Scariest Moments in Skyrim
Post those moments when you recoiled from the screen with a slight yelp...or maybe not so much.
Here's mine:
So...post all your "OMGWTF!" moments...and no, not the time when you were sent to Masser at the end of a Giant's club.
Here's mine:

Hmm...when I saw festus pinned to the tree by dozens of arrows. Kinda gruesome.
and Astrid....
But, one non db moment would be...when my first dwarven centurion awoke to combat me, friggen scary.

My first sabre-tooth. I was level 3 or 4 and the nice kitty just came out of nowhere and mauled me.

The stuff that happens in there was so well done, I felt like I was in just the right sort of cheesy horror movie. The voice, the lighting, everything contributed to the feeling of mounting dread!

Helgen.
Seems appropriate given 'Hel' is a scary place from Norse mythology. Not to mention the analogous fiery scary place in Christian mythology.

The only thing remotely scary that happened to me is when my game froze and I thought it was broken.

This. Not really scary as such, but a lil bit of a goosebump moment.FloatingDisc wrote:The first time I spoke to Vigilant Tyranus in Markarth, and foolishly followed him into that house...

Last night I was playing and turned around to see a 2000 pound snow bear jumping at my face. Scared the hell out of me

Re: Scariest Moments in Skyrim
Encountering the Chaurus reaper, also i have had like 100 scary moments with the falmer. One time when i was trying to sneak past them with my mage i turned around and 4 of them just stood and observed me(even though they're blind)
They sort of remind me of the creatures in the movie ¨The Descent¨, which is hella scary!

Whenever I think I'm alone is a cave, and then I suddenly turn around to a Draugr in my face. Those things can be pretty sneaky...

Walking through the wilderness at night with no light source, and suddenly my character groans in pain as a silent Skeever pounces on him from behind.
Nearly jumped out of my skin.

Re: Scariest Moments in Skyrim
The only things that genuinely make me jump in this game are unexpected enemies that manage to get close enough to attack you without you realising. I've had more than one Skeever ambush me in dungeons. Also running into an enemy that's both way too powerful for you and is also faster than you is pretty scary.

Going into the basement of Honeyside (Riften home) to find a hooded, black-clad stranger with an eerily smooth pale face standing right in one of the doorways, apparently waiting for me.
I think my literal, out-loud reaction was "What the f***?!?!" before I realised that it was, in fact, one of the mannequins which had somehow moved off its stand and repositioned itself several feet to the right. Don't know how that happened, but when as soon as I Interacted with it it reappeared in the proper place.

Re: Scariest Moments in Skyrim
Something similar happened to me - I was coming home to Hjerim and (after dumping my latest skooma haul in the secret stash room) was going upstairs to sleep. As I mounted the top of the stairs, out of the corner of my eye I saw General Tullius darting into the corner! Then he went all still, trying to pretend like he hadn't just been running around my bedroom, throwing my mammoth tusks and bees-in-jars and stuff all over the place.Jordy wrote:Going into the basement of Honeyside (Riften home) to find a hooded, black-clad stranger with an eerily smooth pale face standing right in one of the doorways, apparently waiting for me.

I put it down to the armour being possessed by General Tullius' ghost. It's the only logical explanation.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!
When I first started playing, I was jumping at everything...the frostbite spiders, the bears, everything getting the drop on you.
I think mine would be the first cave I cleared of vampires.
I thought it was a bigger deal than it was, so I'm all freaked out one is going to bite me
:p

Re: Scariest Moments in Skyrim
I'm pretty sure this one is a common glitch, but heck does it make me jump out of my chair every time and it was certainly my scariest moment in Skyrim.

Re: Scariest Moments in Skyrim
Not so much a scary moment here, but accidentally falling into The Sightless Pit, on a level 4 Altmer magic-user, is pretty [&@%!] bad.
It took me about 20 deaths to get through it.......
