The Hunger Games takes place in the future after the destruction of North America, in a nation known as Panem. Panem consists of a wealthy Capitol and twelve surrounding, poorer districts.
As punishment for a previous rebellion against the Capitol, in which a 13th district was destroyed, one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 from each district are selected by annual lottery to participate in the Hunger Games, a televised event in which the participants, or "tributes," must fight to the death in a dangerous, outdoor arena, controlled by the Capitol, until only one remains.
Cool, but what's the roleplay like?
Welcome to the 50th Hunger Games. First off, I don’t care if the 50th Hunger Games is mentioned in the books. I’m changing it.
Welcome to the 50th Hunger Games. As you’ve read above, the districts are going to go through hell very soon. They’re going to be thrust into a cruel world where survival is almost nonexistent. 24 enter, one will leave. Usually.
So I have to kill everyone else with my skillz?
But, in the 50th Hunger Games, there is a special exception. Out of the 24 children entering, 1 will not leave alive, as usual… but there is a possibility that 3 will leave alive. Alliances up to three made in the game will unite the tributes as one, meaning they can all leave alive. Please thank the benevolent lords in the Capitol for this gift.
Sounds amazing. Can I make my character have flamethrowers for hands?
No! The basic rules are that there can be a max of 24 players. There can only be one girl and one boy from each 12 districts. Also, please make your backstory similar to what district you are from. No god modding, and no killing players yourselves. That's my job.
What are these districts you speak of?
District 1: One of the wealthiest districts, this district produces luxury items for the Capitol such as diamonds. Tributes from this district generally want to be in the Hunger Games and train for it all of their lives.
District 2: This district is also very wealthy. This district produces most of the peacekeepers (Police/Military) for Panem. Because of this, District 2 tends to produce very fit and able warriors.
District 3: This district produces most electronics for Panem. That means they are generally very good at technology and engineering.
District 4: One of the wealthiest districts, District 4 produces some of the best tributes. Because of the district’s production of fishing materials, the tributes are apt in creating fishnets, tridents, and locating edible fish in lakes.
District 5: A relatively small and unremarkable district. This district produces electricity and power.
District 6: A very large district, district 6 produces transportation for the country.
District 7: The district responsible for producing lumber, District 7 produces tributes that are well trained for survival in the forest.
District 8: One of the poorer districts, District 8 is just a sprawling urban city with many textile factories.
District 9: Another unremarkable district, District 9 is responsible for making grain. It has several large factories.
District 10: another unremarkable district, 10 is responsible for producing livestock.
District 11: One of the poorest districts, 11 is responsible for agriculture.
District 12: The poorest district, 12 is responsible for coal mining.
Anything else I should know before I win this thing?
Remember, every player can die at any point if encountered by an enemy player or an event controlled by me. You can form an alliance if you encounter anyone in the Hunger Games. In the Hunger Games, you will need to continuously eat and drink or else you will die.
You will either win big or lose terribly in the Hunger Games. The better you are, the more gifts you will get. Gifts can be donated by rich onlookers of the Hunger Games. They usually contain food, water, weapons, or tools.
The game starts as you enter the Games. There are several backpacks containing supplies in the center of the arena, which you can grab and risk your life or run away. You will learn what kind of environment you are in when the game begins.
Remember, you can form alliances of over three people, but in the end, only three can leave. The outcomes of player-player battles will depend on how clever each fighter is. The one that overpowers or outwits the opponent wins.
Good luck.
