I would live in Cheydinhal or Bruma.
Cheydinhal mainly because it was the first city i was in other than the IC. I like the architecture, and of cours, the Dark Brotherhood.

Bruma cuz' i love the cold.

I went for Bruma, mostly because my Nordic characters would inflict injury if I didn't.

But it's a tough one, I always kinda like Chorrol (spelling, people! :P ) not so much for the people but because the town is exceptionally well laid-out, and the great Oak is just unique.

But Bruma's folk are on the whole much more fun. My characters usually spend a good deal of time kitting the town out (Talkie Toaster's mod) in clothes and suitable weapons & armour. Knowing how many Gates are going to open around them makes me feel they ought to at least have a Fighting Chance (hah).

Usually, my characters live in the wilderness (a couple of caves & an abandoned tower); but a pint of ale on a wintry night in the Tap & Tack always goes down well.

You could always have them live in Anvil for a bit. Nords like it there, because of all the sailing opportunties, apparently.

I'd live in Bravil for the waterfront property 8). I wouldn't mind a shack like home, as long as it has 2 floors. I just love living by the water so it wouldn't matter.

True. But the salty air seems to turn Nords green. See here if you don't believe me  http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Image:Heinrich_Oaken-Hull.jpg

You don't exactly see hippies everywhere carrying protest signs "Save the Mountain Lions!" But then again, they have magic, which makes everything different.

I chose Bravil, it's on Niben Bay and close to The Strange Door...easy access to the Shivering Isles...my favorite Plane of Oblivion.

I'd go for Skingrad, Anvil or Chorrol.
Skingrad is a cozy little town with a beautiful castle and tall houses stretching down narrow streets. Nothing like taking a stroll down the lanes. And the vineyards... <3 :)
Anvil is a wonderful coast town with beautiful architecture and a big lighthouse. It's just awesome! :)
I love Chorrol! Why, I can't explain. The atmosphere is just awesome and the Great Oak... :)

I don't know, maybe he just ended up that way after all those years married to a Bosmer. :)

You'll have to excuse me - it's my character you see, she's a Dunmer, they can be so xenophobic sometimes. Maybe there's somewhere in Cyrodiil I can send her for inter-elven diversity awareness training.

What was it the Dunmer smith in Anvil said about Heinrich Oaken-Hull's wife - "I'd rather sleep with my horse!"

You wouldn't! Xenophobia is one of the Dunmers' most charming characteristics. :D

My Nords would often fail miserably in InterSpecies relations. They get on well with Khajiti & Argonians. Elves & Humans, not so much. Don't even mention Orcs.

I suspect he knows what his apprentice gets up to with Heinrich's wife behind the stables every afternoon  I was quite shocked meself.
*coughs modestly*

Most NPCs can't even identify the race of their comrades.

"Tun-zeeus runs the Dividing Line. He's the genuine orc of Leyawiin."

I get there and POW. Tun-Zeeus is an argonian. How do you muck that up? Besides the devs overlooking it.

I'd have to say Chorrol - nice little friendly town, nice house for sale, nice people (so far), and the Grand Tree is a nice touch. When I'm not researching, training, or adventuring, I like to lounge under the Grand Tree and read a few books.

That's why he's a "genuine orc of Leyawiin"!!! Argonians are the Orcs of Leyawiin! DUH! I mean, get a clue, Vesna.

Spoiler alert!

I thought it was odd that when my character fought Maglir towards the end of the Fighters' Guild questline, he shouted "You're a traitor to your own race!", even though he's a Bosmer and she's a Dunmer.

True. Blackwood is like that. Too many Argonians.
