Re: The Follower Discussion Thread
I've been using Stenvar on one of my newer characters. He's actually pretty good, and has good survivabilty. (I'm level 21)
Anyone else use him?

Re: The Follower Discussion Thread
I almost never use followers. When I do have one, I spend half the time making sure they're still around and the other half trying not to fireball them. Though I did pick up Lydia breifly to loot a previously cleared cave, and found the extra carrying space nice. I also kept Illia around for a bit, but then I accidentally told her to leave and couldn't ask her to follow me again. That was a bit annoying, as it would have been nice to keep her around, but it was also a bit of a relief.
Didn't keep either long enough to have much of an opinion.

Re: The Follower Discussion Thread
I never cared about any of the followers other then the dog. He died. I find followers in this game just get in my way. I could have Aela follow me around but I don't want her to die.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally?

Intresting thing happened with me and lydia today. I was doing the sharthall quest for the collage and was fighting Jyrik and suddenly his hp started dropping like crazy, he dies, then lydia comes trotting around the corner holding his staff! She must have went and got it off the table, then promtply to owned him with his own staff lol! When i took the staff from her almost all the charged where gone so i know she used it. Shes never done that before, I've done that quest probably a dozen times.

Re: The Follower Discussion Thread
Yeah, I know what you mean. Some followers seem to show a bit of initiative and make the most of an opportunity. My follower is Iona, and every once in a while she'll smack enemies the Giant's Club, even though she has better stuff in her inventory. I think she does it just for the comedy factor.zodicus wrote:Intresting thing happened with me and lydia today. Re: The Follower Discussion Thread
Meeko is more my pet now. I just make sure to be back within 3 game days so he doesn't leave to go back to his shack. He sure is cute, and nice to come back to. Makes Proudspire Manor more of a home with a husband and dog waiting for me.
It is hard to make stealthy attacks with a barking dog...which is why he stays home plus I don't want him to die.
Shadowmere is the shizzle. He knows how to protect his lady better than any other companion...and I don't have to leave him in a safe place...just make sure there is no cliff around.
Brelyna from the college is bad ass and she levels up with you too. She is my thief's follower right now, although I leave her at home when I'm on a DB assassination. My mage has Illia as a follower from the Darklight Tower. She is a strong mage as well. Tried the one warrior dude from the Winking Skeever and although he was strong, I had to heal him a lot, too and that got annoying. He also jumped in front of me a lot. With the mage followers, the attack from a far so that leaves me room. By the way, I released him to hire Illia with my mage...and he disappeared along with my stuff! No where to be found I have searched the area I released him at twice.
Anyway, mage followers all the way.

I tried lydia for a few but then she annoyed me so much... Her body lays in a lake near witherun with the singn of my blade on his corpse...
But the best one is derrkthus.... The only argonian follower...
He isn't so good , but a nice companion... And he is immortal!!!

Re: The Follower Discussion Thread
like many have said Lydia is very annoing... her corpse still have the sign of my Ebony blade.
But the best one is Derkeethus. He is a nice companion, an argonian( the only one). Maybe not the best warrior, but.. he is immortal!
No more dead followers that found their end with some traps: he is the final solution for the console players who can't make their warriors invincible with the console of the PC.

Illia. Her default gear. She didn't. She didn't. After the Paarth episode, we blew that popsicle stand, without letting the gates hit us in the kiester on the way out.Unionhack wrote:Who's your favorite? What did you equip them with? How did they die? Who joined the Blades?
I really can't sing Illia's praises enough, but I'll just point out one excellence. She's about the best pocket AA gun a dovakhiin could want, what with her ability to peg a moving target with frost shards at 200 meters.

Re: The Follower Discussion Thread
Mjoll is the best without a doubt. We have been running around for a few weeks now, going everywhere. As long as she has a couple heal potions she is a slaughtering machine.
What impressed me most was when she took down Vokun. Three hits from her Daedric Greatsword took him from over half health to just another trophy. In fact, I was so impressed I proposed right then and there. The wedding was great, especially since an Orc chief attended on my behalf. The honeymoon was even better after I gave Mjoll her wedding present - one of those fur bikinis.....

I actually haven't rolled with Mjoll yet, though I plan to on another one of my new characters. Her essential-ness makes her a good choice, apparently.

J'zargo is great. I love using him as a follower. Pretty easy t keep alive too, if you're on the lookout for traps.

Re: The Follower Discussion Thread
I agree, Illia is the best follower I have had in the game second to Brelyna.

Re: The Follower Discussion Thread
I've never had Illia, but I've had Brelyna. She was okay, but I really missed J'zargo and went right back to him.
Brelyna's my wife though.
Anyone ever used Erik the Slayer? He's personally one of my favorites.

Re: The Follower Discussion Thread
I hope than in DLC, we get a namable dog that's essential so that he doesn't die.
I wouldn't mind if he relocated to your house so that he can stay there when not in battle.
Having fragile dogs like these make me really miss Dogmeat.
