"But what about the other heirs?" Asked Torryg. "Will they not be slightly angry that they can't rule?"

Re: Diplomacy 168 4E - The Great war
"Of course! Civil war could be inbound at any moment. My father is lying in his bed, unable to get up, coughing his lungs out!" Ayre said with surprisingly little compassion.
"He's over 80 years old. And my two oldest brothers only wants to kill Nords. Then there's one who is anti-Thalmor, one who is only pro-Reach, anti-Evrything-else, one who wants to rejoin Skyrim, one who wants to join the High Rock province, and me."

"I'm liking you." Haymon said. "You seem levelheaded."

"Not pro anything. Not anti anything. A good neutral ruler." Said Torryg. "I'd be glad for you to become the ruler of an independent Reach."

"See, and then you'd meddle!" Ayre said. "Vicious circle. Besides, I didn't say I was neutral, did I?"
She shrugged.
"Okay, maybe I am, but that's beside the point."

Haymon thought for a moment. "My lady," he said, "What do you hope to achieve from this conference?"

"My belief, and my father's belief, is that the Reach has the right to total and unilateral independence. I had hoped to make sure Mr. Torygg here didn't try to muscle you into a subordinate position... But, now that I know of the region's instability, I am unsure of what to think." He shrugged.

"Perhaps Skyrim has a competent ruler. For the first time in millennia." Haymon laughed.

Ri'Dar remained standing throughout this entire conversation, having never been sent the servants he had been asked for, he was unable to move with his Mane.
Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.

Re: Diplomacy 168 4E - The Great war
"Topic, please," Ayre mumbled.
"I know your opinions, however. So perhaps you would excuse me. It pays off to actually be with father when he dies."
Again, this came out very cold for such a young woman.

"Of course, how rude of me." Haymon said, eyes flashing momentarily to his boots. "Good luck. Don't let your siblings kill you, you're far too..."
"...Well, in any case, good luck."

Mane Ri'Dar of Pelletine embarked on an ingenious plan to conjure Hermaeus Mora in order to gain information on the Empire. His plan worked and the Daedra gave him the gift of the Empire's knowledge in exchange for his daughters blood. However, Mane Ri'Dar double crossed the Daedra and did not exchange his daughters blood instead setting off for Senchal with his daughter in tow. Hermaeus Mora was enraged and took her revenge on the crafty Khajiit, old Herma-Mora knew how best to hurt the Khajiit and by the time Mane Ri'Dar returned to Senchal his treasury had completely disappeared. Herma-Mora is said to have hidden the loot around Tamriel. The people of Pelletine praised the cleverness of their leader and Mane Ri'Dar did well to hide the pain of loosing his entire fortune.
Andre Malachite in Daggerfall continued with his flamboyantly selfish ways neglecting his kingdom as it became completely lawless. Eventually the people of Daggerfall had enough of him ignoring them and stormed the city. The one guard unit was no match for the massive revolt. Malachite and his family were disembowelled and their heads put on spikes outside of the city. News of the incredible violence reached the Cyrodiil striking fear into the heart of the Empire.
The Reach attacked the neighbouring kingdom of Jehanna with their full force. The Reachmen army swept through the kingdom crushing what little resistance they met. They reached the main city of Jehanna where they were stopped by the large walls behind which the enemy hid. The news of the attack on one of their provinces reached the Empire and the people readied themselves for war but Titus Mede did nothing to the bemusement and frustration of his people.
The Dominion recruited an army and took to the sea. They also sent trade vessels to Wayrest but no return was sent and the vessel was never heard of again. The Altmeri where displeased.
The Kingdom of Blackmarsh extended their trade and a good harvest in Archon gave the Argonians a reason to smile for once. However, the jubilant mood did not last long as a trade deal secured with the Empire was ignored by Titus Mede the Argonian people felt insulted by this blatant snub and the province lost stability as a result.
Valenwood reorganized their military but on the whole the province remained quiet and peaceful.
Hammerfell increased investment and started trading with Black Marsh.
Solstheim continued their colonization attempts the people remained impressed with their progress.
Following King Erigoth's proclamation of joining the Dominion the people could not believe what they were hearing. Wild rumours spread that Erigoth had sold them to the Mer to become slaves. The fear of the Dominion and disgust at Erigoths betrayal of the empire boiled over into riots. When the army was sent in to quell the unrest the people took up arms and headed for the city. The army hurriedly retreated to the safety of the city walls. The people then rallied themselves into a proper army, powerful magicians joined forces with peasant farmers who had formed into militias. Their only demand, Erigoth's head on a pike!
This proved to be the straw which broke the camels back for Cyrodiil. The normally contented citizens of the Empire had finally had enough of Titus Mede's lack of action. The whole province rose up and marched on the Imperial city the guards deserted and even opened the gates for the revolutionaries. Despite this Titus Mede managed to escape the imperial city through the sewer network. He then headed East to Hammerfell to seek refuge. The province of Cyrodiil remained highly armed and dangerous as they tried to work out who would now take charge of the empire.
