Can anybody give me any tips on the easiest/most efficient way to create a full suit enchanted with a combined level of 100% chameleon? I'm currently at around level 23; what skill levels/other items will I need to achieve this?
The main reason I want it is because I'm stuck at the quest from the mages guild, 'Information at a Price' and I've cleared out the vampire nest, but had spoken to the Vampire Hunter before I'd done this. Now there's nothing I can do but kill the Hunters, or so the Quest info from this Wiki tells me:
There is an issue with this quest. If you talk to the vampire hunters before clearing the cave you may not be able to complete the quest without killing them. Restore from a previous save and clear out the cave before talking to the vampire hunters to move on.
I don't have an earlier save point and I don't have access to poisoned apples (not in the Dark Brotherhood; if there's an alternative way to access these apples that'd be awsome)
I'm on the xbox360 so can't hack anything in. Any info that would help is totally appreciated.
Thanks guys

I got two words for ya.....let's make this sh*t happen!
I can't help you on the quest but at your level, unless you've finished the main quest, you should be able to raid Oblivion Gates for Transcendant Sigil Stones which can enchant for 30% Chameleon (Quicksave before grabbing the Sigil Stone, grab and see what you got, and Quickload if you don't get what you want). This will definitely take some time though; at 20+ level Oblivion Gates are filled with high level daedra and dremona so they are not cakewalks unless you have a uberchar from skillmicromanagement or you turn the difficulty down.
Checking out UESP's resource will show that Grand Souls allow for 20% Chameleon, but you supposedly need Journeyman Illusion Skill to enchant Chameleon on an item. Ita in Bravil's Mages Guide sell Journeyman Chameleon spells.
Merida's Daedric Shrine is not far away from Skingrad and the Daedric Quest Reward is the Ring of Khajit which gives 35% Chamelon.
So, either:
5 items using Grand Souls to get 20% Chameleon each or
4 items with at least 2 of them made from 30% Chameleon Sigil Stone and the rest 20% using Grand Soul. Ring of Khajit can take the place of one Sigil Stone item.
There might be other artifacts with Chameleon which I do not know about.

I had alrdy found a camo ring at low level that gave me 20% camo, and shortly after that i gathered up a robe, another ring, a hood and shoes.
Once you have the items to enchant, you just need your camo spell which can be obtained from Ita Rienus in Bravil Mages guild. You'll need to be a journeyman of Illusion to enchant anything with this , easiest way to skill up is use the torchlight line of spells (starlight is the lowest one you can get from any of the following NPC's: Calindil, Delphine Jend, Edgar Vautrine, Ungarion)
Just keep casting starlight till you bump your illusion up, you'll prolly need some restore magika potions, or make your own which gives another chance for skill ups in alchemy or you could just wait an hour when your mana pool is depleated.
Right so you have your clothes and your spell which you can now cast, you just need a grand soul gem for each piece of clothing your going to enchant, it needs to be filled with a grand soul too! You'll need to get access to an enchanting alter which can be found at the arcane university or through various mod's you can download. Enchant them as you would with another other armor or weapon, don your new suit of camo and go on a spree!
NOTE: You can make your camo suit with even less effort, by obtaining Transendant Sigil Stones and finding them with 30% camo. This requires less items to enchant and you then get the bonus's of being able to wear bits of your normal armor and you don't have to use an alter!

May you walk always in the shadow of Sithis, dear Brother

I'm not in the DB either, but that doesn't stop me raiding the barrel for poisoned apples. It's in Fort Farragut, immediately east of Cheydinhal.
I had to fight through the Dark Guardian skeletons to get to it, but you could just walk to the North side of the Fort, where there is a tree with a huge trunk. You will find one side is cut away, and there is a trap door in there that leads directly into the room with the poisoned apples barrel.
This doesnt help the quest question, but for chameleon in general....
Being an alchemist, I would recomend using potions to suppliment your chameleon "suit" if you can't get to 100 or just don't want to give up other armor items.
At medium levels combine bloodgrass and raddish, high levels just use bloodgrass.
I can get a 42% chameleon for about 2 minutes from one chameleon potion at my level. This way, I can wear whatever I want and when I need to I just drink a few potions to disappear.
Also, cheameleon is a much better potion to use than "invisibility" becuase you can pick up items and attack without losing your spell.
