Re: Dragon Age: Origins
I always killed Wynne. I have never had her in my party, and I have done 5 playthroughs.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
Sounds like I need to get into Dragon Age soon. Needless to say, I've been distracted with Skyrim enough to not bother. Also need to get some other games that have come out this year.

I killed her too. I didn't want to work with her and when I ordered her to let me past she turned hostile and gave me no choice. I live with my choices in RPGs rather then reloading.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
Wynne was alright. I'd usually pair her with a tank so as to make use of her defensive spells, but I did a couple quests with Wynne AND Morrigan. As a mage myself, it got pretty crazy; we were able to fire off an earthquake and a SotC the moment any hostile appeared, and while the party was slightly less hardy than normal, it rarely mattered, as fights didn't last long enough to require a tank.

I love being a rogue.I use dual weapons and archery. I hate Sten with a passion. I keep me, Alstair, Morrigan, and my dog in the party. I sometimes use Leliana or Zevran.

Good game. Enjoyed playing it and the DLC. Then part 2 came out and it lost its novelty.

I didn't had any problem with DA2 apart from the dungeons, which (and some even were) the same.

I also felt the same. They really could have improved them. I constantly got the feeling of, "I feel like I've been here before."Red Guardian wrote:I didn't had any problem with DA2 apart from the dungeons, which (and some even were) the same.

I think DA2's the best rushjob ever made. Also; a very good game in its own right. Drastically underated. Sure, BioWare made mistakes with it (Kirkwall being a fundamental one), but it's a supremely progressive RPG that took a lot of positive cues from Mass Effect 2.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
As Billy Bob Shakespare once said: there's the rub.
I loved every pixely pore of Origins - it probably ties with my favourite game this gen. And when I first played DA2's demo I ran squealing to BioWare's boards to complain (mostly about the demo's lack of auto-attack). But I had no expectations of what the sequel could or should be, and eventually I came to love DA2. FemHawke, in particular, is a masterful PC, head and shoulders above Commander Shepard in terms of meta-avatars which aren't really 'you' or a properly defined character.
Great script, good narrative, solid gameplay, a sizable runtime and a good dose of replayability. Easily one of this gens best A/RPG's.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
DA 2 was a good game and it had its moments. Tell me you didn't tear up when Leandra died.
It was rushed, and considering the small timeframe they had to create an entire game they did a good job. DAO was a hard act to follow.
I disliked the new combat mechanics (too fast), the new look of the darkspawn (the old ones were so much more authentic), the recycled areas, and the fact that the choices you make really have virtually no effect on how the last quests in the game turn out.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
DA2 was mediocre. I was dissapointed by it however playing as a mage was more fun then in DA:O. That may be because I hate the circle and having to make your mage character a circle member is a tad annoying. Then again in DA:O I usually assume direct control of Morrigan and fight with her.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
I was immensely dissapointed by DA2, not because it was a bad game (although it was rushed and not worth the 50 euros I spent on it), but because I expected a sequel to Origins. So, yeah, I share Eltee's and Tourist's view, though I probably played the game much less than both of them.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
I finished one playthrough as a mage when it came out and haven't touched it since. I'll probably replay it sometime before the third one (assuming there will be a 3rd one) comes out.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
What do you guys think of DA:O vs. NWN2? I liked NWN2 better, and thought it had better replay value than DA:O (I also felt duped by the 'origins' beginnings - starting as a dwarf really did little to influence the dwarven quests and ugh I found going through the ruined halls again dreadful). The best part of DA:O was IMO the party interactions and camp. Neither to me can be compared though to BGII
Oh, the downfalls of full voice acting, unique models etc - makes seemingly-endless amounts of side quests and story lines too expensive

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
Bioware have said that Dragon Age 3 will be more French, which implies that it will be set in Orlais. However, given all the porkies they told about Mass Effect 3, Expect it to be set anywhere but Orlais!

Dumb Rock. All of the other party members were opening up about themselves and telling me their life stories and problems, why couldn't he?.
He was hilarious though.
