Fallout 3/New Vegas
Might not belong on this board but posting it here anyways. I've never played any Fallout game. But I've heard they are pretty similar to Elder Scrolls in regards to exploration and the RPG aspects. If I love Elder Scrolls games, will I like Fallout? I was thinking about buying Fallout 3 or New Vegas.

Welcome to the forums! However, if you are talking about the Elder Scrolls series as a whole, you will want to go into the TES General sub-forum.

Yeah, doesn't really belong in this section but I'll answer your question anyway. I own fallout 3 and have played new Vegas. They are both very good games, especially if you like open world rpgs with guns. Fallout 3 is fairly cheap now so I would say buy that first and if you like it, buy new Vegas.TES games are very similar to Fallout games when it comes to rpg aspects. If you do decide to get fallout 3, you Just have to play an unarmed character with the deathclaw gauntlet and ghoul mask. You will look like Freddy Kruger.
you can just call me "Drog Dovah Kriid". Message me if you know what this means.

Re: Fallout 3/New Vegas
You are really asking if you should buy Fallout? Go, buy it. Every Fallout game is excellent with the exception of Brotherhood of Steel. Don't play Brotherhood of Steel, ever.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally?

It's a good game, either way.
I enjoy both, just rent one of them from blockbuster, or if it's on sale on steam.

Re: Fallout 3/New Vegas
The only similarities between Fallout 3/NV and Skyrim are general mechanics and graphics. Beyond that, they are very different monsters. Fallout is a lot darker, and much grittier; the "evil" decisions you make in Skyrim are nowhere close to some of the ones you have to make in Fallout.
I love Fallout, and it translated well with me, but liking Skyrim will not automatically make you like Fallout.

Re: Fallout 3/New Vegas
After getting to around level 20 in NV, I can easily say that I vastly prefer Fallout 3 for it's story, environment, interesting characters, and an overall feel that I just couldn't get in New Vegas.

I recommend that you pick up Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition. Currently under £20 on Amazon.

I grabbed New Vegas first and the game is awesome, for the lack of a better word. I'm thinking about picking up Fallout 3 now.
You should pick both of them.
