Does anyone think spiders could've been done differently?
Now don't get me wrong, I'm THANKFUL as an arachnaphobic that aside from their appearances, they don't move the way real spiders move. It's just, when threatened, spiders are ridiculously fast, so it would've been interesting for them to incorporate than in skyrim, and have them as speedy enemies that scuttle around ><
Also, since I hate the webs, I wish they could've let me burn every one of those webs, instead of just one's that block paths lol.

I jumped out of my chair today when a spider sneaked behind me in a dark dungeon full of falmer... That was scary enough.

I just think they should curl up when they die instead of ragdoll.

If they walked around walls and stuff, like swarmed you, that would've been cool.

They could have made them more lifelike, but I think I'd go very panicky if they were too lifelike.
Because there's no fun to be found in being normal.

I'm fine with the spiders until they start unsuspectingly descending from the ceiling.. that freaks me out every time. *shudder*

I wouldn't be surprised if they made spiders more realistic (faster, sideways moving, attached to walls), only to realize that for some people it was almost TOO real.

If the spiders were any more real, I really don't know if I could play the game anymore.

It really is kind of a weird area, where the realism of the game is actually a negative for some people. Uncanny valley meets arachnophobia.

Anyone know if there is more than 1 boss sized spider in the game, because I have to go kill it asap.

Re: Does anyone think spiders could've been done differently
While it would've been cool for them to be realistic, it would most certainly keep me from going into every cave/dungeon. Gigantic spiders leaping at me at breakneck speeds from a wall in the dark is more than I need.

At first, I'm like spiders in Skyrim? Whats wrong with these people? Then I fought one and I'm like oh [&@%!] .
Their scary. I freak out every time I have to fight one, and personally I would WANT them to be more realistic.

Re: Does anyone think spiders could've been done differently
The spiders don't bug me, it's the damned Charred Corpses that literally ruin my day. Their postures are very realistic. I've had to deal with some of that in real life, and I don't like to be reminded of it in a video game.BabyKiller209 wrote:It really is kind of a weird area, where the realism of the game is actually a negative for some people. I would have to agree with you. Don't must bugs curl up in some way when dead?1337onidas wrote:I just think they should curl up when they die instead of ragdoll.

Re: Does anyone think spiders could've been done differently
I hate arachnids yet many of my favourite games are littered with them. That isn't to say they shouldn't be there, if a game can make me fear having an encounter with a monster then it is doing a good job.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally?

It would be cool if they had skeever sized spiders to backup the momma.

Sort of like what happened in Borderlands with that queen mother? Soon as she dies, her abdomen bursts open and a dozen babies swarm out for your blood?Rynkar wrote:It would be cool if they had skeever sized spiders to backup the momma.
Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

No, they're not.i-m-so-ghett0 wrote:Aren't those the regular frostbite spiders?Rynkar wrote:It would be cool if they had skeever sized spiders to backup the momma.
Have you ever been pounced by a hunting spider?
I have.
Have you ever killed that spider, then drew sketch of that creature to commemorate the event?
I have.
Have you invested a few thousand dollars in several pieces of mar-quenched steel weaponry so you could defeat any further attacks with insanely relative ease?
I have.
Let that be a life lesson: Don't be me.
