Sanguine's Revelry

Post by ArgonianDunmer »

Sanguine is a Daedric Prince whose sphere is hedonistic revelry, debauchery, and passionate indulgences of darker natures. Fittingly, he often appears on the seals and signs of brothels and whore-houses. Sanguine is depicted as a portly man with a demon-like head with horns, always with a bottle in his hand or a whore under his thumb. He is thought to control thousands of realms, and his enemies are Ebonarm and the Benevolence of Mara. Sanguine is supposed to control one hundred thousand realms, used mainly as pleasure pockets. The term sanguine can mean either "cheerfully optimistic" or "bloody"; the double meaning is appropriate for a prince whose realm encompasses both the light and dark sides of passion.
Image

Sanguine has opened up his realms to mortals for the first time in living memory or more for a festival in his honour, of unmatched revelry, debauchery and passion. Throughout the feast chaos reigns, and one by one the mortals fall. The feast will last until only one mortal remains, claiming Sanguine's most coveted gift, his Rose, plucked from Oblivion itself.

The mortals aim is to impress Sanguine with their ability (so imagination and writing are the key, and Sanguine's bias is an inescapable factor). Every day the two least impressive mortals are put on show and the remaining mortals vote for the one they would like to save, the one receiving the least votes is then eliminated. When only two remain, all the fallen are returned in spirit to vote for the victor.

Not exactly, you're performing for his pleasure, more like:
When it was Hannibal's turn, he rose from the table and moved to a cleared space before Sanguine and the other assembled guests. At his wish, as the Daedric Prince had promised, a stage materialised in the place. The Breton sprung onto the stage and at his wish, was suddenly clothed in the clothes of a jester. etcetera, etcetera, etcetera
Sanguine may also set other conditions, for example, group performances or performances of a specific nature. Basically, you're just trying to show off.

That is one element, the other element is the relationships between characters, which will determine who is saved and who is not, and eventually, who wins. These relationships can be developed when you aren't performing for Sanguine.

Also, just a note, if you miss a performance, you will be up for elimination, but you may be saved by your peers, so even if you miss posting once, you aren't necessarily, killed off.

So it's like a Daedric Survivor.

I am interested, but want to give others the opportunity to join a game. If you haven't filled up by the end of the week I'm in.

Yeah, in a manner of speaking :D, although the challenges are all about imagination and passion, and the voting is more focused on relationships that deception and trickery (although they are still an option of course :Twisted Evil:)

There shouldn't be a limit on the number of players, at this point, although I guess I will cut it off if a huge number join (maybe around the 15+ to 20 mark, although I don't expect that to occur).

I'm unsure, but potentially. If you have any questions I'm happy to answer them, I'll also try and post some more explanation. I know it's a little vague at present.

Considering I was recently offed in two Daedric Prince games, I thought I'd join this one.

Name: Samantha Landry
Race: Breton
Sex: Female
Age: 23

Passions (And, for my purpose, likes): Poetry, love stories, epics, any good story, blood, death, laughter, kittens, monstrous kittens, bloodthirsty kittens, cheese, deceit, trickery, speaking in rhymes, dancing, singing, dancers, singers, evil kittens, mice, children, children's laughter, tattoos, scars, friends, enemies, dead friends, dead enemies, fire, tears, hagravens, Bosmer, trees, nature, nature on fire, alcohol, poison, poisoned sweetrolls, tiny kittens, feasting, food, starving paupers, dead starving paupers, clouds, clouds that look like instruments of torture, instruments of torture, the darkness, daytime, the water, sea creatures, slaughterfish, slaughterfish eating people, people drowning, children playing in the water, adorable kittens.

Fears & Hates: Boring stories, bad stories, gross alcohol, spoiled food (unless used to poison), dogs, wet dogs, smelly wet dogs, boring people (unless dying, poisoned, or dead), bears, Spriggans, Khajiit, Argonians, sand, snow, cold weather (unless freezing to death is involved), small talk (unless talking about passion/like).

Has a round face, shoulder length black hair swept behind her ears. Basically, she is the female Cicero.

She wears something like this, but without the hat.

I am issuing a challenge. Try to beat Samantha Landry in this game!

Yay! First entrant is always the most satisfying!
Skyr wrote:yep. I didn't understood how exaclty competiton runs, what we must do and if we have "free time" ... also can we directly speak with Sanguine? That would be great.

Basically, all the contestants are at a feast in Sanguine's Realms. The feast goes on indefinitely through the day and the night until its conclusion is reached. There is no distinct cycle of Day/Night, but essentially, during the daytime, Sanguine addresses the crowd, at about brunch/lunchtime, and the mortal guests perform for Sanguine one by one. For example, someone might volunteer or be chosen by Sanguine (in a post) and then their performance goes until they indicate that it is over or are 'gonged' off by Sanguine, and may last for a number of posts (e.g. And with a flourish, Hannibal took his final bow and exited the stage to return to his seat), although other people may still post during this time (to comment, watch, think, etc.) if they choose to take more than one post for their performance. After all the performances it is late afternoon and you do have 'free time' to discuss the performances, before a vote takes place at dusk on Sanguine's announcement. The rest of the night and the morning the next day are also free time, before the cycle is repeated.

Sanguine is there with the other guests, so you may attempt to speak to him during the day, although there is no guarantee he will listen if he finds himself uninterested by what you have to say!

I don't think it will start too soon, but I don't want to leave it too long either lest people loose interest or other commitments come up. As yet, 3 players isn't enough though, I'd be looking for 4-5 times that number. Maybe in a week or two?

I'm in, if it's cool

Name: Ezia Maven
Race: Wood Elf
Sex: Female
Age: 29
Passions: Sex, Skooma, Dancing, Alcohol, Racism, Death Metal (Turning Death and Necromancy into an music form) Necromancy
Fears & Hates: Extreme phobia of Khajiit, hates twist and change at all times depending on whether Ezia is having a moment of clarity or extreme insanity and everywhere inbetween, sweetrolls and any repeated refrences to them in popular culture, Arrows aiming between the shin and the thigh
Bio: Extremely twisted and slightly unhinged by years of bandit torture and sexual exploitation, Ezia has no morals and no lust for anything other then stimulating her senses, She will not kill for any reason but she feels like hearing a scream or seeing blood but is also known to let people live or otherwise save strangers for no reason other then her own mood takes her. Necrophilia is not below Ezia if no other source of pleasure is available

ArgonianDunmer, I'm going to change my character, if that's okay.

Name: Jack Sparrow
Race: Imperial
Sex: In the name of Sanguine, yes!...Male
Age: 30
Passions: Beautiful women, alcohol, the ocean, and swordfighting.
Fears & Hates: Above all, Sparrow is terrified of death, and much of his pirating career has been spent pursuing immortality. However, as a somewhat go-lucky character, there is little he actually hates.
