Re: Political Compass
See, I'm still not sure what "actual policies" of his you think qualifies him as "the scum of the earth". That's a pretty strong statement, and one would assume that a statement that strong requires a pretty good understanding of what it is you're raging against. Yet time and time again, it seems like, from a strictly objective standpoint, your political views are much closer to Ron Paul's than they are to, say, Barack Obama's. Certainly much closer to Paul's than they are to Romney's. In fact, I'd go a step further and say that Ron Paul's views are closer to the views professed by the vast majority of Americans, particularly younger Americans. Heck, when you can win the praise and grudging respect of everyone from CEOs to Ralph Nader and Chomsky, something's going on!
But I'm not trying to convince you. You've clearly made up your mind, or at least, you've made up your mind to make up your mind. I'm just... curious, is all.
Also, what did the test get "completely wrong"? The test makers allow, even encourage, sensible feedback, so if it's that bad, voice your concerns!
...you're mad they said Hitler was further Left than Obama, aren't you?

I took the test. I blindly said things on the sixth page, though.

Re: Political Compass
If I recall correctly that page was the easiest one to answer.

Re: Political Compass
Hmm. If you are even open to the notion of Homosexuality and others' right to openly practice it, as you seem to have implied, it would certainly seem to remain a no-brainer.

Sex outside marriage is usually immoral. Strongly Disagree
A same sex couple in a stable, loving relationship, should not be excluded from the possibility of child adoption. Strongly Agree
[&@%!], depicting consenting adults, should be legal for the adult population. Strongly Agree
What goes on in a private bedroom between consenting adults is no business of the state. Strongly Agree
No one can feel naturally homosexual. Strongly Disagree
These days openness about sex has gone too far. Strongly Disagree

No surprise there.Witchery wrote:OH MY GOODNESS.Dance Commander Kerr wrote:What?Witchery wrote:

I am curious about the reasoning though, for most of them I can easily understand an opinion different than my own but I don't quite see why someone wouldn't agree with "What goes on in a private bedroom between consenting adults is no business of the state.".
Could you explain please?

Re: Political Compass
Well, even though I answered exactly the same way as T, I can understand (not like, understand) the exact opposite answers for all of them except the question of natural homosexuality. I'm pretty sure you couldn't find more solid proof that it is natural.

I would be very interested in this proof.Veck wrote:I'm pretty sure you couldn't find more solid proof that it is natural.

Re: Political Compass
The proof of virtually every single gay person in the world stating that it's haplened naturally, along with scientific evidence that it's perfectly possible for a person to feel gay rather than choose to be it, and the pathetic hatred that gets thrown at gays round every corner meaning that you would have to be insane to ever actually want to be among them?

Re: Political Compass
Homosexuality among animals. If it happens to animals, I'm assuming it's natural. However, I haven't fully read that article.
Anyways, this is the third time I took the test(from a few years ago), my results remain about the same.

Faulty argument: animals also practice infanticide, incest, and child/adult relationships, but I wouldn't recommend those.Pingpat wrote:Homosexuality among animals. If it happens to animals, I'm assuming it's natural. However, I haven't fully read that article.

Re: Political Compass
People always assume that if something is natural, it must be good if not better than anything man makes/does.
Civility is knowing the difference between someone else's happiness and murdering babies to ensure only your genetic code lives on, and acting accordingly; granted I'm sure there's plenty of prejudicial people who think they're civil and that it's completely evil to not be like them...

Re: Political Compass
Let's not get carried away and make this a thread about issues, before it gets out of hand. Sometimes you just have to practice tolerance and try to understand where the other person is coming from. Everyone, however, deserves respect for their opinions, provided they aren't hurting anyone else.
