythonian" would theoretically rise when House Dagoth nears extinction, just as Tython was called in his lifetime to do so after the great war that was to end House Dagoth, and by records, came perilously close to doing just that.

Poison Song is set in the First Era, fairly early First Era at that, so Tay's bloodline may have ended long before Morrowind. One thing that I don't quite understand though, is that Tay was 18 in 685, 15 years before the Battle of Red Mountain, and he'd been hearing the Song since a very young age. In essence, he precedes the War of the irst Council and House Dagoth's alleged betrayal.

Hmm, I didn't realize that. Also, 18 is but a toddler in the spectrum of years that Mer live (perhaps we have delved deeper than Bethesda planned). The young ages really struck me as odd. Thus, why this is theoretical.

EDIT: As for another oddity, the topic of incest seems far out of place, especially for Dunmer.

Indeed, Mer can live for much longer than Men, although they mature at a similar rate, and often die at a similar age, as mentioned in an in character dev interview, which states that war, plague and famine kill off many Mer before their natural deaths, at similar ages to Men, the implication being they mature at a similar rate, physically and mentally at least, probably slower socially as they would be seen as young for a longer period, and have greater competition for leadership roles, etc. from older people.

Hmm, the question is, is it a work of fiction based on history, or an actual historical account. I'd be inclined to say it was like the 2920 series in that regard, based on real events and people, but with artistic license taken.

Well, the Poison Song is an epic, which is not necessarily true, most of the time. It most likely is not true.

Regardless of how accurate it actually is or is not, it's one of the few works we have, so I think it's fair for us to treat it as truth and the basis, to a degree, of our work.

Thank you. I will meditate on these questions.

EDIT:

Where would you like your base to be?
While the dwemer strongholds are useful for the ashlands, they are not of our original culture. While they could be seen as conquested territory, I cannot call them ideal. I would prefer to, in time, return to earlier forms of chimer architecture, as Veloth taught us.

Why do you support Dagoth Ur's beliefs and ethics?
ALL CRIES ARE WAKING!

Why did you choose Dagoth over the others?
It is the one true House, and the day of reckoning is at hand. It is we alone who see the truth of this world.

Is Corprusmeat good or bad, in your opinion?
We see you, false one. Your flesh will feed us all. All shall greet him as flesh, or as dust.

Which Dagoth creature would you like to be?
We are the dunmer. We strive to become Children of His Flesh, and ascend.

If Dagoth Ur wanted you to destroy Vvardenfell, where would you start?
It has started. It has started within me, within you, within thousands of us.

Do you hate Nerevar?
Nerevar was mislead. The Tribunal is the true evil in our land.

Who are your allies, if any(factions, houses)?
Any and all are welcome. The corprus meat is your shrine, you are the offering.

Which disease do you like the most(Corprus, Blight, etc.)?
I cannot see what you call a disease. Through corprus we become one with the flesh of our Master, and we start our ascent from flesh to divinity.

If you could change one thing in House Dagoth, what would it be(rituals, rules, etc.)?
The courtesy of the first blow. In my lowly form of sentience, I see no reason to offer courtesy to the weak and misguided.

Indeed, thus the topic of Poison Song being thrown about. Speaking of lore and observations of, I'm interested in finding a closer connection between House Dagoth and the Daedra. In my first go about in Morrowind, it took me a second glance to see that House Dagoth and the Daedra weren't the same entity.

Thank you! I could definitely be interested in doing that :) The question is if I will have the time, the studies take up a lot of it. Is it something along the lines of the faction texts I've seen in this topic, like Fellowship of the Temple (only for house Dagoth instead), or something else?

The work right now is like the record books of the other Great Houses (Yellow Book, Red Book, Brown Book). I coined "Black Book (of House Dagoth)", although I am uncertain on what an actual title would be. I sketched up a quick cover and edited it, and wrote the "Dagoth Manifesto". The "Standards of Dagoth" were Argonian's work. The Favored Attributes where a collaborative work of all House Dagoth.

At this time, we have been discussing "Poison Song" as a reference and its validity as such. The greatest freedom and challenge of this project is that House Dagoth has very little record of origins, structure, and initial agenda. What we have is post-Red Mountain, the content during "The Awakening" period, the content covered (vaguely) in TES3: Morrowind.
