Re: season unending outcome
you can only do season unending if you don't take over any hold for either side. The thalmor can be at the meeting, but don't affect the outcome, but makes for some interesting dialogue. I was going to try and see how things would turn out during Season Unending if I didn't join either side. I might try it later and see how thay turns out.

I didn't join any sides during Season Unending, and General Tulius and Ulfric were neutral towards me. Tulius asked me about the forts, though.

This IS interesting.
Can you then join either the SC's or the Legion once you've completed Season Unending?
If you gave all the territory to the Legion, and then joined the SC's, would you then take it all back? and Vice Versa.

Yes, and then I don't know. I joined the SC after I beat the MQ, and I gave all the stuff besides Riften to the SC. I haven't gotten to take it back yet, but we'll see.

Re: season unending outcome
I ended the civil war and skipped this. I prefer my negotiation to be done at the end of a sword, not a table.

Re: season unending outcome
This is basically impossible, as Jarl Balgruuf will not answer to Ulfric - thus SC quest line does not go forward - until you have completed MQ. On the other hand, with one of my previous characters I joined legion and fought the whole fight before proceeding with MQ, and in that case there was no negotiations.jygglag wrote: Joined stormcloak and conquered whiterun

Re: season unending outcome
From the Stormcloak side you can still negotiate a truce up until you "liberate" Hjaalmarch. At that point the "Get the Greybeards help in negotiating a truce" quest will auto-complete and move to capturing Odahviing.
This happened to me just recently. So you can definitely take over Whiterun for the Stormcloaks and still negotiate the truce.

Not that you're a neutral party at that point, though.

Re: season unending outcome
Not sure if this is accurate - I completed the whole civil war for the Stormcloaks before I did made any significant progress in the main quest. Maybe you only have to get as far as reporting the dragon sighting?MaKo wrote:This is basically impossible, as Jarl Balgruuf will not answer to Ulfric - thus SC quest line does not go forward - until you have completed MQ.

Re: season unending outcome
Yes, I was wrong, but at least with my character sided with Stormcloaks, I didn't get Balgruuf's answer. But now when thinking, at some point of MQ I didn't anymore go to ask if Balgruuf is ready, instead I was working with MQ, so I don't actually know where is the point you can continue with SC quests.FloatingDisc wrote:Not sure if this is accurate - I completed the whole civil war for the Stormcloaks before I did made any significant progress in the main quest. Re: season unending outcome
If i remember correctly, after doing the joining quest for each side, you do the jagged crown, then have to go and talk to Balgruuf. who wont pick a side until you finished killing your first dragon at the watchtower. From then you can continue the civil war quests.
