Hi,
there is a wiki entry dealing with running our beloved Arena under Win XP, but the method suggested there does not work - at least not for me. Is there anybody out there who knows how to run the game under XP _without_ deferring to DosBox? That would be great!

Hi,
Well, yes, without DosBox. That's what the wiki-entry says is possible (I can't add the link here because of the forum's spam alert ...). Do you think, that is fraud? About the speed, well, according to the official readme in the freeware download version from Bethesda, they added a special "slow downer" to the program to make it playable on fast machines.
When I try the wiki-"solution" (a special DOS-Folder on C: and some tweaks to the pif-file), all I get is "Not enough EMS".
Concerning DosBox, it works, but not in an acceptable quality/speed relation. That is, either it looks good, or it sounds good, or the speed is good.
