Favorite Armor type?
What armor type do you like the best, and what specific armor set do you like the best?

Re: Favorite Armor type?
I have always preferred light armor because at low levels it is easier to wear and not be over encumbered and at high levels it offers the same amount of protection

Re: Favorite Armor type?
I found that in Skyrim at the lower levels is more difficult to play with light armour. But I still prefer it, either for the stealth boost and for the light weight.

Steel plate armor. With high enough skills in Heavy Armor and Smithing, it gives protection more than you need, but it is still light enough not to hurt your speed noticeable.DikaSmausha wrote:what specific armor set do you like the best?

Light Armour.

Re: Favorite Armor type?
I normally play mages, clerics/priests and the like so I prefer to go unarmored.
However, my Thief and my Warrior use Light and Heavy Armor respectively. I prefer the former.

My characters mostly use light armor, but it doesn't have anything to do with a real preference, it just works the best with the build. Unfortunately, I don't really have a favorite type; Ebony and Daedric both look great, Stormcloak Officer's Armor is cool, and Nightingale is just awesome. I don't care much for both Dark Brotherhood and the Dragonscale curiass, both of which resemble pajamas.

Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

I prefer light armor but I generally use whatever seems appropriate for my current character. I do wish there were more light armor options available via blacksmithing. I generally play a female character and find that scaled is just too pretty and the glass has her looking like a gigantic ornament.

Re: Favorite Armor type?
My main character, the Nord, wears light armor. He crafted a full set of Dragonscale but prefers to wear his old suit of enchanted Scale armor nowadays. The Dragonscale is on a mannequin. The reason I downgraded is that with perks and enchantments for blacksmithing, I can go over the max DR with lower level armors, and I prefer the look of things like Scale or Studded. I wield two Skyforge Steel war axes. One is enchanted with fire, the other with shock. They do as much damage as legendary elven but weigh less.
My Khajiit Pugilist is decked out in full Daedric, enchanted to max his health, his unarmed damage and a few resistances. He also wears an expensive enchanted ring to buff his unarmed. He does quite a bit of damage with his fists, but is bulkier and slower than some Khajiit characters.
My Imperial Archer wears simple light Imperial armor, not upgraded. He doesn't really do smithing and relies on stealth and poisons to survive.
My Dunmer Pyromancer is currently wearing the Archmage's robes and the mask of Morokei, as well as magicka boosting ring and amulet. His preferred combat style doesn't involve being hit. He relies on summons and ranged attacks.

Archmage's Robes and Morokei seems to be a popular choice. I personally prefer Master Robes of Restoration, the Mage's Circlet, and Dragonscale Boots and Gauntlets.

Heavy: Ebony, particularly the feminine model.

Pretty much. If we're talking female armor, Forsworn, Ancient Nord, and Steel Plate are my favorites.

Re: Favorite Armor type?
I gather you don't like to sleep comfortably? As a matter of fact, I like the Dragonscale set and also the Elven. With heavy, I go for Ebony. With my first character I specialized in Light, but wore Ebony while doing the Companions in order to up the skill. On my warrior I've done Heavy, but otherwise I prefer Light.Gideon Dragontongue wrote:My characters mostly use light armor, but it doesn't have anything to do with a real preference, it just works the best with the build. Light armor. Right now I am using ancient shroud armor. You don't see me until it's to late.

I'm a light armor person myself, more toward chainmail/leather type.
There is an infinite number of alternate universes, which means all books are non-fiction.

Re: Favorite Armor type?
I prefer light armour, heavy looks far too bulky and ugly. Linwe's armour is my set of choice.

In my opinion at least.

They are, too. Daedric is wicked looking, could not have been done better in my opinion.

Difficult question. My wife (Mjoll) looks particular fetching (distracting?) in her Ebony armour while I prefer relying on pure magic. I will vote Heavy just for the beewbs

I like heavy armour. Daedric and the Masque of Clavicus Vile go really well together.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally?
