Cidhna Mine - Letdown (POSSIBLE SPOILERS)

Post by bushwhacker2k »

After hearing about Cidhna Mine and seeing the large amount of guards and the talk of "no one escapes Cidhna Mine" and "it supplies half the silver in Skyrim", I was a little letdown with the miniscule little cave-ish area with 3 ore veins that I escape from in 5 minutes. >: \

Very disappointing, they could have made this really awesome, instead it came off as a basic side-quest: go here, do this, repeat.

I had my hopes up because I had been discovering some really awesome locations, even though I'd been all over Skyrim already, like the Blackreach and one other place that's evading my memory currently.

Did anyone else feel this way too?

Concerning the ore veins, I agree. But when I did the quest, I still had 100 Health, as I relied completely on my enchanted and smithed armour, my weapons and my spells. If I remember correctly, you need to do a brawl and that turned out quite hard for me.

Well, rather than difficulty (though it was pretty easy, especially considering that I was over level 60 at the time) I meant that they could have made this a much longer quest where you meet more interesting characters in a much larger mine... the way they kept talking about the mine was really setting it up to be a really amazing, memorable quest... but then it just fell short in pretty much every aspect. I guess I was expecting something more along the lines of Blackreach, since they kept throwing around the line "supplies half of Skyrim's silver". Evidently Skyrim doesn't have much silver then. -_-

Ah, but when you leave the cave (and side with Madanach) it makes up for that tiny cave. That was one of the most awesome scenes in the game.

You can do it, if you like, but you may also do what the necessary people want you to do without having to fight.

The only odd thing I've encountered with it, is my timely arrival for the escape attempt.
There is an infinite number of alternate universes, which means all books are non-fiction.

you know a few weeks after I escaped I decided to go to his cave and kill him and all his friends. He repawned later, they all did. Good luck ending the rebellion, they're immortal!!!!!
I would be a procrastinator, but I keep putting it off.

Nobody has ever escaped because no-one has ever had the amazing ability and skill to talk to two-three guys and then just walk out of a door.
She used to baby me, I was her baby doll. I used to chase her around, she was my basketball.

I did this quest last night. Given the kind of things that are reputed to go on in prisons, I had a heart-stopping moment when that huge hairy half-naked Orc said I'd have to 'do something for him' before he'd let me to see Madanach.

I was very relieved when it turned out he just wanted a shiv :p

As much as I think Skyrim was a let down, this was one of the few quests that I genuinely enjoyed!

The whole scene when you...
