Umbra Problems...

It's not that I can't beat her (believe me, one of my custom spells would make short work of her), but, my problem is... everytime I approach her area in Vindasel, my game (Xbox 360 version) crashes. Anybody got a clue as to how I could fix this, or am I screwed? ;_;

-Side note: I only care about her because I need to beat the Clavicus Vile Shrine Quest (my last one before Hermaeus Mora). As you can see, I'm a fan of the Daedric Quests, but, it appears that I need you guys' help to finish up. Please and thank ya. ^^

what version of oblivion do you have? You might need a patch there is a glitch similar to the one your talking about dealing with the clavicus vile quest. Normally I have heard of the game crashing after the sword is retrieved but not before.

restart the game and as it first loads, hold down the A button.

I have the Game of the Year version with Knights of the Nine and the Shivering Isles. This is the only problem I've encountered thus far...
Oh, and, when I "restart and hold A," it clears the cache, right? Will I lose any data?

You won't lose any data, it just clears the cache that speeds up the dvd drive. it will make the game run slower for a bit as it rebuilds the cache. You'll hear the drive making a lot more noise as you play for a bit and taking longer to change areas. for 30 min or so

Mine crashed as I went back to the shrine to tell her I was going to keep the swrod. Luckily I had already read on here that there was a problem and that was before I had got Live and thus got the patch, so I had saved it just before then so just didn't speak to the shrine again.

I'm pleased that I read this though as I had forgotten about that so now that i have the patch I should be able to finish it properly.
