Vivec. I read a few of his sermons on the wiki; dem philosophical/theological allusions! He's a very compelling and contradictory character: a third messiah, third hero, third fraud.

Mm, I'd say Vivec. Possibly Sotha Sil, but probably Vivec. Almalexia's crazy.
Vivec's intelligent and at least works with you to destroy Dagoth Ur.

I always liked Almalexia. I don't know what it is about her, but she has a charming quality and I liked doing quests for her. I liked her cunning as well, she had a great plan but in the end lost because she wasn't a great fighter (her headdress was badass though).

Re: Favorite Tribunal Member
I was going to vote Almalexia because she was my wife. However just because I was dead for a long time and i'm a human or woman or argonian or whatever now is no reason to stop going out with me. Oh she is also insane. So I voted Sotha Sil, at least he isn't insane or a [&@%!] .
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally?

Re: Favorite Tribunal Member
Also she became a consort to Vivec after Nerevar's death *cough*harlot*cough* But I still like her. Sotha Sil is interesting but there's not enough info on him to make him a favorite of mine. I'm so vain that looks are a big part of which characters become my favorites and all we have on Sotha is a dried corpse :[ Although his crown/mask/headdress thing looks pretty.Dance Commander Kerr wrote:I was going to vote Almalexia because she was my wife. Yeah, that's the dried up raisin of a corpse I was talking about. Unless he's not actually dried up and that's actually what he looks like. Now that would be more than uncomfortable.
Anyway like I said, a characters appearance is a big part of what decides whether they become a favorite of mine or not, and that simply doesn't do it for me. Also does he not have legs? That's something I've always been wondering about from since I first played Tribunal.
I'll stick with Almalexia.

Re: Favorite Tribunal Member
It's interesting to note that Sotha Sil has a bigger page, but Almalexia has a shorter one, despite her appearing in-game, alive with personality. Maybe it's because there's more Lore on Sotha Sil, but not much of Almalexia.

Re: Favorite Tribunal Member
I think Sotha sils the best for a number of reasons but number one would be the speech he gave after the dunmer changed to ashen skins and red eyes(read it in one of the books in game can't remember which) but he reasured most of the dunmer race that this was good and all part of there destiny

But there's more to know of her as a character and she really is an interesting one I think. Also she retains her original Chimer colour. I wonder what colour Sotha Sil's skin was. It would somehow make sense that he was completely Dunmer since then we'd have Almalexia who was Chimer, Vivec who's half Chimer and half Dunmer and Sil who was completely dark.
Or maybe since Dagoth Ur has Dunmer skin Sil had a Chimer base but dark symbols on his skin. It would look very magical too.

What do you think dagoth ur looked like before he appears in morrowind? The wiki says he was friendly with the chimer and dwemmer, do you reckon he was half chimer/dwemmer?

I always thought he was Chimer and turned Dunmer like all the others. I never thought he'd be of any other race. But if he was some other race I'd figure him for some sort of Ash Atronach or Ash Lich

Re: Favorite Tribunal Member
No, he was a Chimer. The Chimer and the Dwemer, despite arguing a lot, briefly were friendly; Nerevar had a good thing going with them for a short while...before it went horribly wrong and all.Stanley_passwall wrote:What do you think dagoth ur looked like before he appears in morrowind? Vivec is neat, but he's sick and twisted, and he knows how to get his way. Almalexia is an absolute harlot and Sotha Sil is just crazy. Some tough competition we have there...
Also, I do believe this topic can go into the Morrowind subforum - not much in general, is it now!

Re: Favorite Tribunal Member
I personally think the whole tribunal are just corrupt, Almalexia went mad with power, she slew sotha sil, and vivec, well, I mean they were all suspected of murdering nerevar, so I just voted sotha sil, because I don't know anything terribly bad that he's done.
I also tried last night to look up who the tribunal are, and that led to something like this-
They were the chimer! (so I clicked on chimer)- They were an old aldmeri!
I just don't understand morrowind's history, I really tried hard to research, but I didn't understand. All I want to know is how the dunmer religeon started, as in who was veloth anyway? How did he become a profet? and of what? Morrowind is such a great game, but it's so fustrating if you want to find out the origins of everything.

Re: Favorite Tribunal Member
Sunny, you came to the right place!
Veloth was an outcast from the Aldmer in the Summerset Isles. He taught about the separation of Good Daedra and Bad Daedra, which is why the Dunmer are, traditionally, Daedra worshipers (prior to the institution of the Tribunal). He also taught about ancestor worshiper, which is an important aspect of the Dunmer culture. As they came to Morrowind and separated themselves from their Aldmer ancestors, they became the changed people, or the Chimer. The members of the Tribunal and the heroes and villains of the game Morrowind - including Dagoth Ur and Nerevar - were all Chimer. After the death of Nerevar, Azura cursed the Chimer and turned their skin grey - hence the Dunmer. If you want to learn about the Tribunal religion, the wiki lore page for the Dunmer has great history on it, as does our favorite game!
As an important footnote: All mer races are descendant from the Aldmer; it is their common ancestor, more or less.
I hope this helps a little. You can also find out more about this by asking or reading in our Lore subforum!

Re: Favorite Tribunal Member
I voted Vivevc, but I want to change my vote. I choose Ron Paul.
What I really mean is that. They all suck. They all murdered Nerevar then Vivec and Almalexia started doing the nasty which is like... dude... too soon. Sotha Sil was wise but he threw himself ahead of the Chimer and the people suffered the consequences for the actions of these three. I say its better that I killed two of them in my werewolf state... just my opinion anyway.

Sotha Sil. I love the way he's portrayed in various sources, from 2920 to the Sermons and everything in between. He's a bit anti social but well meaning ,and interested in technology. I find those unique characteristics in this fantasy world in particular.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

Re: Favorite Tribunal Member
I'm not a huge fan of the Tribunal to be honest, but I think of them all, I'd be leaning towards Almalexia or Vivec. Almalexia for her strong Temple and Indoril feel, Her Hands, Almalexia (the city) etc.; Vivec for the fact he's a freaking half-Chimer, half-Dunmer levitating Warrior-Poet God!
In fact, in saying that, I could just as equally go Sotha Sil, for the fact he's the brains of the trio.

Whereas Almalexia is a bit of a psycho, and Sotha Sil is a recluse, Vivec is a champion of the Dunmeri people. He was Morrowind's hero and protector.
