Morrowind Xbox Guild
Since very few people play Morrowind on Xbox, I thought I would make a group where Xbox players can share your thoughts about the Xbox version's pros and cons. Please don't turn this into a console war, it is not meant to be.

Re: Morrowind Xbox Guild
I started playing Morrowind on the Xbox, so for nostalgia reasons it will always be my favorite in a way.
Pros: Pick up and play. More chill potential.
Cons: No mods , patches or console. Better performance/graphics.
Not that I ever missed any of those, since you cannot miss what you've never had, and that Morrowind has enough content already. Only bug that plagued me was the vampire questline, which is minor to say the least. Once I buy a new computer I will try MGSO 2.0 though.

Was a few years since I played, but weren't they used in bartering as well? Also an all-day affair.FrostMage79x wrote:So basically, journal, rest, journal, journal, journal?

Re: Morrowind Xbox Guild
I am in, I have never played on PC.
Pros- controler is better than keyboard
Cons- Crash, crash, crash. Lower limit of "in cell" storage.
I usually clear out the Creeper after 20-30 hours of game play. I buy evry item I have sold him worth less than $50, $100 or $250 depending on how much cash I have. Then I dump them on a fresh kill, usually the exterior archer at the Caldera Smugglers Cave. It seems to help with crashing problems.

About the controller, that's very debated, especially for Morrowind, whereas it was made with the PC UI in mind.Azura's Pimp wrote:I am in, I have never played on PC.

About the crashing, I've had maybe only one time that I can recall Morrowind crashing on me.

Re: Morrowind Xbox Guild
I have probably had 200 crashes. It is just a guess but I would put a decent amout of money on it.

Re: Morrowind Xbox Guild
It never crashes on mine. And I'd take the controller over keyboard anyday. If i had it on PC, I'd plug in my Xbox controller into the USB and use that.

Possible, I cannot remember when I bought it.Frost Mage wrote:That's odd. Maybe your Xbox is getting old.
Have you had any problems with the permenent dead body inventory display when it gets really full? or the creeper when there are hundreds of items in his inventory?mr cowbell2 wrote:It never crashes on mine. Re: Morrowind Xbox Guild
This is actually a rare case where I would take a mouse and keyboard over a controller, due to the UI obviously being created with the PC in mind. That being said, I've never actually played it on PC, so I don't really know.mr cowbell2 wrote:It never crashes on mine. And I'd take the controller over keyboard anyday. Since the Xbox 360 runs Morrowind via an emulator file, it is slightly slower than when playing it on the original Xbox. That's why I went back as well. Plus black+white buttons > left and right bumpers for Morrowind.

Re: Morrowind Xbox Guild
THat's how I started playing Morrowind. I prefer the console versions. It doesn't tempt me to cheat.

I have only played on the original XBox. I have a rule that has prevented me from obtaining a 360. Anything that costs me more than $200 has to come with a clip.Frost Mage wrote:This is actually a rare case where I would take a mouse and keyboard over a controller, due to the UI obviously being created with the PC in mind. I will probably get a 360 when the next generation comes out.

Re: Morrowind Xbox Guild
The system crashes on console with Morrowind just happen or don't happen as far as I can tell. My original Xbox would crash when it was still brand new, as will the last 360 I just played it on that isn't more than two months old.
The only bad thing is that it's a major pain to play on different consoles. I've made my ideal character about three times now because I keep changing my mind about playing on the 360 or original Xbox. I prefer playing on the original, but the disk tray is starting to die of age and my access to a 360 has been less than consistent as of late for dire reasons.
Only a handful of bad things have ever happened that ever made me wish I played on the PC, but two of them were just heart-wrenching. I got myself tangled up with the Redoran stronghold because I'd offed Percius for the evil Fighter's Guild quests and locked myself out of completing the quest chain to finish it. The other was running into a minor coding oversight that keeps the game from giving you the Extra Comfy Pillow if you do any of the Balmora Fighter's Guild quests before earning it.

The shadow of the past never dies, so walk forward knowing you can become better than what you've left behind.
