Mine was on my new Lv15 archer character, I decided to do a new playthrough on master difficulty, and while going mess up Alain Dufont, I saw a Dragon head, not remembering it was shearpoint, I headed straight up there after killing Alain, just me and my horse. I sneak attack the dragon, then proceed to start to kill him, but then I decided to run towards the word wall for cover. If you've ever fought a dragon on master, you'll know that they really hurt so it's good to take cover, or shield bash a lot if you're a warrior, but trouble is, I forgot that at shearpoint, there was Krosis. So I activate Krosis, immediately realize I was at shearpoint, and I'm thinking "oh [&@%!]". I ran like halfway down the mountain, eventually shot the injured dragon to death while avoiding Krosis (at this point I had used all health potions on the dragon, so I basically had to avoid getting hit at all, as Krosis could nearly one shot me, so if I got hit at all, I'd have to spam healing, and not even get enough HP back to tank a second shot), then I hide behind rocks and kited Krosis around for like literally 5 minutes while he hurled fireballs at me, before I could kill him. I was nearly out of arrows after I killed him, and he had ran out of magicka like 2-3 times at least before he died. Hardest fight I've ever had in Skyrim.

Very confusing fight and it can get you stunlocked no matter how powerful you are..... unless you play a sneak character.

Malkoran from Meridia's quest with his one hit kill frost spell!

Oh my God . . . the ones that gave me the most trouble (at low levels) were the Caller, Malkoran, and Morokei. I also hated Mercer Frey on my thief.

Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
I haven't met Morokei yet.
The Caller and Malkoran were easy enough to handle with illusion spells.
However since Illusion doesn't work on undead, my hardest fight was my first scourge draugr at lvl22. (shame on me, this draugr killed me at least 6 or 7 times)
I guess Morokei will be a tough one.

Krev the Skinner, Companions questline, sometime before level 10, on Expert. His two handed attacks would one shot me via cutscene. Unlike an actual clumsy 2H swing, one cannot simply dodge a cutscene.

Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
There are plenty of those, for example meeting ice trolls/wraiths and dragons at low levels, and meeting dragon priests and other difficult enemies at mid-levels. Searching those shout words (Arngeir and Friend) have mostly put me difficult situations, as I usually just can't resist to look for them. There has been several almost hopeless fights against either dragon or dragon priest in many word wall locations.
A redguard melee fighter, level 15 or something. I got a hint of a word in Ragnvald and heard "Wiki-rumors" about a mask providing so-much-needed elemental protection in it, and decided to enter ruins. Fighting against the first mid-boss was extremely difficult and I ran out all of my healing potions. As I was doing the dungeon first time, I thought this was the boss and continued. Then when meeting the second mid-boss I chose to take&run -strategy, which in fact worked, and I decided to continue; sure that one was the last one, now just go to pick the loot, word and the mask (at that time, I thought that the mask is somehow found from a chest or something). Then Otar popped from his coffin... I first tried several times to take Otar the Mad directly, to reach the wall and the loot, with no success - his one-shot-kill spells were just too much to me. I was able to run&sneak past Otar, to the chamber behind him to get the word (sneaking!), and then I was trapped there. I made tens of tries to take him down with bow from that chamber - it was hopeless. Having no other choices left, trapped in a dungeon with no good saved positions (would you give up a shout word?), I finally decided to give up getting the mask (when realizing that it was something Otar was wearing of), hit the sprint button and tried to ran out the dungeon; and with few tries to dodge the spells, it actually worked! I entered the ruins again much later, much better prepared and was able to kill the priest, but sadly at that time the mask was not anymore so valuable to me...
A Breton melee fighter, at level 20 or so, heard rumors about a word in Volunruud. The first mid-boss revealed unbeatable; that one shouted my sword from my hand, and then slaughtered me in a few hits. I gave up, and decided to come back later. Well, that was I did. That time, I was able to take the mid-bosses down, and I then entered to the last chamber, where Kvenel and his servant were having their eternal tea moment (they are sitting there, having tankards and some wine, waiting for an adventurer to come). Many, many attempts, then going back to fill my reserves, no success... I was finally able to take them both down by bringing Esbern and Delphine to the dungeon during "Alduin's Wall" quest.
The same Breton fighter, Saarthal quest: There was Draugr Overlord waiting there, and after several tries I decided to give up, only to see that my way back was closed. Forced to continue, I made several dozens of attempts to get past that Draugr, with no success. I was finally able to get him killed by choosing Conjuration's Summoner perk (to be able to place atronachs farer), and kept sneaking & summoning Flame Atronach. I didn't count how many Flame Atronach was needed, but eventually I was able to get that Draugr killed. Guess what I did when Tolfdir finally came? Bought some shielding spells...
A Breton mage, at level 20 or so, going to reforge "Gauldr's Amulet" with Brelyna. The fight in the last chamber turned out to be unbeatable, as without any armor an arrow or two was enough to kill me. I first got Sanguine's Rose in to my hands, and tried again; no success after several attempts. I was finally able to take all them down, with luck, Brelyna, Sanguine's Rose and Ritual greater power.

Really? I defeated Morokei by playing hide-and-seek while my Frost Atronach would pummel him a few times before being destroyed. Took about 50 resummons but it worked in the end and he never turned it against me.Hissien wrote:I became a bloodstarved vampire to combat his ice spells and he kills me with a basic flame spell.mulder wrote:Malkoran from Meridia's quest with his one hit kill frost spell!![]()

Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
I agree...Morokei was the hardest one by far. Second came . Third be that stupid archer Draugr in Volunruud who kept killing me with one !@$# arrow at level 41! I was level 17 or so with my mage when I fought Morokei....it took me 3 real life days to beat him. I finally surrendered and turned the level down. The caller was hard for me with my mage too...pretty much I should have had more magical training before doing the college questline BUT it turned out to be good in the end because I learned how to play her better.
With my thief, she's currently level 35 and I just did Hitting the Books last night. Her speech is high, so the caller gave her the books, but she shouldn't have turned her back. Never trust a thief.

Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
Definitely Morokei for sure. I was only level 12 when I fought him so he could two shot me. Plus I was a full during that play through so if I got hit, my magika would go down quite a bit as well.
That fight probably took 15 minutes of me dodging around corners and pillars while getting the occasional pot-shot in.

Fighting morokei... The first time I fought him I didn't even know he'd be that powerful, I had never fought a dragon priest
I died in like 5 seconds. I eventually managed to kill him after though, with a lot of conjuration

Re: Hardest fight in Skyrim
These are one of the things that remind me about Skyrim/Oblivion -style game engine's weaknesses and strengths. All in all, in Oblivion/Skyrim, you can kill even high level enemies at low levels with some clever usage of your means (the game engine just counts HP, and when it is 0, yout opponent dies, no matter how you did it), and in the same sentence, you can make your game very dull by grinding your skills and coming out from a city only after being invlunerablestrobacaxi wrote:The first time I fought him I didn't even know he'd be that powerful, I had never fought a dragon priestI died in like 5 seconds. I never even thought that you could solve some of those dungeons with Speech! Some sort of Oblivion syndrome, I guess, but thanks for good tips if I'm ever considering to play "a pacifist"
Oh, yeah...this has worked for me a couple times-to my surprise because with my mage it has rarely worked. I invested maybe 2 perks in Speech with my thief, I must say it has made things easier at the right times. It is worth a try...she uses persuasion more than intimidation though.
