"I could use a stiff drink..." Leiden said, shaking his head. "First things first, I guess." He muttered, pulling himself off the floor. "Let's get this place cleaned out. And I mean cleaned. Top to bottom. This place must be loaded with jewels, weaponary, and a whole bunch of shiny things worth bringing home."

Llarays sighed. He opened his eyes. "Boethiah..." he said hauntingly to himself.

Qa'Mhirr popped out of a rather large cabinet he had been digging through, "No booze, but looks like we'll be able to open a tavern when we get back," he said nonchalantly as he brandished a large ebony and silver inlaid amulet, a massive ruby inset in the middle of the pendent.

Night-Runner was still in shock from the experience he just had. His hand went to his sword.

"I don't trust this place." He said, coldly. Drawing his sword he pushed open the door to the room they were in. He looked from left to right down the wide, grand corridor before choosing a direction, right. He followed this path for a few feet before heading left down a set of marvelous curving stairs that led to an atrium area.

In this room were several sets of valuable looking armour, but one set caught his eye. It was bonemould armour, inlaid with ebony, for additional protection. He laid his sword down on a nearby table and attempted to unattach the left shoulderpad. After much fiddling and struggle he pulled it off and tryed it on himself. It fit surprisingly well on his crusty, mud-stained leather jerkin. Next he tried on the helmet. The only way he could fit it on his head was to open the visor and allow his long argonian nose and jaw to pertrude through the front. The helmet was beautiful. It was made of ebony but had huge bonemould horns sticking from the top like some ferocious demon.

Night runner put the helm into his satchel and continued searching around the atrium.

Leiden began searching a bookcase. It was custom made, and he knew them bookcases from his time with the Jarl - and his slightly shady past. The usually concealed... Leiden finally hit the right book, and the bookcase span around. He had hit gold - literally. It was a vault. Putting down his pack, he stuffed as many jewels, coins, and jewellery inside as he could. He looked up and... "Dear God..."

On a pedestal, was a sword, golden with an ebony hilt. He rushed to see it. His hands trailed down it's edge... a little too hard, because he cut his finger on it. He winced, and it began to bleed, and even burned a little. He shook his hand, and picked it up. It glistened in the light as he swung it. It sang as it cut through the air. He was entranced by the golden sheen off the blade. He took the the scabbard up off the pedestal, and sheathed it, before pulling a lever and returning. There was a nagging thought in the back of his head about the sword... a familiarity. He ignored it, however, and continued looting.
Spoiler:
As you can probably tell, the sword is Goldbrand. I'll be revealing that later, but I didn't want you guys to think I just introduced it for me - it's part of the plot :P

Llarays looked at the gold, and immediately jumped into it. He put as many gold pieces as he could into his pack, and lay in the pile.

"Yes, apparently we're in so much danger that the gold was going to kill us and Llarays is being the hero, sacrificing himself for us to make our escape!" Qa'Mhirr joked with dramatic sarcasm.
He mock ran up stairs, coming down a while later, touting a lamp like device with a candle inset near the top and setting it on the floor, "Khajiit found something fun!"
Running back upstairs and coming back with a rather large cask filled with tall, thin bottles resting in shelves, an attempt to hide its contents as simple ale.

Qa'Mhirr sat on the floor, setting his pack filled with jewelry and gems away from the lamp, starting to remove the candle and pouring one of the bottles in, replacing the candle.
"Oh, wait, how long are we going to stay here?" he asked as his left index finger lit up with a small magical flame

Night-Runner returned upstairs to the others. He had sheathed his sword. He was surpirsed to find the others in a room which contained so much gold and gems.

"I... Wha..." He stuttered, staring at the golden radiance before him. He fell to his knees and began collecting up everything valuable he could find. Into his bag he stuffed coins, gems, necklaces, tiaras, rings, bracelets and all manner of sparkling valuable items. By the time he was done his little bag was so full it looked as though it were about to burst.

"Do we even need to travel to Vivec?" Night-Runner said, turning to Leiden. "I have enough gold here to buy my own kingdom, why risk our lives again travelling all that way?"

Night-Runner hefted his bag onto his bag, staggering slightly under the weight. he looked around the room, for anything else of interest.

Spoiler:
Sloady wrote:"Your time here will be brief, but I bring a dire warning." Azura said. The entire group flinched, wincing, their minds seemingly on fire. Falling to his knees, Leiden saw images of fire, and blood, and death. "Upon leaving this place, Boethiah, my kin, will try to turn you against each other." She said. Images of the group brutally murdered each other flashed through his mind. "You must resist, and take the fight to Boethiah herself." The group approached a Throne of Shadows where the Mistress of Deceit sat. "Do this, and you will be rewarded." The throne room was swept away, with a scowl on Boethiah's face as he vanished, and a city of gold appeared before him. "Do this, and Vivec is yours for the taking." The visions stopped, and Leiden began to feel tired again. His eyes started to droop, and he could barely stop himself from falling. "Go with my blessing, adventurers. I will be looking for repayment of this favor in future..." Leiden's eyes finally shut, and re-opened back at the manor.
That's how.

