with the bard quest i thought all you had to do was drop the item then pick it back up after you start the quest?

Re: 1.4 Still Broken
PS3 here with an 11MB save that isn't shrinking rapidly like some other gamers have seen. Terrible, console-stopping lag in the wilderness near to the (original) DB sanctuary, dragon not giving up its soul, lagging in dungeons & towns, floating weapons. My char is level 50, and I keep my quest log as clean as possible. Still several quests that won't disappear even though I have completed them. Still, at least Tonilia is talking to me again with the aid of the *extra* boots, so I have finally managed to complete the Thieves Guild. Generally, not too happy, to be honest.

Yeah I haven't had any problem the only thing is that the mask on the Dark Brotherhood mask doesn't work.

Blood on the Ice
Figured it out. Have to follow the blood.
Still does not help me on Forsaken Cave, leader is already dead.
Still experiencing lag as well.

Re: 1.4 Still Broken
I must that when I got this quest I spent ages moving back and forward, left and right trying to get the words "Press E to Examine" to appear, before I realised I was just supposed to follow the very very obvious trail of blood. *facepalm*Paktar wrote:Blood on the Ice

Re: 1.4 Still Broken
I enjoy the game, though there are a few small glitches that irk me from time to time. A couple dragons haven't given up their souls and there's a radiant quest for Riften that sent me to kill a bandit leader. When I got there the bandits were labled guards and killing them did not make my quest complete, so I can never finish it.
But perhaps the worst is the Forsworn Conspiracy in Markarth. I've finished it on two characters. Both times the guards that arrest you for conspiracy are still sitting down there in the Talos shrine and will try to arrest me a second time. First character I managed to simply kill all the guards then pay a 2,000 gold bounty for the murders, and the guards never respawned so all is good. Second character though? I killed the guards and that stupid Vigilante of Stendarr rushes in and keeps zapping away my magicka pool. Then more guards rush in to murder me and I either can't surrender or on the off chance they accept my yield I can't select the pay the fine option because the entire city's guard population are glitched into thinking the quest is still going and I HAVE to go to the mines. =/
And naturally I can't go to the mines because that option just leads back to the original arrest choices.
My characters mostly avoid Markarth like a plague now. Mainly because of the glitch, but ICly for the corruption and bad experiences with the local guardsmen. >.>

Re: 1.4 Still Broken
My house is now working properly, Weapon racks and all that - great job bethesda!
Also, PS3 lags (that really just happened after playing 5 houirs with really big savegame) are now gone!
And, i may be stupid, but I think Skyrim looks even better now on PS3?

Has anyone noticed it being easier to climb mountains and cliffs? Maybe its just me, but it just feels slightly easier.

Re: 1.4 Still Broken
I have completed Blood on the ice in some strange way early in the game, so no problem with it on PS3 now for me. Trouble in Skyrim is the same.
New patch decreased filesize of my saves. From 13 to 12MB
The game runs pretty badly when riding a horse, because of HDD. It's really slow in loading objects in game world. I think there is no hope to get this one better in the software way. Otherwise - no problem here so far (12MB savegames, I think 100+ hours in game, 37-38/50 trophies collected, still on my first and only character).
