Most annoying creature in Morrowind?
What is the creature that makes you cringe? The ones that absolutely annoy you?
The ones that annoys me most are those damn cliff racers, I hate them. I hate everything about them; you can hardly outrun them, I hate their cries as they try to attack you, I hate how they kick your ass in the beginning of the game, and so on.
Oh, and I also hate Bonewalkers, I dislike the fact that they can lower your strength/endurance so rapidly if you don't kill them fast enough.
Any creatures in the game that you despise? Discuss.

Re: Most annoying creature in Morrowind?
I actually don't mind Cliff Racers that much
I find Scrib's annoying in that they can paralyse you if you don't manage to hit them and kill them in the first hit or two, but I don't mind them so much because they aren't hostile. Kwama Foragers are also kinda annoying for me, but really, no particular enemy stands out. In saying that, I hate Bonewalkers, because they can damage Strength, as opposed to merely draining it. Probably my most hated enemy actually, for that reason.

Oh yeah, Slaughterfish are really annoying. That's why I always have a Water Walking spell or potion.

Re: Most annoying creature in Morrowind?
This should be very, very obvious. I mean, these creatures are just such a pain, I'm surprised that there is even any question. The ability to sneak up on you, that awful noise they make, the fact that you can practically find them anywhere? Really, who doesn't hate scribs?
Oh you thought I was gonna say Cliff Racers didn't you? No, they are just irksome, but easy enough to deal with. But the scribs, those [&@%!], what with their paralysis and all. Evil. They wake you up and then don't attack you? That's the worst part, they won't attack first. They think they are better than us. Well I know better.

Bonewalkers because of their strength damaging spell, like some before me have stated.

Aww, I like the cute widdle mudcrabs, they are the most harmless creatures ever. I think I avoided killing them for the longest time once i figured out about the mud crab merchant.

Re: Most annoying creature in Morrowind?
What has been said. The stat draining beasties are really annoying. If we can include the expansions, then Reikling Raiders. It took me ages to figure out how they were doing so much damage to me, until I worked out I was essentially killing myself by attacking them with fire damage/health damage weapons. That reflection is a real b*tch, rules out ranged destruction spells as well.
Re: Most annoying creature in Morrowind?
I still say skeleton archers are by far the worst.
The only thing cliff racers can really do is gang up and swarm you. A good AoE spell quickly fixes this. Of the bonewalkers, only the greater ones actually damage attributes. The lesser variety only drain them temporarily unless your attributes are fortified. Then the drain/fortify bug causes damage instead.
A Breton sporting the Cuirass of the Saviors Hide makes this a non-issue since all magicka-based attacks and curses including damage/drain attribute are brushed aside and ignored with 100% magic resist. The worst thing any creature or undead can do now is disease, which again a simple potion/scroll or spell can easily and quickly remedy.
So now we come to the skeleton archer. Simply the worst for one simple reason. Out of all the creatures mentioned, they're the only one that actively attempts to evade. All other creatures talked about will close to melee.
Skeleton archers almost always see me before I see them and the next thing I know I'm bobbing and weaving trying to avoid their arrow attacks while simultaneously trying to do a zig-zag to close with them,in which case they begin back-pedddling until cornered.
Otherwise I'm just doing my little" bob and weave" while fumbling trying to get a ranged attack or spell of my own off. Forget about pinpoint accuracy under these conditions never really having time to properly aim. The best you can hope for is a shotgun AoE spell.
Abot the only other effective tactic is a summoned creature. The ancestral ghost works well at low lvel since their weapons are normal at that point and can't harm a ghost, but after that when they start firing enchanted arrows and even this tactic becomes useless. I've seen skeleton archers drop an atronach.
Talk about a pain in the arse!

Re: Most annoying creature in Morrowind?
Cliff racers... Cliff racers... And cliff racers. They are without a doubt one of the most annoying enemies in the entirety of all Elder Scrolls game. I hate the ugly sounds they make, I hate how they can follow you anywhere, and I hate how they always seem to hit me before I can hit them. No creature compares to the abominable cliff racer.

Cliffracers because they are like the cockroach of avian species. Aquatic creatures don't bother me. As stated, waterwalking.

This! I had to revert to my old save game because I was completely stuck (no intervention, recal)Scozzar wrote:Simply annoying wise, cliff racer takes the top spot, but Bonewalkers..good god..Stay away from them! Their strength draining spell is permanent so if you happen to get to strength 0 you have to strip everything off and go to an imperial shrine or apothecary. I am glad gold weighs nothing!

You're not surprised because they are clearly the most foul creatures ever unleashed in an ES game. And you didn't do it for me, you did it for all the ES players who have ever been beaten down by the [&@%!].OblivionDuruza wrote:Now why aren't I surprised by this postscribbane wrote:This should be very, very obvious. It's a story I've told several times, so I won't bore everyone with details again, but its because that was the first creature to kill me the first time I ever played Morrowind.
