Azeem al Bachrim summoned an caravan of two hundred camels, and set out with eight hundred good men across the desert, to the meeting place of the Muslim leaders.

"My friends," he began, scarcely pausing to dismount from his camel, "I come before you today to discuss the Christians who meet in Byzantium. They mean to drive us from our homes. And I, Azeem Edin Bashir al Bachrim, son of Edin Bashir al Bachrim, plan to fight them! Already, a fleet of ships stands ready in my harbors. Good Muslims all of you, I know you to be! Now, join me, in the name of Muhammad (may he be ever at peace), the name of Mecca, the name of Allah himself! We shall stand our ground 'gainst the Christians, and they shall find that Allah favors no man, when all act in His name!"

"Inshallah!" Shouted some of the men assembled.

A portly sultan, dressed in green silk, stepped forward, his camel trotting beside him. "Azeem, and who should lead us? A mere weakling like you?"

Some of the men laughed. Azeem's realm was quite small and powerless compared to other Islamic nations.

"I may not have as many lands, or men, or-" he frowned with distaste, "-wives, as you, Korba, but not a Muslim here today can best me with only the steel in his hand, least of all you."

"Silence!" Shouted a cloaked figure. "We are all followers of Allah, not bandits. Azeem, Korba, we are allies. No need to fight. But Azeem speaks the truth. They threaten our existence."

"I... Who are you, stranger?" asked Azeem.

He took off his hood. "Shaleesh, the Caliph of the Caliphate of the Middle East. The most powerful follower of Islam."

Azeem bowed. "You are mighty indeed, Caliph." He turned to address the group. "I fear that my lands shall be a prime target for the Christian army. Any assistance that might be granted would be greatly appreciated. In addition, I must suggest that we strengthen our foothold in Spain. The Christian army will be most eager to take back what can easily be won, and we will quickly lose ground if we continue in our current state."

"No. The Middle East is where it will happen. The Francians will no doubt push into Spain but the Bulgarians and Byzantiums will push into the main capital of Islamic power. Korba will lead the forces in North Africa, the rest will fight in the Middle East." Said the Caliph. "As the Christians own half of Spain, it is already theirs. I need you and Korba to hold the southern half to stop them overrunning us."

[Gideon Dragontongue]

"And so I shall, for death and glory," said Azeem. "I estimate we have six months before we are in the midst of a war the likes of which have never been seen. My friends, we must prepare, and swiftly!"

"You must pledge your forces to the Middle Eastern front. If we lose our grip we will fall further than if we were to lose Spain." The camels trotted away. Soon, only Korba and two sultans remained with Azeem.

[Gideon Dragontongue]

"I pledge these eight hundred men here with me today. You serve only Allah, now, my friends," said Azeem. He glanced at Korba. "I may not like you, but I am willing to put aside our differences until the Christians are taken care of. Will you?"

Korba grabbed his fist, clenching it. "We shall brother." He got on his camel and trotted away.

"No. To discuss the situation in the Middle East. Many of us here are not Christians, but I hope you will assist your Christian brethren in protecting their fellows. If I found any of you to be betraying us, then you would have the main empires of Europe against you."

Azeem rode back to his capital city. "Muster the men. Soon, we shall fight."

The West Francians, backed up by 200 East Francians and 200 Western Scottish troops moved further into Spain. In total, there were 1000 troops, with 200 stationed further north.

Okay, so that was just my fighting force. Yes, I'll move four hundred to the northern tip of Africa.

A rider, who had ridden straight for three days and nights, arrived at Sultan Korba's door. "My liege," said the messenger, "They're coming. Lord Azeem fears he may not be able to fight them off alone."
