Khajiit heat resistance?
Khajiit live in Elsweyr. A hot, dry desert land. With some tropic forest. The sun shines hot and bright. And they have fur.......1+1 =2.. heat +fur = bbq'd Khajiit. How do they stay cool? Do they sweat? Do they use their tail for cooling?

Re: Khajiit heat resistance?
Nice question. I think that they use their fur to maintain their temperature, like the Tuareg of the desert. Also they must have some cooling way.

Re: Khajiit heat resistance?
maybe they are nocturnal?
they can see in the dark after all and most desert cats seem to be night hunters it seems
also in Tamreil where almost everything has magic, perhaps they did evolve a permanent effect resist heat power as the title suggests, a bit like dunmer but less tactically useful when being fireballed.. i wonder if they singe
they always say "may your road lead to warm sands", this might be them trying to cheer themselves up in Skyrim, but they definitely like warm, as opposed to 'hot' (unless our 'hot' is just 'warm' to them lol)
i have to say now i've met the Altmer in a different light, I would like to go to Elsewheyr for the next game rather than Summerset which was my previous favourite choice for TES n+1

It would make a nice contrast with Skyrim. But I think it'll be the Summerset Isles if it's not in the DLC.

I think they hunt at night, sleep in the day.
Summerset is a probability, but truth be told, I would prefer it as DLC and get Elsweyr and Valenwood, or Hammerfell in the next game.

They are mammals are fur keeps them at constant body temperature both during the hot day and cold night. Also helps keep sand out and protect them from the hot rock and sand.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally?

Arabs were long heavy flowing robes and that seems to work for them.
Plenty of desert creatures have fur. Plus, from experience I can tell you that scorching deserts during the day can turn into freezers at night time.

Look at Dervenin in SI. Look at him in Skyrim. Say no to drugs.

Re: Khajiit heat resistance?
This is off topic, but this statement is entirely wrong. The vast majority of Tamriel inhabitants cannot even wield magic successfully.Mattbott wrote:maybe they are nocturnal?

Re: Khajiit heat resistance?
cats can only sweat through their noses and soles of feet, so the hair would have to be very insulating in both hot and cold conditions
tbh the freezing desert thing suggests they are pretty suited to Skyrim (maybe more than argonians and redguards) so perhaps they're not as hard up as they make out.. it might be as much psychological as physical, hence the warm sands blessing

Re: Khajiit heat resistance?
Have you ever heard of the Fennec fox (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fennec_fox)
They're pretty furry, and yet they use their ears to insulate themselves. Plus, they prefer going out in the early morning, night, or dusk.
Khajiit in the hottest parts of Elsweyr might act the same. Or they might have some sort of internal bodily function that rpevents them from over-heating.
