What are some ideas you'd like to see in mods?

These are mostly for roleplaying. Skip intro, start in whatever city or town you want, with a house. Start with whatever items and money you want. Every npc killable (with a warning like Morrowind), with an on/off switch for quest important followers, cuz otherwise I would lose every quest/questline that gives a follower.

Skip Intro
No Essential NPCs, no warnings though. Tullius can die in a dragon attack.

1. Muad'Dib Dragon Shout, with word walls and audio
2. Dwemer Music Box (customizable radio station, a la Fallout)
3. Improved Economy port or similar
4. Huge balance overhaul, weighted toward more difficulty and with better AI, not just damage and health tweaks
5. Comprehensive hardcore mod, a la FONV
6. Piracy mod w/ livable, travelling ship

In a mod, I'd like to see:

More dungeons. In most mods, you get all these great things for combat, but there is rarely anything new to fight in the first place. Maybe a little cave or something, whatever the modder feels like doing. Midas Magic in Oblivion pulled it off perfectly, with a wonderful system for acquiring spells and loot, along with unique enemies to test it all on, and fun boss battles. It was mostly lore-friendly, too. I feel that other modders should see Midas Magic as a guide for making widely-downloaded mods; keep it relatively lore-friendly, and keep it from breaking immersion, all while adding new content for a better game experience.

I've got some experience with modding, and it's odd that there aren't more dungeon addons, considering how easy they are to make. People probably just dislike making dungeons, I suppose.

Skimpy armour for males, there needs to be more of that.
And while we're at it, outfits that glorify the male anatomy in general would be nice.

I hope Slof comes back and makes some naughty mods, those were pretty. Image

I want to be able to skip the tutorial, like in Oblivion. You make your character, do the tutorial, and in the end you can change stuff just before exiting the sewers. It's not possible in Skyrim, and I want it to be possible. It'd be a lot better. :)
Me: "So, how did you get this rich?"
Random Jarl: "I'm the Jarl and so were my father, grandfather, and his father. How about you?"
Me: "I've just spent some days chopping wood."

So do you want to skip the tutorial, or do the tutorial and then tweak stuff at the end? If you just want to skip the intro and tutorial, there are several mods for that already. E.g. Developer Quikstart.

This. Im tired of missing enemies because i was just slightly off in my aiming. More and/or fleshed out guilds, perhaps rival guilds you could join (fighters guild/silver hand, upstart mage's guild etc) I kinda just want more storyline to them, or perhaps add requirements to the quests like you have to do X amount of radiant quests before you advance the story. I liked the idea of starting in a town (perhaps based on race, argonian in riften, nord in windhelm, imperial - solitude etc). Perhaps you receive a quest to take a package to Helgen and get caught up in the attack.

I'd like to see:
1. A seasonal weather mod. IIRC the current Skyrim weather system is region-based but does not vary according to season. What I want to see is a mod that makes it snow in the winter, rain in the other seasons and have more sunshine than usual in the summer.
2. A mod which gives each and every weapon/armour quality (superior, exquisite and so on) a different in-game look.

In the Skyrimgamejam vid, Bethesda made a seasonal mod. It looks real good.
If you havent seen it yet, check it out, really cool stuff.

I have an ambition, which is become good enough with the creation kit to create a real city. Bigger than Solitude or Whiterun or Windhelm, with real economy, real influence in the surrounding areas, more NPCs, lots of quests, maybe a new guild or something...
One day I'll give it a try :D
Of course, I'm not going to get this good with the Creation Kit for a long long long long time :D

That's what we need. It's a shame how the city's were so small, very few people blah blah blah...
We need more npcs or just random people crowding a busy city. That would be cool.

I wanna see someone make a dwemer mod to be their race. Just to mess around

This may be on the crazy to impossible side of thing but I think it would be cool.
There is already a mod that makes it so that you are not the Dovakiin but what if there still was a Dovakiin. He/she would be an NPC that did all of the main quest while you could look on in watch history unfold or be part of the history. You would not be the center of events but you could be a key player.
Got my SKYRIM fix for today. Life is good.

There is one on the nexus. And a story behind it somewhat. Getting thrown forward in time and all that
Spoiler:

Kinda like in oblivion? I know when i first played, i thought maybe the player was the emperors lost heir. was so disappointed. But kinda like how the champion protected martin at times, you protect the dovahkiin. Let the dovahkiin be a follower

In Oblivion i actually liked how you weren't the heir.

Right now in skyrim, Ive finished with the main quest and pretty much all other major ones. The thing is that sometimes if you wanna role-play (e.g.. Ill make separate characters for every speciality, thief, murderer, dovahkiin, warrior blah blah). A lot of things in skyrim rely on you to have the dovahkiin power but you REALLY don't wanna start that quest. I don't like being the dragon born argonian.. seems awkward :/

I think it would be nice to see the Dragonborn as just some random npc going about his business, making progress as game time goes by, maybe a newspaper would be cool, telling what dovahkiin did to keep you updated :0 thats what couriers are for.

In Oblivion you could pick up newspapers from innkeepers. I don't think that should be terribly hard to implement, especially if they've all already got some "here you go" type of dialog.

I would get that mod.

I really didn't like how the main characters story just ends. Like, maybe every week a newsprint goes out and you hear that dovahkiin kills dragon near whiterun. THats interesting and adds to the realism that everyones looking for.
