Which Race Do You Think Is The Best

Hmmmm I could vote for almost any depending on my mood...

For a mage, breton!

For a stealth/assassin, Wood Elf!

For a quick and nimble sneak, Khajiit!

To slay everything in sight with a sword or axe, Imperial!

Though now that I'm deeper into thought about this, I would have to go with the Dark Elf (my current character, Ive completed most quests and maxed most attributes with several races) because it combines all of the above.

I'm a Redguard knight. They've got good natural abilities such as resistance to disease and an overall strength, endurance, and fatigue boost.

Dark elf for me. Was originally cause I liked the blue skin with the bright aqua hair colour that I concocted, but lets face it, in a game where your main mission is to beat the hordes of Hell, you can't beat a 75% fire resistance as a basic starter for 10.

Dark Elf all the way for me. They are the sleekest, sexiest out there. They dont take any guff, and they are extremely well balanced. Not to mention the Fire Resistance. You combine that with the atronach sign and you have a beast.
I will not conform to my enviornment, rather I will change it and mold it to my desire.

One thing about Dark Elves and Oblivion.

- The plane of Oblivion is a very hot place full of lava, fireball-spewing turrets, fire-blasting mines, flame atronachs, fireball-casting scamps and such.
- Additionally, fire seems to be definitely the preferred damage effect of great most of the spellcasters in the game. Most imps, Goblin shamans fire fireballs. Most conjurers, hedge wizards and such launch fireballs.

Oblivion is definitely a game for a dark elf. Simply the game environment conditions it.

High elf for maximum mana.

The weakness to magic isn't been much of a problem if you learn how to dodge incoming spells.

As a cat lover I have given the Khajit race some serious thought. Maybe the pirate girl I'm thinking of will be a sexy feline char. Problem is to keep her alive during the hard teen levels. For the time being I'm fully satified with my down to earth Nord warrior/ranger and my reckless Breton seductress/mage.

Khajits are underpowered in the games. But as a nation, culture, ideals, they are awesome.

Personally, I think the Breton is the best race in general. 50% Resistance to Magic is the clincher; it would not take much to get another 50% ...

But considering the amount of fire damage, especially when venturing into Oblivion Gates, the Dunmer is the more practical race for its 75% Resistance to Fire. Only a little 25% more resistance nets fire immunity ... and personally, I like mixing up Blade, Bow and Destruction the Dunmer style.

Bretons are great, especially if they are mages

Hmmmmm. Dark Elves are good for Battle Mage concepts, oviously bretons and High Elves are the best for staight magic but no plays that way. The Blade, light armor and destruction are some kick ass bounses. My vote goes for Dark Elf.

I strongly disagree. Bretons are good mages but their enduance starts at 30, which is pretty ridicules. I mean how are you gonna battle anyone with 60 health. I do agree with the Orc thing though. Orc males have 50 willpower! The only other race wit 50 willpower is Breton. The only crappy thing is intellegence, and Orc femals look even more dicusting than orc males which isnt worth the intellegence at 40.... I straight up dont get the Khajit thing though... Could you explain?

oh sry, i though you were still talking about the mage thing. But yes you are coorect, however i must say that awood elf is better, the only thing better about the khajits is the night eye thing, which dont get me wrong is very good, but the marksmen and alchemy bouses are much better.

I hate the Wood Elves and High elves because if they hold about 125 lb., they will get over-encumbered

Until you get your strength up, cast feather, and wear permanent bound armor...

I just hate them too, and I agree wit the feather thing but im not making my woodelf have a decent alteration skill anyway. Plus stealth is gay as a major, i use it from time to time to agment my other skills like being a strong fighter wit some stealth skill but otherwise.....gay
