Sanguine regarded the mortals from above, from a balcony that overlooked the gardens they had entered through the portals he had opened across Tamriel to take them to the first of his many realms.

He chuckled loudly to himself, before speaking out, his voice booming as if magnified, "Mortals, I see you here, you are most wise in accepting my invitation. For now, is a time of merriment! Let the drink flow! Let the food be fine! And the women finer!" he laughed heartily, "Who shall be first to take to the stage an impress me with their talents?"

Spirit-of-Gajul came near to Maximus and silently whispered "this should be helpful, my friend" and sneakly give to the guy a tiny bottle. " and nice to meet you, Mara's daughter", said loudly to distract the dunmer.

Before she could respond to the admittedly creepy Wood Elf, her patron's greatest foe finally addressed his guests. Talents? What did he mean? Regarding the Daedra fearfully, Vivyne shouted, "Allow us to leave, foul demon! We are not your prisoners. Her Benevolence will prevail and keep us safe from your trickery." It sounded rather brave, but the Dunmer was quite scared.

Maximus felt the bottle slip into one of his pockets and wondered what it could be. After Vivyne addressed Sanguine, Maximus turned to her and fired off several questions in rapid succession, his voice sounding a little more fearful with each one, "Did...did he say portals? What could that mean? Are we in his realm? Does Mara hold any power here? Should we go and meditate? What should we do!?" Maximus again embraced the Dunmer and buried his face in her robe, his forehead resting on her shoulder. He made great sobbing motions and then whispered, "I do not want to die."
Spoiler:
do I get to make up what the bottle is, or was there something specific you gave me, Skyr?

"I'll go first," declared Sparrow, stepping forwards. He addressed Sanguine: "May I have your strongest brew, please?"

At the clap of the Daedra's hand, a table appeared in front of the pirate, covered with hundreds of bottles of alcohol.

"My lord," continued Captain Jack, "I challenge you to a drinking contest."

"As you wish!" Sanguine boomed, clapping his hands, he disappeared and reappeared beside the Captain. Clapping once more, a long wooden table appeared between them, as did two large barrels of sujamma on either side.

"After you, mortal," Sanguine taunted.

The captain picked up the tankard that was next to his barrel, and, dipping it into the alcohol, drained it in one sip.

"Your turn."

"Hoo, hoo," Sanguine chuckled, taking a tankard full of the potent Dunmeri brew from one of the serving maids who had appeared out of nowhere, "This shall be fun." And with that, he downed the drink in one elongated sip, chuckling as he placed the emptied tankard on the bench top.

Samantha clapped her hands together a single time. "Oh, I do enjoy it when the weak think they are strong! The irony in their deaths is so satisfying!" She whispered.

"Add some spice to the wine," Samantha said. "And by spice, I mean poison." She pulled out a vial of black liquid from her pocket. "Or we can take shots. Any takers?"

"Boring, eh?" said Captain Jack, and he strode over to a wall bracket, where a torch was mounted. Grabbing the flaming stick with one hand, he lowered it until it just touched the sujamma.

There was a small explosion, and Jack quaffed the flaming drink in one swig.

Maximus looked up at the contest. Jack was doing better than he had thought he would. It was time to up his game.

He stood upright and took Vivyne's head, and gently pushed it down onto his shoulder.

"Look away, m'lady! Your eyes should not see such a travesty! Let us find a place where we can separate ourselves from this filth!"