Thoryn watched as the others threw themselves at the gold and jewels, hanging back. He had not come to Vvardenfell to seek fortune, but to seek that which had been lost. He was worried about Azura's warning, but most of all, he wanted to be on his way, to Vivec, and then, to Ghostgate.

Looking round the room Thoryn came upon a bookcase filled with valuable tomes, scrolls and other such material. He let his eyes scan their titles quickly, his eyes fixing on one in particular, Saryoni's Sermons, a book of great rarity since the Red Year, and difficult to locate outside the province. The Dunmer was surprised by its condition, and was soon sifting through its pages as his companions continued to loot the manor.

Content that they weren't leaving for a while, Qa'Mhirr lit up the lamp and made himself comfortable while he waited.
After a moment, he delicately picked up the attached tubing and took a long drag, exhaling a puff of smoke, purring to himself as he watched the others.

"We should..." Leiden said. "Why do you all get to keep the coin?" He said, slightly angry. "I'm the leader of this group, I should get the majority share." He said, getting steadily angrier. He looked down at his sword, and at the group again.

Oh, Boethiah, how dare you do this to us when we haven't left...
"True, true," Llarays said, standing up. "When you already have a nice sword, which can get you more gold later on..." Llarays muttered, picking up a gold piece and flinging it aside."

"Oh? And what exactly do you plan to find holyman?" Qa'Mhirr pointed the Skooma pipe endpiece at Thoryn, "Something worth more shine than the Staff of Magnus and you'd want to keep it instead of sell it?" his tail was bouncing around playfully, "Like your precious Ash Mask," he grinned with wicked glee as he patted his pack gently with his right arm.

"That is none of your concern," Thoryn said defensively, "that Ash Mask is a sacred and holy artifact, it's worth is far more than can be paid for in gold. You have no right to it. "

"Right? This one recalls that your people liked to take things that wasn't their's," Qa'Mhirr blew out a large plume of smoke in Thoryn's direction, his eyes dancing in enjoyment, "Land seemed to be a favorite, whether it be from dwarves or lizards," he paused, relishing the moment, "And people of course, always fond of using others to rake your muck."

"It is of no concern to Qa'Mhirr, plenty of people will want to buy it and khajiit does not care if it is a dark elf historian...or a Dominion archivist.." he said with a toothy grin.

Troll ... :P

"It belongs with the Temple," Thoryn said sternly, throwing his hands up in exasperation, before walking away from the Khajiit, searching the manor.

He came upon Veriax in the armoury, and walked along the row of fine suits of armour there. As he came to the end of the row he spied an Ebony Scimitar hanging above on the far wall. He reached up and took the blade down, inspecting it. "This belonged to one of Her Hands," he muttered to himself, "How did it come to be here? It matters not, it should not be left to gather dust in this unholy place."

Spoiler:
Where exactly are we all? I'm with Veriax in the armoury, but where are you others? Are we all in the same general vicinity?

Spoiler:
I think you and Veriax are in the armory, a few rooms down the corridor and everyone else is in a secret treasure room behind a bookcase in the study.
Night-Runner's hand went to his blade, ready to draw at a seconds notice. He remained quiet but watched the argument unfold between his companions. He knew of Azura's warning, he knew Boethiah was manipulating him, but he didn't care. All he wanted was for somebody to draw their sword. He wanted a fight, he wanted blood. He had never felt resentment towards his companions but all he wanted now was to see them dead. He smiled and let the bag of treasure drop to the floor with a "Kathunk."

Okay, it's basically as I thought. I was in that room before, but left after the little spat with Qa'Mhirr. Also, in case it wasn't clear, I took the Scimitar.

He looked at his companions, just about to draw his sword, when he remembered Azura's warning. He tried hard to concentrate on the warning, but he couldn't. The sword... so beautiful... the sword! It was...

"Killlll" The whisper carried throughout the halls of the entire mansion. He looked down at the sword, unsheathing it slightly, so he could see it's blade. Fire and battles danced across it, and it sung in the air the same song. "Kill" Leiden drew the sword, and swung it. Not at his companions, but at a wall. It hit the wall, and broke into a million pieces. From those pieces rose a shadow, that condensed into a person - Boethiah. "You fools." It said, in a demonic voice. It screamed, and flew at Leiden. It hit him and went straight through him, and he fell to his knees. It continued on, and fled the manor.

"That..." He said, panting. "Was unpleasant..."
